    Funny, it's actually what I wound up doing. I tried pop OS for a little bit but I really just wasn't feeling the aesthetic and I much happier with Manjaro.

    Ima try Pop_OS, the out of the gate drivers for Nvidia sells me, just less work on my end. and till theres a solid competitor to them in the market (at least in my mind), im team green.

    I have heard, with the exception of the above comment that manjaro is solid choice. Honestly i really like the look of it too. I have 2 USBs ready to go, 1 Pop_OS and 1 Manjaro at this point. Proton i have used and works great, Lutris i've heard of but havent tried. I wont convert my desktop though till i get ff14 running on the laptop.... so fingers crossed.

    I actually have a dedicated kali machine, i was trying to keep my security Laptop separate from everything else, BUT! having said that, it would make it alot easier to fiddle with new tools and ideas without the need to break out an entirely different device. hmmm, not a bad idea i suppose

    So right to the point, outside of work, I'm trying to get away from windows. I do game fairly often as a hobby and have a fair bit of Linux experience and would prefer to use that as my primary OS sooner rather then later. Just searching around the first page of google the most popular choices for this purpose are good ol Ubuntu, Pop_OS, Mint, and Manjaro (Steam OS not an option, needs to function as a Desktop first gaming second). All the listed distros i have used before (Mint the most) but not for gaming. Just wondering if anyone out there has hands on experience they would like to share for which distro to use for gaming.

    Trying to help a buddy out, His server has been crashing from time to time for afew months now, its a dell H4ZV243 running unRAID OS. error is: "kernel panic, not syncing" rebooting fixes this issue but only for alittle bit till next crash. the investigating he have gone so far leads him suspect either overheating somewhere(which he says is unlikely as everything is set to notify if it goes over 60C), a ram issue, or bad usb drive.     Good input so far, thanks guys. Seems like CCNA is deff one to go after, another people CEH (or so i've been told, but that requires some experience first). I'm actually in a course for this now as part of my cyber security/digital forensics major. As far as coding languages go, I have a good bit of java under my belt but java seems to be abit dated, I'm defiantly going to be picking up python in the very near future.

    Well I'm already doing help desk work, not ideal but its something. The CCNA is another one that was strongly suggested I pursue. I've never personally had issue talking about what it is I know or don't know, but, I need to score the interview in the first place to be given that chance; kinda looking to make that step abit easier.

    I wasn't 100% sure where to stick this post, I'm looking for some input from people already in the industry or have experience with information security, mostly about what industry certifications are most important for entry level. I have the CompTIA a+ cert already with exams scheduled for security+ and networking+ as well. I addition to these what else should I consider and are the CompTIA certs as valuable as I've been lead to believe?

    huh, I haven't the faintest idea then.... and its not 4 4k monitors ill say that lol, just one asus 2k and 1k to make work easier but same cpu and ram, though i have the older 1070ti card for my main display, however i also use a 1050 to display the image on my second monitor.
