  1. Here's an update. When I was in the BIOS last night, I noticed the BIOS was from 2021. I updated the BIOS to the latest. Ran Memtest overnight at the XMP/DCOP rating, and ran without zero errors. I then ran it a 2nd time to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Zero errors again. I only have the free version of Memtest, so I can only do 4 passes per run. I ran OCCT also, as thats how I found out about these errors and ran for an hour with zero errors. As before the BIOS update, the errors would have happen within seconds of starting the test. I'm guessing the 2021 BIOS didn't like my ram and was not fully stable running at those XMP/DCOP settings.
  2. I played with the timings today. Anything running at 3200MHz or higher I would get errors. I even put the timings at 20-20-20-50 at 3200MHz and still would get errors. I even bumped the voltage high as 1.4, still errors. 3000MHz at 14-14-14-34 I get no errors. I do believe G.Skill has lifetime warranty on their memory, so it might be worth to RMA them.
  3. So I ran at 3000 MHZ at 14-14-14-34 and it passed. For tight timing, I bought this kit because it was advertised for 3200MHz 14-14-14-34 with XMP/DCOP. But what i'm really trying to figure out, with so many errors, why wasn't my system crashing/BSOD.
  4. Earlier today, I was playing around with OCCT. I did the Memory Test and errors were popped up instantly. I thought, this is odd as my system is running fine. Have no issues at all. So before I went to work, I ran Memtest. It only did 4 passes as I have the free version and it came up with almost 1500 errors. How do I have so many errors but yet my system runs perfectly fine. No BSOD, no shut downs, no restarts, no games crashing. System is: Ryzen 9 5900x MSI MEG X570S Max Ace G.Skill Trident Neo 32GB 2x16 GB 3200MHz 14-14-14-34 Seasonic Focus+ Gold 850 Watts Asrock Phantom Gaming 6800XT 16GB Samsung 980 Pro 500GB NVME OS Drive WD Green 2TB Storage Drive Crucial MX500 1GB Game Drive Games I play are: Cyberpunk 2077, Saints Row 2022, Doom Eternal, Red Dead Redemption 2, Far Cry 6, and WoW. I can play hours with zero issues. Everything is stock except I have my ram at DOCP which is 3200mhz 14-14-14-34. This is the same ram I used on my Asus Prime Pro X470 and Ryzen 5 2600x before I upgraded at the end of July. Is there something else I can test the memory with?
  5. With recent purchases of a Ryzen 9 5900x and MSI MEG X570S Ace Max, I decided to also upgrade my GPU. I'm looking at the Asrock Phantom Gaming D 6800 XT. How is the line up from Asrock? Where i'm looking, it's cheaper than the other 6800 XT's, plus it also has a $50 mail in rebate. I will be upgrading from a RTX 2070 but I will be giving it to my brother. Yeah, I know new stuff is just around the corner. But with the price of the 5900x and MSI Max Ace, I couldn't pass up.
  6. My Asus Prime Pro X470 has 7 USB's and thats not enough. I'm constantly plugging and unplugging things around. So the extra USB's will be helpful. I've also been doing media creation, and having the extra M.2 slots will be nice for transfer files back and forth. It may be late into the product cycle but AMD has already confirmed that they will continue to support AM4 when AM5 gets released. Main reason why i'm going this route is, with the shortage of DDR5, there's no guarantee there will be stock of it when AM5 releases. And if there is stock, chances are everything will be back ordered due to the high demand of lots of people upgrading to AM5. Plus when something new comes out, I wait for a year or 2. I built my Ryzen 5 2600x system a month before Ryzen 3000 came out. Only because, prices were dropping on Ryzen 2000 stuff. And with paying $400 CDN thats with tax for a 5900x, I couldn't say no to that.
  7. After looking around, I've decided on the MSI MEG X570S Ace Max. Has a massive 16+2 power phase with 90A power stage. 11 USB's on the back plus Type C Lightening plus 2 USB 3.2 onboard connector for 4 additional USB ports and front panel USB Type C. 4 M.2 slots. It also includes a M.2 Xpander card for 2 more additional M.2 slots. Plus then some.
  8. A few days ago I picked up a Ryzen 9 5900X for $400 CDN brand new. I couldn't pass that up. What motherboard would be a good fit for the 5900x?
  9. Is the Steelseries Apex 7 pretty good? It's local and need something now.
  10. Ordered the H100 V2 back in 2017 I do believe, and when I opened it, it was wet inside and noticed it was leaking from the hose fitting from the rad. And it had one of those things that said "Do not return to store, Contact Corsair Directly." So I contacted Corsair and they said it's not their problem and to deal with it myself. So much for that so called legendary customer service everyone talks about. I then contacted Newegg about it and they were even boggled on what Corsair said to me. They asked if I wanted to exchange it. Told them, just refund me. And I sent the cooler back to Newegg.
  11. Looking to replace my Corsair K70 keyboard. It's starting to show it's age. Looking for something that has Brown switches. My K70 has brown switches. Rather not have that RGB crap, but seems like majority of them have it. And MUST NOT be Corsair. I hate them with a passion. I got this K70 before I hated them. Looking for something that's similar to my K70.
  12. Temps like that are normal? These are my temps and i'm currently transferring files between my 2 of my other drives. These are my temps.
  13. I posted something about 1.5 weeks ago with having issues when gaming. Last night I seen Asus had a bios update for my Prime X470 Pro. So I downloaded it. Well about 2 hours ago, I flashed it to the new 5809, was 5601 before update. After it flashed. Message popped up saying it was successful, I clicked restart. It restarted and told me to press F1 to enter setup. Went into the BIOS to make sure it flashed proper and everything was in order. I exit to boot into Windows. While it was booting, it came up keyboard not detected but yet it was fine after the flash as it prompted me to press F1. Then the system restarted. Okay. Restarted. Came up with keyboard not detected again and it started to loop restart. Turned on system, turned off power supply and unplugged it. Pressed power button to drain any remaining power in the system. Pulled the CMOS battery out for 10 mins. Put it back in and it started fine. Booted into Windows. I then restarted to make sure everything was in working order. But while it was restarting, keyboard not detected popped up again but this time it booted into Windows and my keyboard was working. I restarted again, keyboard not detected popped up again and started to loop again. Pulled the CMOS battery. I was finally able to get into the BIOS after the 2nd CMOS clear. No settings were changed after I flashed the BIOS to 5809. After I exit the BIOS the 2nd time, keyboard not detected popped up once more. Clear CMOS for the 3rd time and everything was fine. It seems for it work proper right after this flash is to Clear CMOS everytime I restart my PC. It is possible to roll back to 5601 or could this be a sign it's time to replace it? I've always had issues with flashing the BIOS with it. Edit: Just checked the Asus site again and seen they have a new BIOS 5837 that was posted on there a few days ago. But yet wasn't there when I checked last night.
  14. My temps are fine. I'm running a NH-D15. My temps stay around 45-50 when gaming. I have even ran some 3D Marks and don't have issues. I posted a pic of a quick OCCT that I did. I also opened HWMoinitor couple mins into the test to compare the temps between the programs. And another pic of the inside of my case. My memory is also fine. That was the 1st thing I thought of. Ran MemTest86 for 24 hours. No errors. This was with the Ryzen DRAM settings I set.
  15. Past few days, after roughly 10-15 mins of game play, my PC starts lagging HARD. My framerates are steady at 120-150 fps *game depending* and then drop to 10 fps and under. Does this with all games. Once I force close the game, everything is stuttering pretty bad. Windows will not shut down nor restart from start menu. Even pressing the power and reset button don't work. I have to switch off my power supply for it to shut down. But it only happens when gaming for 10-15 mins. If I don't game after restart, everything works fine. I have scanned for viruses, malware, etc and every scan comes up with nothing. All my drivers are up to date, Windows is up to date. I even rolled back my gpu drivers to a couple versions back. I used DDU when uninstalled my gpu drivers. Ryzen 5 2600x @ 4GHz ASUS Prime Pro X470 G.Skill Trident Neo 2x16GB 3200MHz *timings have been tuned by Ryzen DRAM* Samsung 970 Evo Plus nvm 500GB Main Drive Seagate 2TB HDD Storage Drive Crucial MX500 1TB Game Drive EVGA RTX 2070 XC Black Edition Seasonic Focus+ Gold 850 Watts
  16. Who needs dummy ram when your heatsink and fans cover your ram lol. My new G.Skill Trident Neo 2x16GB 3200MHz CL14 kit. And I keep the pointless RGB off. I hate it with a passion. If I want lights, I'll put up a Xmas tree.
  17. Well, I seemed to have fixed it. After it did the freakish weird BIOS flash, my CPU voltage was auto set to 1.0 volts. I set it back to 1.25 volts and my CPU at 4GHz. I don't know what happened but it was not normal at all. With Zen 3 just around the corner, i'll be upgrading anyways. Just need this to chug away til that happens lol.
  18. I never got a disk with my motherboard. But I some how managed to flash my BIOS to the version 5601 which is the latest. But I didn't do it through the BIOS. I hopped on my laptop to see if there is a BIOS update. There is version 5601. So I downloaded it and put the file on my USB stick. I figured why not try this. Who knows it might work. Plugged the USB stick into my PC and started it up. And within 2 secs it asked me if I wanted to flash my BIOS. I wasn't in the BIOS for this command to prompt. I pressed Y to flash. It actually flashed this time. PC restarted. Auto booted into the BIOS and it was like nothing happened. Said Version 5601 at the top. Okay, good. Booted into Windows. But now, after 5 mins of being in Windows, I loose power to all USB slots, video goes black and is non responsive. My computer didn't restart. Did this 3 times in a row. I'm starting to think my motherboard is possibly dying or something else is wrong.
  19. Powered down the system. Unplugged from wall. Pressed power button few times. Removed battery for about 10-15 mins. Jumped the CMOS jumper. The same way I've been clearing the CMOS for roughly 20 years now. As I said, I just never seen anything like this before after clearing CMOS. This pic was taken after the CMOS was cleared. Ryzen 2600x ASUS Prime Pro X470 G.Skill Trident Neo 2x16GB 3200MHz 14CL B-Die EVGA RTX 2070 XC Black Edition Windows 10 3 Noctua 140mm PPC Industrial 3000 RPM NH-D15 Seasonic Focus Plus 850watts Gold I never had luck flashing this BIOS. It worked once when I flashed to Version 5007 and since them, every BIOS flash has failed. It would get half way through and would auto restart. I even tried talked with ASUS about it and they said they couldn't do anything to help and I was on my own. Last time I tried to flash the BIOS was maybe 4 months ago.
  20. So I restarted my PC, and when it tried to load Windows it gave me a 0xc0000221 error code, which is apparently a corrupted driver or system DLL. Well, I popped in my Windows 10 USB to do a system repair and go to the BIOS so it will boot from USB, I got this. I even cleared CMOS and it still came up like this. But what's even more messed up, my overclock is still there, not stock like it should have been. And what's even more weird is, in the pic it shows M.2_1:N/A but on the side it shows Samsung SSD 970 Evo Plus 500GB. It is possible my BIOS and/or motherboard are corrupted? I never seen anything like this before. Shortcuts keys and mouse doesn't work. I have to manually turn off my computer to get out of the BIOS.
  21. If you have read, no where did I say I'll be using it for water cooling. I want something so I don't have to use anything Corsair. All I talk about is air cooling.
  22. Yeah, above 4GHz, it starts getting a little power hungry. I did get it to 4.4GHz but my voltage was near 1.5v. A little much. I did run OCCT and Cinebench R20 for 15 mins each. Nothing crashed. I know not enough time. Temps were creeping up to 80 degrees. Wasn't comfortable with that.
  23. I did a couple restarts, and it seems to be reading proper now. On OCCT, Core Temp, HWMonitor and HWInfo64 *just installed it*. My idle temps are back to what they were before. Yeah, everyone likes my load temps. When I use both fans on my D15, I get about max temps of 47-48. I've actually had people say they don't believe me that I have temps like that for an air cooler. I've actually had my boost speed hit 7GHz on all cores once. Not sure if it was error or what. I haven't had any issues with it at all.
  24. So I got my new case in today. Moved everything over. But for some reason, my Idle temp stays at 40 degrees. Doesn't go any lower then that. Before I switched, it would be at around 25-27 on idle. But when I did 15 mins of Cinebench R20, temps stayed around 50-52 load. Then I went to OCCT within 10 secs and same thing after 15 mins. Load temps are the same. Nothing changed there. I don't know if my idle temps are reading proper. As you can see OCCT lowest said 28 but in HWMonitor is says 50. HWMonitor was running when I was running both Cinebench R20 and OCCT. I went from a Phanteks Enthoo Pro M *Mid Tower* to the Phanteks 719. CPU cooler is a NH-D15 running a single fan.
  25. I don't have the Grid, It's from other people who were having issues. Lots were saying mainly not having enough power to supply the fans. There was one guys who showed a pic of where the fan header melted.
