  1. I'm aware i can't combine both PC's to be more performant but i was wondering if managing both storage locations to be in the same place could be possible?
  2. Hey a bit of a weird niche question, So some time ago i was able to salvage some old school computers and thought i'd experiment a bit with them. I was very into having a Minecraft server network but the hosting costs make it hard to invest into something that will maybe not have many players on, wast of money in other words. Anyways, besides the point. I though to get the best performance out of these pc's while keeping it fully functional for a Minecraft server to run on would be to install Ubuntu server. I'd get Java running, screens, and vftpd to access files from anywhere. Running this instead of a Windows install seemed like the way to go. With no costs except the electricity and wifi which we paid already. The pc is an old hp pro 3130 i think. Has an i5-650 and i installed a total of 16gb of ram since it was the most capacity for that CPU. It's dual core so not especially power hungry. It runs totally fine, no issues Notice i said i was able to get 2 PC's, this is where my weird question comes into play. Both, FTP and SSH run on a default port, 21 and 22 i believe ( not respectively ). So a way to go about it would be to change the ports on which the FTP and SSH would bind to to a different one, but that puts me in a place where i'd need 2 different passwords and users to remember and no easy access to both PC's simultaneously (except opening another window but moving files aro/o und becomes complicated) SO i guess my question is whether it's possible to have 1 IP to connect to, with both locations acting as 1, RAM would be shared and CPU power too. Say PC 1 has a local IP of 192.168.0.50 and PC 2 has 192.168.0.60, you'd tell the proxy where to send players and the specific server port. On the local network that would not be an issue, but accessing the PC's from a distance without switching IP addresses is) Maybe there could be a way Filezilla goes to 1 location when connecting and inside would be 2 folders, that would redirect to each PC? Both PC's are running Ubuntu 19.04 For people who are stuck figuring out why i'm using 10 y/o PC's. I clearly said it's for experimenting around and just to play with a small amount of people while not having to spend crazy amounts of money. Got these for free so that's what i'm working with and limited to.
  3. I have still no clue what the issue is, but i have found a workaround for now. Once every 3-4 days the pc boots but doesn't initialize display. So the only thing that seems to help is unplugging the extra GPU power and removing the ram, booting once, then putting everything back as before. That seems to be the way to go for now, but i can't imagine this being healthy to the computer. I'm asking around at AMD, Asus and Galax to know if they have had similar issues. I'm just very confused that this happened randomly, i didn't have a single issue with it. But thanks for your comment anyway! Helps a lot.
  4. Ah that sucks. I don't think I have a bad RAM stick because i can actually start some heavy tasks. It just happens on very random occasions.
  5. Hello, I have this frustrating problem where I would just be on my computer as usual, not doing anything demanding, Discords, Chrome. And out of nowhere, my computer freezes and if it happens that there was a loud noise playing at that same exact moment, it would just spam it over and over again. My only options at this point is to force, power off the computer. This has never happened before, I had taken my computer downstairs in it's original box just so it wouldn't get dirty while I was away on vacation. When i came back, it booted fine the first time but I very quickly noticed something wrong. It felt the computer suffering over nothing, then froze. I try booting the computer on, and it doesn't work. All fans are spinning and lights are on. But no video. I had an orange light on the motherboard that would stay on which I had never seen it to. I found answers on the forum and it was about a problem with my RAM. So i changed the RAM from RAM slots to see if one was defect or maybe even my RAM sticks themselves, but I gave up. Next morning, what would you know. The computer boots up just fine. But the freezes would still occur and i feel like there are some things that are triggering it. For example. Being in a discord voice chat and using chrome at the same time. Would freeze the computer. These are my Specs, i built this computer myself and it has been running without any issue until very recently. I built it back in Januari. - ASUS Rog Strix B450-f gaming motherboard - AMD Ryzen 5 2600 stock - G.skill Trident Z RGB RAM 16GB - KFA2 (Galax) GTX 1060 6GB - 120GB SSD (Boot Drive) - 2TB HDD (Game storage and more) - Case, Corsair spec-06 white RGB My conclusion: It has to be drivers or something had happened to the computer, maybe it fell, maybe there is a short in the case somewhere, I'm just not sure Hope somebody can help me out. Ali, Addas.
  6. Interesting, Thanks for the help, I'll just order a VGA to HDMI adapter.
  7. Heya! I recently built my new computer and was planning to use a dual monitor setup. I have my main monitor (MSI Optix Mag241C) plugged in my graphics card's display port, but when I went to plug in my second monitor to the motherboard's Display Port, I wouldn't get any signal, not even a black screen, just nothing. So I did some research on this issue and pretty much every tutorial I have seen says that you should enable an option inside the motherboard's BIOS Settings. For Reference, I have a ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming motherboard from Asus. The option has something to do with the computer only letting you use 1 monitor by default. Because who uses 2 monitors anyway right? However, I never found any setting that said something along the lines of "Graphics Agent......". I have updated my BIOS to the latest version and I have checked the manual to see if there isn't anything talking about this. The way my monitors are set up now is that they (Obviously) both are plugged into the GPU, but my main monitor is using HDMI and my second monitor uses DisplayPort. I have a Freesync panel that works with my GPU (GTX 1060 6G) but i can only use that feature if it's using Displayport. Also I should note that my second monitor is VGA but i have an adapter so i can use Display port since i don't have any VGA slots. Hope you can help!
