They make up for reaction time with accuracy, the slower the mouse the more time it feels like you have to be able to click in the right spot. I personally have this issue, I tend to bounce my mouse when playing so I lower my DPI so I am more accurate when playing FPS competitive. But having one that is higher makes you have the ability to choose. (depending on the mouse)
