  1. I looked because it's happened before with the case fans, but they're all clear and run full-time so it wouldn't make sense why the sound stops after a bit. It's very odd right?
  2. Hi, All of the sudden, every time I power on my PC I hear a crackling sound for about 15-20 seconds that then goes away, until the next boot up. Any ideas on what it is? I Have searched google and someone with a similar problem had responses suggesting it's the AIO pump. My temps are fine and everything is in working order, it's just an awful sound to hear! Any info would be appreciated 20230126_181142.mp4
  3. Hello, so long story short is I have a pretty expensive high-end PC that I just built and I also have a roommate that I am currently helping out since they fell on hard times. Now, I don't ever want to accuse or assume any bad intentions, but just to be prepared, does anyone know of some software or a pc part I could install that would allow me to track it's location JUST IN CASE it were to magically go missing? Any advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated as I'm only trying to be proactive and having the ability to find my PC's location would be beneficial anyway! Thank you
  4. Hey everyone, so I built a new PC the other day and among the parts are a corsair hx1200 PSU and a 3090ti. As we know, the 3090ti requires 3- 8 pin connectors for the 12pin adapter. However, the psu only came with 3 daisy chained 8+8 cables. Do i use all 3 and settle for cables everywhere? I am pretty sure you arent suppose to use the daisy chained dual 8+8 cables, so where do I find 3 single 8pin cables? Please help thanks!
  5. So I figured out the issue, and it's pretty unique. Turns out my screw driver philips head wasnt getting enough grip/torque on the pump head screws, so even though it felt tight it was actually just losing grip. Different screw driver and it tightened up a bit more, now idling at 32c and max temps at 100% load at about 75-80c
  6. Technology wise I'd say for sure but the price is still out of reach for me personally. That dell UW oled is a thing of beauty though
  7. Thank you so much. I will look into tbe LLC! I will report back
  8. Hey thanks for the reply. Yes you are correct, i meant to say standoff holes, the ones on the mobo itself. My previous build was with an msi z270 and 7700k, and it only had the four holes, one size. And lol no I did not leave the plastic on as I have cleaned and reapplied paste as a troubleshoot. Do you think Asus bios has defaulted to any aggressive voltages/ power limit or settings that may result in high temps IF the cold plate is seated correctly?
  9. Hey there. I'm certainly no pro but I have built a couple pc's before, but always on msi boards. I got the ROG z790e this time for my 13900k and I got a corsair h150i elite lcd for the cooler but this is the first time I have ever seen 2 sizes of cpu cooler standoffs on a board and I dont understand which ones i should use, the outside ones or the inside ones. I used the outside and although the 13900k has idle temps in the mid 40's to low 50's, it hits 100+ and throttles under a stress test. I reseated the pump and used better paste but nothing. I did however notice one of the standoffs seemed slightly lower than the rest, so maybe bad contact? Or normal temps? Also wonder if the board defaulted to settings that cause high temps? Maybe unlimited power or high voltage? Curious of thoughts. Thanks!
  10. Sorry man your right, i was just freaking out and im a novice at best here on LTT but it wont happen again. Does coil whine develop randomly even after a year or so? My old card had coil whine and this is more of an electrical buzzing that at times sounds like electrical farting in the sense that it pulses quickly, almost a squeel and then goes constant. I was thinking it might be the pcie slot on the MOBO but EVGA thinks it is a power delivery issue on the card itself. Just really dont want to go the RMA route especially with all this covid stuff going on. Thank you for the reply
  11. Hello guys, my 2080ti ftw3 ultra started to act weird today aftee being great for months. When i open a game, it will pulsate a buzz sound at loading screens and go constant in game. I find it hard to believe it's just coil whine as it never did this before, but I'm curious to know what you guys think. Also, I noticed loading screens now take a lot longer than they use to. For more info and possibly unrelated, the other day I went to turn on my PC and i shocked the power button. When it booted, there was a bios error message that said settings returned to default. I replaced the CMOS battery, and it was fine from there but thats when I noticed the buzz. I've already replaced the PSU, HDD, and gpu power cables. Still happening. Is it possible the shock from my finger hurt the MOBO and is causing a buzz? No buzz under CPU or memory stress, just gaming.
  12. I get it now! Thank you for that. im new to ltt and forums in general. Alright i will keep my current set up thanks
  13. I have a rear 120mm exhaust and my 280mm aio with 2 fans exhausting on top. I have tried removing the side panel to see if temps dropped but i didnt see a measureable difference. As well as 3 120mm intakes in front. Is that a good set up?
  14. So I have an Ibuypower trace case that has 3 120mm intake fans in front seperated ONLY by a magnetic dust filter. I removed the front panel for maximum airflow. The center 120mm fan will be directly pointing on my 2080ti, the other 2 arent really that important and I feel that any fan would do just fine. But what fan would you recommend for the intake pointing at gpu to cool it the most? My thinking is that with no front panel and nothing blocking the fan inside the case, I should be looking for the highest airflow and not so much static pressure but I'd like to hear your thoughts! My main goal is to cool my gpu as much as possible. Every degree makes a difference
  15. You'll be the first to know, this weekend! I'll pm you my results. Til then, take care ?
  16. My brother actually gave me his alienware 34inch ultrawide 1440p monitor and although I can always drop settings to high or lower shadows etc, i really wanted to take advantage of the monitor's 120hz without sacrificing quality (coming from a 1080p ultrawide before so the drop was pretty huge). I know its stupid and certainly not worth it at first, but i did find a buyer for my 1080ti for 550$, so i was halfway there. My thinking was to be covered for another few years and will hopefully be worth it soon enough. What are your thoughts?
  17. Lmaoo oh no, it is though, trident z. Better get a 1200w just to be safe ?
  18. Sweet thats what i figured. I think i saw Linus build 2 2080ti's sli on 1000w so i shouldve known better lol. I actually have the auros 1080ti now and im a little sad to retire that beast of a card ? but its bittersweet of course! Take care and thanks again!!?
  19. Forgot to mention the 32gb 3200mhz ram but im sure 850w is still fine right?
  20. Yeah haha but no worries. Im seriously humbled by all the replies. Ltt is the best. Everyone else people just rip on me for not knowing things
  21. Thanks for the reply. It is an EVGA g2 850w 80+ gold
  22. Yeah your right and thats definitely great to hear considering how much a pain in the ass getting my power supply out was at first haha. Thank you for the reply
  23. Thanks for the reply. Thats great to know. Love your build too! So with that much headroom do you think I can OC the 2080ti as well? Although I probably wont considering the temps people are getting at stock lol
  24. Hello guys, I'm sure this has been covered at some point in one way or another, but I'd like to know what you think for my specific build. Currently, i have an evga g2 850w psu powering: -8700k OC to 4.8 on all cores -corsair h115i pro aio -1080ti -2 1tb ssd's -1 tb hdd -z390 mobo (msi pro carbon) -some led's -4 140mm case fans. I bought a evga xc gaming 2080ti that is coming in the mail soon. Do you think I am alright staying with my 850w psu or should i upgrade? Thanks for your thoughts
