I tried a different monitor and it worked fine. Switching back to this one and the issue was present again. So I guess it could be the monitor thats causing problems. Funny thing is, it only seems to happen in the morning while the monitor is cold from being off all night. If I shut down now and turn it back on it's fine. Maybe some connection has come loose but works fine once it warms up for a few seconds. The warrany expired, unfortunately.

Yea games are fine, no OC. I will try another monitor tomorrow.

(sorry for potato quality) This only happens on startup and then it's fine for the rest of the day. I tried reinstalling drivers and switching to another DP output but it didnt help. It's a Sapphire Radeon RX580 8GB.

It barely survived a year. That's dissapointing. At least the warranty is still good.
-
Why is it so random though?

I have no overclocks. The PSU should be powerful enough for this system. Due to the lockdown sitation, it's pretty awkward to go back and forth to the store or service to keep testing one by one component.

I get random shutdowns during gaming, folding and sometimes watching videos using MadVR. So it only happens during GPU load. I never had it happen during CPU-intensive work, such as video encoding. When the PC shuts down, the power LED stays on, but I cant turn the system back on unless I flip the switch on the back of the PSU. When it turns back on, the PSU fan gets louder and there is warm air coming out. Usually, even during gaming, the PSU stays pretty cool and almost silent. So I would say this is a problem with the PSU overheating, BUT it only happens occasionally. I can't reproduce it reliably. Why would it overheat one day, and then be fine for a week? It's a Corsair CX450, and it shouldn't have issues powering a Ryzen 5 2600 and an RX580. Has anyone had anything similar happen? Ask them to record the same games at the same settings as you, so we have a comparison.

Ask those friends to record the same game that you have. Its been years and I still haven't seen a side-by-side comparison.

Can you record gameplay in the same location now so we can see the differences?

If anyone can post a video of what their games looked like BEFORE the problem, that would be great.

Absolutely no difference whatsoever. Even in the Turkish thread there are no examples of it working. Why do people post "solutions" that don't work even for them, I will never understand.

Also, most competitive games will ban you for messing with LOD, you can't abuse this feature.

What is a "wrong cable" exactly? Everything I use (24pin, 8pin, CPU, SATA etc.) is properly connected. In fact, my PSU only has one 8pin PCI cable, that is powering my GPU.

I'm having the same flicker on my single monitor, it is caused by FreeSync. When I turn off FreeSync everything is OK. If you google "freesync flicker" you will find thousands of results with no fix. Yet another bug that will never be fixed unless it affects the stock prices.

You would probably need to use 8k downscaled to have 4k looking good.

If you look at the very first post, this is exactly what happened. Theres a side by side comparison.

Yea it looks the same as mine, from what I can see. But W3 doesn't look that bad. For me, the worst aliasing is in Crow's Perch, on all those buildings and the boards on the ground.
