  1. Yeah I understand the naming scheme, I just also feel if a large community like LTT created our own naming scheme we could legitimately change the way it works against USB's desire
  2. In light of the recent USB 4.0 2.0 nonsense going on I've decided to sit down and do some thinking on what USB should be named and this is what I've come up with. Curious on other thoughts and who knows, maybe we can create a community naming scheme and turn it around ourselves? (G1 and G2 = gen 1 and 2) USB 1.1 low speed = USB 1.0 USB 1.1 high speed = USB 1.1 USB 2.0 480mbps = USB 2.0 USB 3.0 5gbps = USB 3.0 USB 3.1 G1 5gbps = USB 3.0 * USB 3.1 G2 10gbps = USB 3.1 USB 3.2 10 gbps = USB 3.1.1** USB 3.2 20gbps = USB 3.2*** USB 4 40gbps = USB 4.0 USB 4 80gbps = USB 4.1 * USB 3.1 G1 is the exact same protocol as USB 3.0 ** USB 3.1.1 is the exact same protocol and speed as 3.1, just for USB C. The_._.1 is a demoner specifying that *** USB 3.2 onwards are USB C only protocols If this is enjoyed I will gladly create a proper Google sheets and regularly update both it and this post!
  3. You have to retarget them. OneDrive can be just moved to the position mentioned below but follow steps for the rest. Step 1: Right click each item one at a time and click properties Step 2: Go to the location tab and hit "Move" Step 3: Go to your C (or whatever drive letter your windows install is in) /Users and click (not open) your user name. It should highlight blue (mine is just circled. it should highlight as it is selected) Step 4: click "Select Folder" and you will be all set!
  4. Well ill update it was a bad mobo and CPU. Got an i7 9700k now
  5. So this is pretty much what is going on I have an intel i7-4790k which was originally on a test bench. Well, something ended up happening and i did a linus and the bench fell while running. The motherboard is a MSI z97 gaming 5. When attempting to boot, i get a post code error 03 which according to the manual is pre north bridge initialization. Nothing comes up on screen, and it will freeze here until reset or psu is switched off. If left alone sometimes it will shut off and reset by itself showing post code 00 but usually itll just stay on and show 03. I have another motherboard which is much cheaper from MSI. It has no post code or beeps and when turned on it just sits there with the fan running nothing on the screen. The functionality of both boards is unknown as I do not have another cpu to test and ive never seen the cheaper board work. Do i assume the motherboard is bad and go for a new one? Or should i chase down another cpu/psu and see if one of those are the culprit? I am honestly lost at this point. This is my first post here so im sorry if i did anything wrong
