  1. Ok somewhat reassuring replies, i will also answer the questions asked. I have a rather ujique build with the radiators stacked ontop. Image attached. I ran some stress testing using prime95, the set the cpu to maximum load, i left it running for 5 minutes. According to core temp the cores varied between 81 - 97 degrees but still those tubes and the radiator for it stayed the same, no warning up.
  2. Perhaps a slightly misleading title, I have 2 separate loops on my pc, the GPU runs as it should, the liquid and radiators get warm and hot when working hard. However I cannot say the same for the CPU, no matter how hard I push it the liquid just does not seem to warm up, even under load. I have a 4790k running at 4.5ghz overclocked, it idles around 36 - 41 across the cores and around 60 - 65 when playing resource hungry games etc.. but heres the thing, the loop itself does not get hot. At the same time, the CPU does not overheat does this sound normal? I am using chrome plated copper tubing and even touching the tubes near the CPU block inlet and outlet, I do not feel any warmth. If there was any I would definitely feel it! Should I Worry? One other strange phenomenon I have noticed is that the coolant in the CPU loop (Mayhem Pastel Red) has gone very dark in colour and did so not very long after installing it. The same coolant is being used in the GPU loop and has kept its bright colour. Looking forward to your feedback. Nayth
  3. Hi guys, I think I am running into some connection issues with the usb 3.0 header on my mobo (maximus impact vii) my case is an Evolv Shift X and I am using the cable supplied with the case. I am finding that when having devices plugged into these two USB ports every now and then the signal will seem to drop, i have tested with the ports on the back of the mobo and they seem to be fine. What might you guys suggest is the issue? Hardware or Software. Many thanks, Nayth
  4. Got an answer from the seller of the cable so no need for further replies. "We are sorry about this problem,I understand the problem, because the chip for the extension lead and usb c cables is different,so when they use together, there are signal problem, normally the 2m/6.6ft length is long enough for most people,so we don't have extension lead to sell"
  5. Hi all, I bought myself a portable monitor for my desk setup, an Asus MB16AC to be precise. After setting up the drivers it has been working well, however I do want to look it a bit more tidier in terms of cable management. The stock cable and adaptor is a good meter too short so I hooked it upto a spare usb extension lead which i had, JuicyBits 1m if this is relevant, it had good reviews and feels thick good quality. However my the monitor does not seem to like being connected through the extension lead in addition to the USB one, from observation it looks as though it is struggling to draw enough current to power it? It flicks on and off etc.. What I want to know is there perhaps a solution for this? I have tried a couple of other extension leads I have, same length and brand and the same issue. I have tried other usb 3.0 slots on my Mobo, still the same issue. My motherboard is a Maximus Impact VII if this also helps. Looking forward to responses, let me know any other info that is needed. Cheers, Nayth
  6. These are the results, relatively happy and amazing what you can do with a few standoff screws. Having to sacrifice a coupe of usb slots due to the spacing of holes on the lid but i dont use many usb devices myself.
  7. So what you are saying is this should be fine? Still i cant see there being any harm in adding a fan there. Will let you know how I get on, think I'll go for the larger fan as I'll have to somehow secure it to the mesh which will be fiddly on its own.
  8. Thanks for that, yeah I'm aware they will be a bit noisier as they are smaller, wouldn't say I'm having temperature problems with the components, they run at mid 60 with resource heavy games however i do feel a hotspot builds in that empty space, the lid is kind of meshlike too so popping a fan there can easily blow it out and help keep the case a bit more cooler. What i want to know with the fan choice is what would move the most air, taking into consideration the route the air can be pulled from.
  9. Hi there, looking to help my case exhaust a bit more hot air than it is currently doing. I have a custom water loop in a Phanteks Shift X case with 3 x 120mm fans for input going through rads and 1 x 140mm fan to exhaust above. Anyone who is familiar with this case will know there is a bit of void space in the top between the lid and motherboard slots. With some measuring I can easily fit a 90mm fan or 2 x 60mm fans. However I would like to know what would be the better option as it inst exactly a clear route for the air. an 90mm fan would not stretch very far over both gaps however 2x60mm ones would. Hope the attached image helps get my question across. I will be getting Noctua brand fan(s) as they are highly rated brand for performance and sound. Looking forward to the responses. Nayth
  10. Apologies that it has been a while however i am getting things done today! all i need to do is cut a hole in the top of the case to pass my flex tubing through and then I will be done! I'm pretty haply with the results so far!
  11. Long awaited update, after 29 days exactly from ordering one out of two of the splitters has arrived, i was a little worried about the finish of the product initially but it looks nice and smooth.
  12. This case is very heavy and not the easiest to move with its shape, the first time i filled it up was with a liquid syringe in the top of the reservoir (this took ages). I have yet to drain it but presumed it may be difficult so putting a fill port at the highest point when I get around to it will help with draining, filling and flushing it in the future?
  13. I've also been thinking about the fillport and where this could go to not make things ugly. I have ordered another T-fitting which i will fit into the below space in place of the tube, then i will have a tube going upwards where i may cut a hole in the case for it to fit through. Images will come once i have the finishing results.
  14. So following of from this I have aquire a few parts, although the squareness of theT-Fitting made by barrow is not ideal with this setup, as I will be changing it to come straight out of the rad the fan is getting in the way just a little too much. After searching through various manufacturers sites i couldnt find anything other than horrible square fittings and splitters. Therefore i have taken to ordering a splitter on ebay from Hong kong, I'm hoping it will fit much better and keep my circular aesthetic. As it is simply a chunk of metal with 3 threaded holes I don't feel that much can go wrong. Tell me what you guys think.
  15. Thanks for the input, regarding the drain that is also where i thought would be best, although space restrictions. What I could do Is change the pipe coming out of the rad to go straight up freeing up a little space and putting a t-piece there, although the xspc ball valve is a little chunky. Do you know any which are a bit smaller or shorter? Otherwise the only other option i could think of would be to use a bit of flex tubing going around to the other side of the pump.
