The GTX 1650 Super requires a PCI-E 6-pin power connector.

    Do you have that connected?

Are you plugged into the the motherboard currently (e.g. using the iGPU)?

If you are using the VGA port on the graphics card / motherboard / monitor, then yeah, it the source would be VGA, and not HDMI...

You also didn't list system specs...

    From what I can see:

    • Intel i7-8700 (non-K)
    • *some* ASUS motherboard (which model ?? )
    • 16GB (2 x 8GB) of DDR4-2400 RAM
    • 1TB Samsung SSD + 500GB WD Blue SSD + WD 2TB HDD
    • Unknown PSU

    See up above.

Driver's come AFTER the BIOS, and after/during when Windows loads from the boot HDD / SSD.

If you are instantly being kicked into BIOS, and unable to make it into loading Windows, driver's may not be the problem.

You don't need to install the drivers before-hand.

You can uninstall / install the drivers after you get into Windows with the new card.

Best practice is uninstall the drivers for the old card (left with no drivers), before install the new card into the PC.

Do you get any display when your monitor is plugged into the graphics card?

Do you even see the ASUS logo?

I actually uninstalled my old 960 drivers, and then shutdown my pc, before installing my new GPU.

Currently, even with my old GPU plugged(with HDMI), I’m still stuck on VGA.

  3. I decided to get a new gpu today, after years of my old one(NVIDIA 960).

However, I did something really dumb. I didn’t install the drivers for my GTX 1650 Super BEFORE physically installing the card.

Now, I’m stuck in BIOS(yes, I’ve tried reinstalling my old card, and my new card)

Im even tried to use my Integrated graphics, ASUS, but I still keep getting kicked to BIOS.

Edit: I also updated my BIOS

  4. Hi, I'm about to start my Information Systems & Technology degree, and I'm wondering if my current laptop setup is sufficient.

I currently have this laptop, https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B075FLBJV7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Edit: By "upgrade" , I'm really meaning memory, RAM, graphics, not necessarily getting a brand new laptop.

  5. Well, sorry for my earlier reply then. Different genres are good. I've been doing more Schmups/Bullet Hell games, versus FPS/Stealth games.

The Summer Sale was stupid this year and there were no good sales on any good games, so I didn't spend a single cent. That also means I didn't boost my level, either.

    There's a 80% off for Hitman GOTY Bundle(2016) series, which I got.

Borderlands 2 is 75% off, and The Handsome Collection is 97% off.

Yeah it's not as great as before, but Witcher 3(70% off) and Far Cry 5(67% off).

You get the picture. Mostly what I got were smaller games, like Schmups(Binding of Isaac:Rebirth, Metal Slug 3)

i've fixed the problem that i had before with a factory reset and an ram upgrade so i don't think that the problem is the hardware.

I had this problem only with dying light wich is not too heavy game, i play at the division 2 at ultra without problems

You can’t rule that out. Just use the Speccy program to be sure.

  8. Try downloading Speccy, and see if any components(GPU, RAM, etc) are running hotter than they should be. I've had Far Cry 5 freeze on me a few years ago, and that was because my mobo was running really hot, 95 degrees F. Do you have updated drivers for your graphics card? All I could think of off the top of my head.

Edit: Looking at your previous posts, this doesn't look like a game issue per se, but a hardware issue.

  9. This happen about almost 2 years ago IIRC. Anyway, I had my front-panel connectors on my mobo, and for some reason I though "Hmm, what would happen if I put these in a different part on the mobo?"

Long story short, I started playing Doom 2, and about 1 minute in I see some smoke coming from the inside of my case. I pause the game, and look inside, and then less than 30 seconds later, I see actual flames in my motherboard. I quickly yank my power cord out, and take out my front-panel connectors. Fortunately, nothing is really damaged, and I'm later able to play my games just fine.

  10. For at least 4-5 months, I have been meaning to upgrade to an i-7, and my RAM from DDR3 to DDR4.

I'm pretty new to building a pc, I have however completely rebuilt a pc from scratch last year, an improvement from 2017.

Part of the reason I wanted to start a new build was because I had an older motherboard(GIGABYTE GA-H81M-S2PH 1.0 micro-atx LGA 1150),

but it didn't support my new CPU(LGA 1151), and was only DDR3 compatible.

This was quite a journey for me, I though I had a too big gpu(was actually supposed to be in a io shield spot 1 space down) and almost took part of the gpu fin off.

Thankfully, nice people at Geek Squad gave me help and common sense advice.

Making my build easier is that I've had my NVIDIA 960 for almost 3 years.

I will be naming my PC, and his name is Aqua. If and when I'm a father, my son will be called "Other Kid", in the presence of Bob.

I've purchased all my parts over 2 months, while having sold my old case, cpu, etc.

2 months without a pc isn't hard, but it sure is different.

This has been an emotional journey.

    Thank you.

  11. Hi, I have a GTX 960 graphics card and a H370-A ASUS Motherboard, and am building in a NXZT H500 case. I've already used the pre-installed standoffs and screwed them in. I've also taken out a few of the case grills.

However, it seems my gpu is too large(it keeps hitting my mobo when I try to install it).

Is the a problem with how I installed the motherboard, or is it my motherboard vs gpu size that is the problem?

    My PCPartPicker list:

For reference: This guy was able to install his GTX 1070 on a very similar mobo, H370-PLUS , with little problem.

My installation was pretty much the same, and I mounted my mobo on the same position standoffs.
