  1. Also, in the old case I used the fan controller on the case so no headers on the mobo other than cpu fan were being used. This header worked back then.
  2. So I recently purchased a new case and a set of noctua chromax fans. After moving all of my hardware into the new case, the fans I have on my AIO aren't spinning. Every other fan in the system spins except the CPU FAN and CPU OPT on my ASUS Strix X-370f mobo. The AIO header and all CHA fans work fine. I thought maybe my headers weren't getting any power, but after plugging an old fan (with only 3 pins instead of 4) into the CPU header it spun for a second then stopped. Plugging the fans into other headers works too, but I need to use these two to run all of my fans. It's not the fans and I really don't think its the mobo either. I've made sure the BIOS is up to date and everything. Any idea what this could be?
  3. I seem to be getting far lower than expected fps in destiny. Even just standing in the tower I sit between 70-80 fps while doing nothing. This is at 1440p with a gtx 1080 and r7 1700. Any idea why I'm not getting the ~110 most people online with similar setups seem to be getting? My system is running benchmarks and other games exactly as expected, it seems to be just destiny that suffers.
  4. update 2: I have not changed any settings in games, however I checked my event log after a crash and noticed the error 0xc0000005 which looks to be memory related. I believe this issue may have been due to a bad stick of ram as the games tested seemed to be the only ones where my system RAM usage has gone over 8gb on this 16gb kit.
  5. update: I've done a fresh install of windows and am still having the issue, at least with BF1. I haven't tested the other games since I haven't finished reinstalling everything.
  6. The option in windows to basically do a new install but keep files and such. It fails to do so when I attempt this.
  7. So when I try to reset the PC, it always fails and says it can't do it. I've tried twice now.
  8. A few weeks ago I upgraded from an old FX 8350 to a Ryzen 7 1700, and from a 1080p monitor to a 1440p monitor. Ever since this change, some games will stop and windows will say the game has stopped working and I get the option to debug. Since this isn't a hard crash I'm not sure what is going on. I'm running the 1700 on an ASUS X370-F Gaming mobo, with 16gb of G.skill rgb ram and a gtx 970. I've removed all overclocking to make sure that's not the problem and nothing changed. Divinity Original Sin 2 seems to be fine, but BF1 seems to be the most common crash, followed by FFXIV. Could this be an issue with VRAM since my 970 wasn't targeted toward 1440p?
  9. In that case, assuming I end up with an AMD GPU and not Nvidia, do y'all know the difference between Freesync and Freesync 2? I've never paid the Nvidia tax at this point for gsync, but it obviously seems to do its job better so far.
  10. I am about ready for an upgrade, but I'll have to do it in three steps. Those would be GPU, CPU (and accompanying parts), and Monitor. Currently I have a GTX 970, an FX-8350, and some random office class 1080p monitors. Deciding between the following, which would probably be wisest? - 1080p 144hz G-sync Monitor - Ryzen 7 1700 (RAM and MOBO too) - GTX 1080 I'm leaning toward CPU and waiting to see AMD's offerings with new graphics cards, but I am getting really tired of screen tearing.
  11. If you're in the US, currently have a phone, and are on Verizon or AT&T, they're doing 200 bucks back for a trade in. The Galaxy s8 would be 550 then.
  12. I had a similar issue recently with my Logitech g810's windows key. It ended up being that the switch for the key was partially detached and would sometimes trigger itself as though it was being held down. Even unplugging the keyboard didn't help once the issue began. I had to have a replacement sent out under warranty. If nobody has a solution for your keyboard, I'd check to see if the 5 key's switch looks or feels like it is coming loose.
  13. I have no answer for you, but I can tell you that it took forever for me to even get a stable version for Windows 8.1. I don't have my hopes high for 10.
  14. Well, I didn't have a restore point but I set one up after I solved the problem. I did a clean install of GeForce Experience and also uninstalled programs that have been modified the past few days that I didn't know were legit for sure.
