  1. Finally took the time to remove the video card and I was able to see post and get into UEFI. Long story short I'm back in business able to switch back and forth between the two boot drives now after a fashion. The only setting that I changed and I do remember changing this was a setting that I'm too lazy to get the exact wording for but basically was how many seconds to hold before boot. I think it was 6seconds before and I do remember dropping that 1s. That doesn't explain to me why I was seeing not output especially when pushing my Del key did seem to put me into the UEFI (blind). Anyway I changed that to 9s and tested it a few times and it's all good. I had a minor scare when I forgot to plug the power to the graphics card back in but aside from that it was relatively smooth getting back up and running. Thank you for the idea @PineyCreek. I can finally get back to learning Linux on the weekends.
  2. I've had the card for months (actually it's been a year now) with no issue but thank you good idea. I'll try that next break and see if that does anything.
  3. The System Motherboard: ASRock B450 Pro 4 CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3200G Video: Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 580 8 GB Video Card Storage: - Windows Boot: Crucial MX500 500 GB M.2-2280 SATA Solid State Drive - Linux Boot: Western Digital Blue SN550 500 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M Pro4/index.asp The original post Since then I've tried three different ways to reset the UEFI-BIOS. I found instructions online [nicehash] and I tried all of those but nothing worked. (Apologies if I seem overly concise at this point it's 1am and i just accidentally hit control q instead of control w and have to retype everything out a fourth time.) I've tried the instructions on that link. I used a screwdriver to connect the two contacts. There were some irregularities with my manual but very small things like saying CMOS1 in the manual but CMOS2 on the board. I hunted the board but didn't see any other CMOS jumpers so I assume it's some sort of printing error because the manual doesn't have a CMOS2. I also tried to follow the instructions IN the manual (2.5, p26) and still nothing. I was able to verify my UEFI keys and testing by spamming the keys anyway puts my computer into a dead zone where everything is black no signal but the computer doesn't go anywhere. I thus have concluded I'm not actually by passing my post screen but I get no video out during post which is the same issue with a different cause. I have my setup using two DPouts from the RX580. I tested both HDMI outs I tested the DVI out, and I tested on the mobo the DVI, and HDMI outs and none of those are getting signal either. I went into my windows power settings and turned off fastboot though at this point I think I've already ruled that out as a cause.
  4. The System Motherboard: ASRock B450 Pro 4 CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3200G Video: Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 580 8 GB Video Card Storage: - Windows Boot: Crucial MX500 250 GB M.2-2280 SATA Solid State Drive - Linux Boot: Western Digital Blue SN550 500 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M Pro4/index.asp I was trying to switch to my Linux drive this weekend (My weekends are Wed/Thurs) when I noticed my computer not going to the ASRock POST screen. I already have this issue where my Mountain Everest Max doesn't work until the OS boots which is odd but I can get another keyboard. I've been testing creating a shortcut in windows to reboot to UEFI which I thought was working. I swear it worked the first time but after that it just reboots to black and if I wait too long eventually it goes straight to Windows. I've tried spamming delete which i think is my key. I tried spamming F2, F11 and F12 which might be the key but in every case nothing happens for a much longer time than I would normally anticipate and then it goes straight to Windows login. It is true I was in the BIOS yesterday and while there looking around I changed two settings. One had to do with MBR compatiblity and I don't recall the other except to say that I checked for FastBoot and it was off and after reading on it I decided to keep it off. But at this point I have no idea why I'm not getting my POST screen. Still I have no problems resetting the entire BIOS if that fixes the issue and I'll go through and setup everything again. Just not entirely sure how to do that. Any ideas on how to do that or anything else I could try to get my system working properly would be appreciated. Cheers. See you in the morning.
  5. You'd probably have to hook both the headset mic and the XLR mic into an audio interface and then use the audio interface to switch the source. What kind of headset do you have?
  6. You can get some over here https://filesamples.com/formats/flac and since you want to compare FLAC vs MP3 I was gonna suggest some royalty free stuff I have but I dunno if I can share them I can give you a link to Bandcamp they have both. https://tvtorso.bandcamp.com/album/clear-lake-strangler
  7. Been trying this for days and it seems I finally got something that works. As per this thread on the Adobe community. I moved the install to PF instead of PF (x86) and that seems to have gotten it to boot. I wish I knew where it was when this stopped working because I've been using this software for years with zero issue. There's no options on the website to pick a 64bit version or have a 64bit install.
  8. Yeah the program I use for library books just suddenly won't launch. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it from a fresh installer from the website. I've restarted my computer. I've uninstalled it using chocolatey and reinstalled it using chocolatey. I cycle through books fairly heavily so I deleted my book download folder. Before I stopped launching my last two books were broken so I'm not sure if that's related to it. I've also tried running as admin. Edition Windows 10 Pro Version 21H2 Installed on ‎5/‎5/‎2021 OS build 19044.1766 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4180.0 Device name Processor AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with Radeon Vega Graphics 3.60 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display When i open Adobe Digital Editions. I get a blip on the task manager. I'm open to suggestions if you have any on things I can try to get this working again. [Video]
  9. Usually i have my Sennheiser HD 598 plugged into a random audio switch I got on Amazon. I have the other side attached to some random deskspeakers my sister had for when I don't want to have headphones on. It's fine for the most part but I have issues with things like when I want to hear my switch lagfree or listen to my firestick. Both of which plug into my monitors and both of which have 3.5mm plugs sticking out the bottom to insert into my switch when I want to hear audio from them because my switch does a decent job of switching outputs but it doesn't really switch inputs so I have to unplug and replug. I also think my headphones are too quiet I might have introduced too much resistance in my setup or something. Every time I start looking at solutions I keep starting at an audio interface but three different in puts I want to manage and two outputs and maybe my mic (right now it's a USB Snowball but maybe I want to get a TRS or XLR mic) and I keep ended up looking at mixers. EarTrumpet is my software of choice for audio control. That and VB-Virtual Cable are kinda awesome.
  10. Blatant Spam? Check As far as music goes I miss Songza. One of many services that Google bought.. killed off (to put into Google Music) which was ... frustrating but at least it was still there and i could use it and now it's completely dead and gone.
  11. I think it's weird to be so screen obsessed we'll cut a notch into the screen just so we can say we have a .1inch more larger screen. or a .1 inch smaller bezel. Bezels were never the problem and treating them like they were is how we end up with phones with notches and bullet holes. On the mac functionally it looks like we're just introducing waste of space screen that doesn't really do much. That's a lot of design work for a screen that will be used just for the main menubar.
  12. Is it weird I assumed this was about subscription services and I kinda assumed this could apply to any of them.
  13. I've had good experiences with AliExpress generally but I've definitely had no shows. I ordered fake rocks so I could put a spare key in my backyard and twice nothing. I've tried to order pop filters an embarrassing 3 times and each time from different stores nothing. But I've never had a bad flash drive from the 6-7 I've ordered. One of them was so tight I pulled the components out of the casing but it still works and now it's going be a stealth backup drive that I keep in a safe or something. I get my A5 notebooks pretty regularly. It's been up and down. i'd say I've been more disappointed in the products than had products not show up. That said I tend to buy in the <$50 price range.
