  1. Yeah I will definitely be overclocking the cpu that's why I was leaning towards the water cooler. But you do have a point tho. Get an air cooler with and 9700k and get water cooler later. Can you think of any air coolers that would efficiently cool an overclocked 9700k? The Aorus atc700 looks good and would ho along well for cosmetics with the mobo. If I get an aircooler and the geforce 2070 windforce instead of the 2070FE, altogether that's a saving of almost upto 150. That would be more than enough to get the 9700k.
  2. Between an 8700k and a 9700k. If I'm going for the i7s shouldn't I get the newer 9th gen cpu ? And even on amazon here the 9700k is cheaper.

I'll get another HDD down the line soon. And the GPU I'll get is the 2070 FE not the asus.
  4. Don't worry about posting here. I need as much information as I can get because 1400£ is a huge investment that i won't be making everyday.
  5. Thanks a lot for your help. I'm much less confused now then I was a couple hours ago. Still could you tell me something about the overclocking abilities of the asrock motherboard?
  6. And like the suggested build even if I do go for the 2080 the i59600k would be good enough for it without causing any bottlenecks ? And also about overclocking. Is the motherboard good for overclocking the cpu. And overall is overclocking even worth all the trouble ? I've seen conflicting opinions and even though time consuming, it can result in some performance gains.
  7. Would it be worth getting the i7-9700k and keeping all the other components the same? It's almost double the price but is the performance difference that significant?
  8. Are all freesync compatible monitors now compatible with nvidia gsync too ?

  10. Thanks Luke i really do like your suggested build. The Case makes alot more sense as it is considerably cheaper and has better airflow options. PSU 550 or 500 I didn't give much thought as i think the overall wattage was under 400 and that might be okay. ( again inexperienced so might not be right) Is the RTX 2080 really worth it though ? I Really like the look and build of the founders edition 2070 and I'll probably buy a kit to mount the card vertically. Also would it make no difference if i use a AIO water cooler for the CPU or is the arctic freezer you mentioned just as good ?
  11. Hi I'm from the UK and plan on building my first PC. I'll be using the pc for mostly playing games and some video editing of drone footage. My budget is £1300 but maybe upto £1400 is the extra performance gain is worth it. The parts that I think i should use are CPU : intel core i5 9600k GPU : Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070 FE Mobo : Gigabyte Aorus Pro Ram : Kingston hyper x predator rgb 2×8GB Storage: 150 GB M.2 NVMe ssd , 2 TB Barracuda sata III hdd CPU Cooler : nzxt kraken x62 PSU : corsair txm 500watt 80+ Case : NZXT h500i I'll be primarily trying to play games at 1440p and plan to buy a monitor with gsync (not included in the 1300 budget) As I don't have much experience just wanted opinions. Based on videos, reviews and budgeting this was the best build I could come up with, But don't know if the 9600k would bottleneck the RTX 2070. Also any recommendations for the 1440p monitor would be appreciated. The dell 24" gaming monitor seems kind of good. But should I even trouble myself with Gsync is it worth all the extra money I'd have to pay for the monitor ?
