So I was thinking and I realized: since graphics card slot to the outside anyway, would it possible to power one if it had the proper input on the outside as well the voltage regulation, or is there more in the way? I thought if possible, this might make it a bit messier on the outside, but cable managements on things like SLI and crossfire much simpler on the inside

Hi everyone, first post. as I've been recently getting into the tech sector, I wanted to build my own system. I planned out the build, took tips and pointers and ended up with the end choice rig. However, all my parts are here, except the case, which is now being heavily delayed in shipping. I know that it's acceptable to use the motherboard box as a sort of test bench to make sure all components work before you screw everything into the case, and also open-air benches are kind of the same concept, but how long could you run a setup on a box before it starts to have a detrimental effect on the parts?
