  1. I have a Sony Bravia X900H TV and a Sony UBP X700 4k blu ray player. I was watching Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down, both 4K HDR. Picture and audio cut out for a half second then come back. I wonder if it's a handshake issue between the player and TV. But I don't know how to diagnose or troubleshoot. I updated both the player and the TV, the TV uses Android and the player uses its own OS I think. I get no notification, or pop up form the TV that says device not found which it usually says if it loses connection. I unplugged the HDMI real quick while a movie was playing to see if it would blackscreen, but it had a pop up message, which doesn't occur for the half second blackout. So I don't know if it's a handshake issue. I wonder if it's my player itself. But it was $200 and I can't replace it or use another player. It doesn't happen with my PS4, Roku, or Spectrum DVR
  2. I have social anxiety so I have a hard time finding people to play with. This is my steam account. I would like to get into Elder Scrolls online but it's an MMO and I don't know anyone who plays it.
  3. You should upgrade your PSU right away. A bad PSU will take a whole system with it. Make sure to buy one with a good warranty. Never buy one used or refurbished.
  4. I have Spectrum's Motorola DVRs that have very small HDDs and are about 10 years old. Somehow they still work. They're still Spectrum's official DVRs so there's no new model. I know TIVOs have all the streaming capabilities like Netflix and what not. I was wanting to get a TIVO but it's a whole process to take the DVRs back and get cable cards whatever the heck those are.
  5. I have Cities with all the expansions and many mods but the mods throw up errors for missing assets. I love taking photos in it though. But yeah that's a great one to take photos in. I try to pick games off the beaten path too, like Cities. Also older games and games that may not have much attention. I just beat Earthbound on my emulator. I'm playing Katana Zero and Cyber Shadow right now and trying to get action shots in those.
  6. Are you a beginner? If so, then getting yourself a budget monitor to start out with until you get deeper into the craft is perfectly fine. When I was just starting out with photography, I used a cheap budget monitor for a year until I upgraded to an Asus Designo a year later. Nothing we do in the first year is going to be scrutinized like our later work anyway, so first year stuff can be rough around the edges and it's ok. If you've been doing this for a while, then I would advise you to stick with what you have and wait to save up about $400 for a real design monitor. Is color accuracy vital? If so, then you want as close to 100% SRGB as possible, and monitors in that price range typically don't advertise their color accuracy so you need to dig deep in the specs. Most monitors don't actually advertise it unless it's a specialty monitor because most consumers don't understand the RGB color space, and they're more interested in refresh rate and brightness. Also, contrast ratio is a meaningless number because it's not standardized, so pay no attention to that when shopping. I have a good one here that seem to fit for you. It has 99% sRGB reproduction, although it might not be as vibrant as a more expensive model, but for $170 you're getting a good value and price/performance. (Update, I have another one below. Dell is known for good displays) https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories-and-monitors/monitors/home/L24q-30A19238QL023-8inch-Monitor-HDMI/p/65FBGCC1US?cid=us:sem|se|google|ca+smart+shopping+accessories+non-intel|gs_accessories||65FBGCC1US|12111973117|115095911503|pla-1139772220953|shopping|brand&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItI_Vy6307gIVIz2tBh1Kvw8VEAQYAiABEgKHhPD_BwE https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1222870-REG/dell_u2417h_24_16_9_ips.html?ap=y&ap=y&smp=y&smp=y&lsft=BI%3A514&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItI_Vy6307gIVIz2tBh1Kvw8VEAQYAyABEgLKlPD_BwE
  7. ok I'll do that. I just want the sticker because it reminds me how long I've been an LTTer. Looking at your stickers I think it might be the first blood actually. I was kind of a douchebag back then though. I had undiagnosed depression so many of my posts and comments on that account were negative.
  8. I contributed to LTT forums financially back in 2013 and I got a bronze sticker, but I lost the account. I think I know the email address I used for it, but every login attempt was wrong. How do I fix this?
  9. Does Ansel work well? I read a little about it. Is it easy to navigate? I tend to take over 100 pics in my games and I need the ui to be easy and fluid. Is it in some beta stage or is it in full release version?
  10. Ok cool. As long as I don't need extremely precise movements and perfect timing. I know the remaster had good graphics. I bought it for $10 and never got around to it.
  11. I have that from a PSN sale. Is that game hard? I have trouble with my coordination and I have to play games on the easiest mode.
  12. I'm an out of work photographer and this winter has been rough. I enjoy taking photos in games and I get really into it with angles and lighting and everything, so I decided to start an Instagram for my screenshots. I usually play PS4 because the share button is easy to use. I just got one of the new Xbox controllers with a share button on the front so I can do PC games now. So what games do you think have good photo modes and would potentially look good on Instagram?
  13. Is anybody else having problems with Facebook being unstable and laggy? I bought my mom a $500 Asus Vivobook in 2019 with a Ryzen 5 quad core multithreaded and 8 GB RAM so she can use Facebook. That should be more than enough for Facebook. And Facebook is basically unusable. I have a 3600X and 32 GB ram on my system and it's still a little slower than it should be.
  14. My nephew lives on an Air force base and I have to use Amazon. I saw this on Amazon and it has 1400 good reviews but I don't trust Amazon reviews. I don't trust online reviews either anymore lol. So anyone have experience with them?
  15. The game is F'ed. It was F'ed at launch 5 years ago and they tried to fix it but it is still a horrible mess. I had to get it on PS4. When it comes to this game, I hate to say it, but your best bet is a console. Sorry man.
  16. I've been writing something during covid and a few of my friends (and a copy editor) say it's really good, so I was wondering the easiest program or service to write it on because I hate sending MS Word attachments to people since it's so cumbersome. I was thinking of making a google doc and giving them all access to it, but that means I would have to log into google every time I just wanted to write something, and that's not quick enough. Is there an easier way to access google docs than navigating to docs.google.com and pulling the whole thing up? Someone said to make the google doc a shortcut on my desktop but I don't exactly know how to do that.
  17. Oh. No. It's a cheap offbrand one but I've had it for years and it works fine as I don't OC and I have nice ventilation. But I need a quieter fan as this one whirs like a UFO or something. I have a brown PWM Noctua case fan but I need noise dampening on it.
  18. I don't know of any other set of pads though. The heatsink came with a set of small pads but they can't be taken off without ripping them.
  19. Is it heat resistant? I honestly don't know how heat resistant I need it. I don't overclock and my temps are usually within normal range. I'm not a power user.
  20. I need a piece of tape or some small cushion to put between my new Noctua 120mm fan and my CPU heatsink tower to muffle the noise and help it fit more snug Does anyone know what to use?
  21. ok thank you. You've been a great help.
  22. Yeah I just saw the purple 2 TB is only about 16$ more so I'm going to get that so I have more room to upgrade the speed and video quality. Is the IP67 weather rating something I should take into account? I live in the midwest USA and we have a lot of bad weather. It's going to be under a roofed front porch but the humidity might be a problem.
  23. IP cameras are the only ones that work for an NAS right? I figured those were the only ones to buy for this. Are all outdoor cameras the same IP67 weather rating?
