  1. I think Red Dead 2 is better to be honest. But lots of people disagree with me and like Witcher 3 more.
  2. They probably can't do it though because doing these promotions probably cost less in the long run than a price cut. But I don't know actually. I'm just guessing why they might not be able to do that.
  3. I bought a PS4 because it has some great games, and RDR is just one of them. I got a PS4 Pro because it came with God of War which was amazing.
  4. You don't choose your ending, but it's open world
  5. Yeah ok I'll probably just not bother with it.
  6. Yeah I mean I just want to see if mounting the fan to the outside of the case could be done and be practical. It's just a dumb case modding thing I want to try. It's not important.
  7. Oh yeah I could do that too. lol I didn't think to do that.
  8. Well, it's not crucial that I do this but I just want to give it a try to see if it will work. I know I could bump up the intakes which I might do as well. It's sort of like a challenge to see if I can make it work. I already have a small hole drilled out of the grill here to wire it through.
  9. I'm using an old Rosewill case, I have the link here, and the back behind the motherboard has a place for a fan, but I can't fit my fan in it without bending the motherboard. I'm looking for as much positive air pressure as possible. I'm not looking for this to contribute to any temps. I have 4 120mm intakes and 2 140mm exhaust on top. https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811147107?Item=N82E16811147107 Here's a picture of the hole.
  10. No I know, I mean the little 4 holes on the case for where you put the screws. I'm having trouble verbalizing what I'm talking about. You know the holes in your case where you put fans, there's 4 holes on the corners.
  11. I have a 120mm hole in my motherboard for a fan, but I don't have room inside the case to mount the fan, so I'm wondering if there's some sort of covered enclosed 120mm fan I can install on the outside. If they don't make those, then I was thinking of installing the fan outside of the case and then putting on a dust filter on the outside to enclose it. But I don't think the screws are long enough to go through the case, the entire thickness of the fan, and through the dust filter. Any tips or tricks to help me do this? Thanks. (EDIT) Maybe I can superglue the filter to the fan.
  12. I only have my Xbox 360 for Mass Effect. I refuse to play that on PC because EA took out some functionality. And I don't do well with 3rd person games with mouse and keyboard. But other than that, it's collecting dust.
  13. We'll have our holograms and stuff
  14. https://kotaku.com/red-dead-redemption-2-is-coming-to-pcs-1838773986 RDR 2 is coming to PC on November 5th. According to Kotaku, the modding community will probably be on this so we can expect funny hats and skins. There's no word yet on PC requirements. It's also coming to Google Stadia
  15. Can you return it and just say something like "The fan stopped!" and then buy it again?
  16. Thanks for your reply. so do you think the cheaper motherboard would be the way to go if I'm getting a 3600 or 3700X?
  17. I'm either getting a 3600X or 3800X depending on what my money is going to look like in a few week. I've been building for 10 years but I never got into overclocking because I could never afford to brick anything. So this is my first go at real overclocking. I'm not too up to date on how VRMs work but I know better VRMs = more headroom to overclock. I really wish I understood how power delivery works. And I'm wondering if it's even worth it to overclock a 3800X. I do want to overclock my RAM from 3000 to 3200 just as a challenge to myself to see if I can do it.
  18. I was wondering if someone could tell me the difference between these 2 motherboards and why there's such a price difference. Thanks https://www.newegg.com/msi-performance-gaming-x470-gaming-pro-carbon/p/N82E16813144178 https://www.newegg.com/msi-performance-gaming-x470-gaming-plus/p/N82E16813144177
  19. That's what I'm thinking. I'm not going to upgrade to a Ryzen until November anyway so by then we'll have some reviews of The Other Worlds and if it's good then I can justify spending the extra on beefier hardware. The 3800X is $380 right now.
  20. https://www.pcworld.com/article/3441866/amd-bundles-ryzen-radeon-with-borderlands-3-the-outer-worlds-and-ghost-recon-breakpoint.html "AMD is offering free games to sweeten its already-kick-ass GPU and CPU offerings. Called the “Radeon Raise the Game” and “Ryzen Equipped to Win” bundles, they offer a mixture of Borderlands 3, The Outer Worlds, and Ghost Recon Breakpoint." I was thinking of getting the 3600 but now I think I'm going to get the 3600X because I can get Borderlands 3 with it. The 3600X is $239 on Newegg and I believe the same price at my Microcenter which means I'm only paying $30 more to get a $60 game and I'm getting a hardware bump with it.
  21. I was looking at the TDP of the APUs and they were 35W which made me think that they were for systems in which power usage or temperatures were a concern.
  22. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-ryzen-3000-pro-apu-radeon-vega-graphics-available-9-7-5-athlon,40508.html "AMD also announced Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G and 3400GE, along with Ryzen 3 3200G and 3200GE models that are all still fabbed on the 12nm process with the Zen+ architecture. A lone Athlon processor rounds out the product stack." These seem to be low powered counterparts to the non PRO versions, as many of these are lower TDP with slower clock speeds. So I'm guessing these are for smaller systems? I'm sure one of you smarter guys than me can tell us why they seem to want cooler and less power hungry chips. My guess is for systems that aren't CPU heavy. (EDIT: The lower TDP chips are in the article. I'm not sure what these 65W chips are for) UPDATE: https://www.forbes.com/sites/marcochiappetta/2019/09/30/amd-going-after-businesses-and-professionals-with-launch-of-new-ryzen-pro-3000-processors/#5e1ff5a33051 "Today, AMD is taking the same philosophies and targeting businesses and the enterprise with the launch of its new AMD Ryzen PRO 3000 Series processors. At its core, the Ryzen PRO 3000 series is virtually identical to the standard Ryzen 3000 series (they are based on the same silicon), but with these new chips, AMD is enabling and array of security and manageability features and tweaking frequencies to bring power down into a 65W max power envelope" So it does seem to be a bit about TDP and power along with security features.
  23. Ok so I have an issue that's kinda convoluted. I'm building a new PC in November. I have a Synology and I use Cloudstation on it between 5 computers in the house. All our important writing and documents are on it. Cloudstation is basically a folder that syncs between all the computers that have the same folder. I could never figure out a way to have it back up to an offsite by itself, which it has the ability to do, so I downloaded Google Drive on my big computer (the one I'm replacing) and I forget how I set it up, but anything that's added to my Cloud drive folder is automatically uploaded to google. Everything in Cloud drive is kinda mission critical stuff and I forget how I had Google Drive monitor the folder. So I have a few questions: 1) Is there a way to have Google Drive monitor certain folders? I really forget how I set this up and it's been 2 years since I did it. 2) Is anybody here knowledgable in Synology who can maybe DM me about setting up a cloud backup to my Amazon Drive since I get 100 GB on there? I might have to ask this on the Synology forums though but I thought I'd ask here. 3) What is your preferred method for automatically backing up important things that are less than 20 GB in size? All this is is documents, writing, and some important photos.
