  1. It will bottleneck the GTX 970. Personal experience with a friends computer. We couldn't get Borderlands 2 to run smoothly beyond Low/Med at 1080p. Look into a new system. Build planning sub board can help.
  2. HyperX clouds going to be the best "gaming" brand headset. Sennheiser's PC 350 SE would be the better option for a Headset. Logitech's G502 is probably the best mouse I've tried. Deathadder is a decent first gaming mouse though.
  3. Deathstalker Expert Kb and a Taipan Mouse. Steelseries QcK. Thier Hard mats look good. (not paying $50 though) Deathstalker is a nice side step upgrade from a membrane if you get it cheap. Taipan is a good mouse for fingertip/claw grip. G502 is slightly better though, grip/comfort wise for me. Been runing both for 4-5 months. My old 3.5G Deathadder lasted 2 years before the thumb button broke. Still works minus that. Razer's OK in my book.
  4. Player count is worldwide not region. You get more accurate count from the most play on steam stats page. COD:AW had like 30K average day one. Not high enough for my liking. Needed to be in or very near the Top five on steam for a PC buy from me. An MP game on PC lives or dies on whether its a good game or if the player base will stick around after a month. It also didn't help that COD:AW doesn't have dedicated servers ATM. Thats a big Red flag for me on PC.
  5. For a port it looks appealing but PC CoD always fizzles out really fast after launch. player base isn't high enough for me to play it on my pc. most played CoD on steam right now sits at about 2-10K every day which is terrible. gameplay wise it looks like it could be fun which is saying a lot for a game that repeats itself year after year.
  6. Personally say stay with a single seat until the bigger ships are actually usable. I had a Taurus but It drove me crazy not to fly it. I Have mostly Fighters since that's what AC is all about ATM. Love my M50 and the Gladius looks like it can punch hard. Pretty sure the Stats page is old and as always not correct.
  7. The Redeemer in the start was a cool glimpse of PMC group play. 11 total (5 Crew/6 Marines) per ship make me wonder how many players per PU instance are they aiming for. or if AI will count as Player slots. Capture the Idris Game mode will be awesome later on.
  8. Can't speak for maxnomic but once you sit on a DXRacer D-Series or M-series chair their is no going back to the "Value" chair. Love my M-Series. OH/MY07/N Customer Service was good to me. got an upgrade at no charge when they messed up my order. even threw in a DXRacer branded mouse pad. which is surprisingly good. People complain about the price but it is a luxury good and priced as such. Also ergonomics is no joke, I paid the price before with cheap chairs. never again. Should See if DXRacer would Sponsor LTT with chairs. give them intro screen and a lower 3rd on the WAN show for a few weeks.
  9. DXRacer D-Series or M-Series chair. I own an OH/MY07/N since the end of july and its been the best thing I've bought for my PC setup. I can sit for 8+hours and not get fatigued. Keep in mind that any of the gaming racing chairs are luxury goods and are price as such. Mileage may very greatly when going to Officemax/depot or costco for a chair. most are not made for long sitting. meaning 8+ hours. Better buy one really good chair then buy cheap ones ever year or two for $100-$150 everyone wants to spend.
  10. Have your tried any of them? I always recommend a MX Sampler before buying a board. Like this: http://www.amazon.com/Max-Keyboard-Keycap-Cherry-Sampler/dp/B00E71W4O8/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1413408438&sr=1-1 or http://www.maxkeyboard.com/max-keyboard-keycap-cherry-mx-switch-o-ring-pro-sampler-tester-kit.html Browns are more neutral in feel...the bump isn't as pronounced as blues but it is noticeable when pressing lightly and/or fast. I prefer MX Clears (stiffer browns with a bump like blues) but I own and use MX browns. the click isn't needed IMO (just the bump) if your using a headphones all the time.
  11. I had nothing else to do. I made it my main as well. from Win 7 Ultimate. B) Whats a proper test if not a real world one. (worse case scenario I re-install win 7 and wait for 10.) I haven't noticed anything wrong outside of having to re-install my GFX driver So far I like the UI and the multi-moniter support. Got rid of all the tiles and Apps ASAP after install.
  12. I like MX Clears and browns the most. can't stand reds mushy press. at least blacks you know your pressing the key. as far as Reds vs brown linear vs tactile try typing on the switches for a prolonged time. you'll know after 10 mins if you want to game on it.
  13. you could always save more. better to buy the best for the money the first time around. less upgrading. just my take on it. I don't think it will be that big of an issue for gaming. if it is he could always get something better. http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+FX-4130+Quad-Core Seeing how sandy bridge can still be game'd on i'd say this could be too.
  14. speculative: Mid-October that is what some tech sites are reporting. i'd say that's about right. why no GTX 970 though? best bang for the buck imo.
  15. SSD for windows boot drive and key applications used often. I may put a game or 2 that i'm currently playing often on the SSD. for better loading speeds. HDD for bulk storage like games, music, movies, or apps less often used. It won't make a huge deal for games but everything in windows will become more responsive to inputs and load times for applications will improve vastly. especially if you consider your current windows experience slow. My Combo: Samsung 840 PRO 256 GB WD Black 1 TB 7200 RPM SATA III 6.0 GB/s
  16. From what I've read the AX860 is better. supposed to be a seasonic rebrand and cheaper if you don't have to have the corsair link software.
  17. I don't see the need to buy into the larger ships. i'd rather have a few ships in my hanger for the same price. Already bought an M50 CCU from a 325A as my main ship and a temporary Avenger that i'll turn into a hornet at some point. going to use that to melt "trade" around a bit so I can tryout any new ships like the mustang, gladius, avenger varients, etc. I plan on having 3 ships in the end. racer, dogfighter, utility/multi-role. then i'll be set. I'll just buy hanger stuffs after to still support the game. probably become a subscriber then.
  18. Kingston HyperX Cloud is good for the price. Sennheiser PC 350 SE is what I use. got it for $127 6 months ago. still like new and sounds great IMO. Audio Technica's headset is good too but very pricey for what it is. Headphone/MIC combo is the standard recommendation.
  19. if it cost the same or an extra amount that insignificant like a few dollars then go for the fastest your mobo supports. last time i looked 1600/1866/2133 all cost about the same for comparable modules from same brand/make/GB size Zxx boards and K CPUs support Intel XMP for automagicly OC'd Ram. reason why board supports higher speeds and ram is sold at higher speeds are guaranteed to run at advertised speed. RAM isn't hard to buy. Pick a Brand Pick a Color Pick a GB size (8/16/32/64) - based on need Pick a Speed (RAM speed won't do anything for gaming. certain apps it will, like video editing.) Done.
  20. i'd wait to see GTX 900. their going to be released soon. from what i hear the 970 will cost the same as a current 770 this seems promising... http://videocardz.com/52524/first-nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-and-gtx-970-review-leaks-out
  21. I've been playing with a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and I prefer it to a mouse/kb. it good for the money to see if its some thing you'd enjoy. I will say the throttle is usable but not great or ideal. I'll be getting a X55 Rhino since thats the most I'm willing to spend on a HOTAS. having your stick and throttle separate is much better then what I have. i tried voice attack but it didn't really help that much. hornets still blew me up all the same.
  22. racing mustang (when finished) after the sale is off will fill the void for dedicated racing ship that is permanently available. but it wouldn't be as cool as an M50 IMO also quote for proof. https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/176479/m50-and-350r-sale-now-limited-22nd-sept/p1
  23. I did. worth it if you thought the 300i trainer wasn't nimble/fast enough for racing. or the fact that many in the community went bananas when CIG were going to make the M50 and the 350R permanent pledge packages. now its not the case they are on sale till the 22nd and are limited again. PU attainable but not many too often. racing is pretty cool and fun. with the new afterburner model I get a sense of speed now. M50 flies really nice IMO. much tighter controls with very little drift unless you want it (M50). its not a fighter at all, but I'm probably going to re-buy my 325A or a hornet for that purpose.
