  1. Started up my PC today and nothing has changed since yesterday except my UM@ no longer works, shows up in device manager, and windows sound devices, when i tap my mic the level indicator lights up but windows does not detect any sound. uninstalled and reinstalled default drivers, and unofficial drivers, nothing works.
  2. One of the better ways to tell if your audio on board is fried is if you can't find it in your device manager, make sure you check there, uninstall the driver from there, and also make sure it doesn't show up in the control panel's "remove a program" before reinstalling a driver
  3. I ran the usb 3 like that because it was not long enough to come through the bottom, my camera is picking up more blue than there actually is and yeah i've tried other colors, but the same thing will have, my camera will screw them up.
  4. I have recently upgraded my PC and by upgrade I only saved the GPU. The highlights are a 3600x and a 2070 super, deep details can be found on my profile, slightly less details on the PCPartpicker. PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor $199.99 @ Amazon CPU Cooler Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM SE 63 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler $169.99 @ Amazon Motherboard Asus PRIME X570-PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard $241.99 @ B&H Memory Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory $107.99 @ Amazon Storage Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $179.99 @ Amazon Video Card Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB GAMING OC Video Card $500.00 Case Corsair iCUE 465X RGB ATX Mid Tower Case $149.99 @ Amazon Power Supply Corsair RMx White (2018) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Custom Corsair iCUE Commander Pro $74.99 Custom CableMod C-Series Pro Black/White $99.90 Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $1724.83 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-04-14 04:51 EDT-0400 Before you comment on price, I did not pay the advertised price, I already had the GPU and had a few price matches (got my parts at Microcenter) Yes I could have squeezed out more performance for what I paid and if i sold my GPU to get a 2080, but I am okay with a 2070 super and aesthetics are important to me so i wanted matching parts, which is one reason my mobo is so procey, it is the only majority white motherboard for am4 with an IO cover. If i could do anything different it would be a bigger case and the white version of my current GPU, everything is kinda cramped and eventually I want to do custom hardline loop, not possible in this case. Constructive criticism is welcome but only if you're actually telling me how amazing I did, all other comments with be met with me crying.
  5. I'm no expert on ram latency so i can only comment on what i know, i have never looked at compatibility list when buying ram, just got what i wanted, that being said if you're buying from amazon(yes i see the newegg they accept returns too, just not as easily) and they end up not working they almost always accept returns within the month no questions asked. When it comes to power supplies i believe both Corsair and EVGA are highly respected and as long as you're getting a Gold 80+ rated PSU you're probably going to be okay.
  6. Yes that would work but if you always want to be 100% and really care just plug your wrist strap into the ground port on an extension cord that is plugged in. That also means you dont have to drag out your old pc.
  7. free desk so i dont complain, heres a top down pic, excuse the dust.
  8. I really need to upgrade my cpu, but i want Ryzen so i need new motherboard, which i would want to get an ATX so i need a new case and i am set on the Corsair Crystal series which would total to 700+ dollars.
  9. You can get a list of everything on my profile, i built this PC in 2015 and just recent got into audio and also got a new GPU. The only thing not listed on my profile is the NZXT HUE+. (one photo with monitor off for better lighting)
  10. as for "high end cables" i'm sure you've heard it before, a conductor is a conductor, there are definitely low end cables that can suck but if you are not running a 1500 watt amp to your 15" subs you do not need to worry about what cable you are using, as long as the connection is made. Not to mention if you buy high end items like Sennheisers they come with cables adequate for themselves. (there does come a point where there are things out of your control that will affect sound and circuits, vibrations from trains or wind turbines, radiation from the sun or cell towers, how your house was built etc)
  11. yes, yes. i will attempt to reinstall all windows updates then.
  12. i have windows 10 pro 64bit, and on nvidias webpage there is not way to select if you download standard or dch drivers
  13. Last night the power went out and my pc lost power obviously, upon boot i had consistent blue screens, decided i would just fresh install windows. After doing so and installing geforce experience (i have 2070 super) i get only one message on the main screen of the app that says "unable to download recommended driver" cant open anything else in the app and installing the driver manually from nvidias site does not work either. ive tried reseating it, turning off my pc and uninstalling geforce exp adn retrying etc, nothing works. DxDiag.txt attached here is my dxdiag file as of posting this. Any help is appreciated thanks.
  14. yep yep, good information, now ive heard rather than port forwarding for security reasons i can use an srv record instead?
  15. if i have [x] service running on x.x.x.x:xxxx and want node.hostname.com to allow me to connect to it rather than remembering the ip, like remote desktop, what do i do in that scenario
  16. If im using other services that run out of ports and are managed by me rather than a webserver how would i go about managing their direction
  17. i have done this already but in the DNS Records of my my domain what do i need to set
  18. I want to learn how to use DNS Records to point to thinks on my server, say i have a website running using IIS and just want some basic information on it and my server is running on internal ip 10.x.x.x and how to set a record to be info.hostname.com. or i have a service with internal ip x.x.x.x on port xxxx what do i need to do to have service.hostname.com to allow me to connect to it Windows server 2016, using dynu.com
  19. Im going to be getting an older lenovo think station used as a server from a friend thats giving it to me in turn for setting up a plex server for him on it. Along with a plex server i want to set up an xmpp server, a mail server(going to mention a domain) and host a few occasional game servers as well as a plain storage server i can access from school on my laptop or remote into a virtual machine when i need more power than my lenovo t410. I was also thinking about buying a domain since i can get ones i like for around $6 a year, however since im doing this from home and have a dynamic public ip i recognize i need to use a DDNS, i was planing on using dyn.com but have never done anything with servers or domains apart from my MTA in server administration in high school. If i buy a domain from somewhere like domain.com how do i go about setting up the DDNS for it using dyndns? And if anyone can get me some useful information on SRV Records and how to set them up that would be great too. Server is a lenovo thinkstation, dont know the exact specs at the moment but i will be running Windows Server 2016.
