    Also a Free- or Gsync monitor isn't that noticeable in performance if you play shooters. I have a ryzen 1500x with a gtx 1060 and I can easily run a 144hz monitor, I'd also prefer the 144hz monitor. The other one would be a waste of precious money.

    thank you guys for the input, I guess I have played games previously on my 1080p 60hz laptop and havent really had too much of an issue with tearing and i feel like 60hz to 75hz isnt going to be that much of a difference, the fs range is also pretty small being 38-75, I was already leaning towards the 144hz monitor but this thread pretty much sealed the deal, thanks!!

    IMO 144hz, I've tried freesync and while it's a nice-to-have it still wasn't (at least to me) a noticeably better experience where as a 144hz display will be a significant improvement over a 75hz one.

    144hz, losing 50% of the refresh rate is not even close to worth it
