Greetings! A newbie personal pc builder here with a question,
I recently got myself a new PC build 3 days ago and managed to get a Modular Corsair HX1000 V2 Power supply with the build.
Fast forward to starting up for the first time. I hear nothing but two clicking noises. (After some digging i did find out it's supposed to be the relay switches inside, which is all good) but you're only supposed to hear it once? My pc won't even start up, no fans rotating or what so ever. It just clicks and then clicks again. (I made sure my PC is fine by using an old PSU of Thermaltake and it functions just fine)
I tried twice by taking out all the cables and just making sure they were all put in correctly. *One possibility* is that i may not have used a certain correct way with plugging in the cables in the PSU, as there are 3 differend rows of entry points? I tried finding any kind of guidance from the install book of this PSU but could not find anything about this.
But fast forward, i used the paperclip trick with testing if the CPU works, (I don't have a loose fan so i couldn't test it with that) and it still clicks....and clicks a second time.
Does anyone know a fix for this?
A small second question i have is, having connected this PSU to my build, plugging in the power cable in the wall. I switch the power button on the PSU on and my motherboard lights up a split mili second. Is this normal behaviour for certain power supplies or is this an indication this PSU is faulty? i don't have this with my old PSU.
I'm hoping someone here knows more about this problem. This is a last resort before i call the store where i got it from and request a refund / new PSU.
