  1. Bumping, please someone must have a fix for this. I updated windows AGAIN at the weekend and all drivers are up to date. It has to be an nvidia or win10 issue since it happened on two different systems
  2. My monitor has started colour banding only with darks/blacks and since my main game is Elite Dangerous, this is VERY annoying when 90% of the game is just the blackness of space. It's EXTREMELY frustrating and I can't take it any more, so I'm hoping someone on here can help me fix this for good! This happened a few months ago on my laptop but then seemed to fix itself (?) so idk what to do now. It is VERY noticeable on my main monitor, and it's there but barely noticeable on my 2nd monitor. Full system specs: Main Monitor - AOC CQ27G2U G-Line 144hz Curved 27" (via DP cable) 2nd Monitor - Dell U2417H 24" 60hz (via HDMI cable) OS - Windows 10 Home 64-bit Build Version 19041 Motherboard - MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon Ram - Corsair Vengeance 16gb dual channel CPU - Intel i5-8600K @ 3.60ghz (currently overclocked to 4.5ghz) GPU - Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3070Ti Master 8gb PSU - Corsair RM1000x THINGS I HAVE ALREADY TRIED THAT DID NOT FIX IT: - Changing from 8bpc in the windows settings (it wont let me change to anything else) - Changing from 8bpc in the nvidia control panel (it wont give any other option than 8bpc) - Updating drivers - Rolling back nvidia drivers - Changing the display resolution - Changing the display refresh rate - Calibrating the colour in windows calibration tool (lowering the gamma doesn't fix the issue it just makes everything look awful because it's way too dark, and I can still see the banding) - Changing gamma/colour settings directly on the monitor itself - Different DP/HDMI cables - Changing to different colour options in the nvidia control panel (RGB/YCbCr422/YCbCr444 in both full and partial dynamic range, as well as highest colour depth of 32-bit) - Using default settings on everything in the nvidia control panel Reference Pictures: Elite Dangerous showing the colours being patchy and pixellated NVIDIA Control Panel Settings: Windows display settings:
  3. I came back home and booted the laptop up and now the colours seem to be fine? Going to do some photography editing for a few hours so I don't know if it's fixed or temporary, marking this as the solution to close the thread out
  4. I dont see anywhere in the bios that shows that information
  5. In the last two weeks my monitor has been showing in what appears to be 8bit colour depth. I've seen on these forums that windows says 8bit depth when it really means 8bpc so I assume this is normal, however about a month ago I re-pasted my gpu and cpu to reduce temps so i'm worried one of the power rails has gone? Windows was also restored to factory settings (win10 home edition x64) and all drivers are up to date as of today (03-July-21). I have tried to update display drivers with windows update and from the MSI website but neither of these fixed the issue which leads me to think it's a hardware issue. The laptop is an MSI GS73 Stealth 8RF (I will put full specs with bios version etc when I get back sorry) Images so you can see what I mean
  6. The Mortar Titanium ones are more silver than white. I have seen the NZXT boards but they're a black motherboard with a big white frame over them. The appeal of the MSI board is it's the only (from what I can find) board that is a TRULY white board. Plus, the board isn't for me it's a gift for a friend who really wants the MSI one. Thank you for the suggestions though! I appreciate the help :)
  7. I've seen the second hand boards on there, Ideally i'm trying to get a boxed one with the original packaging
  8. Greetings all, Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, I cannot post in the classifieds so didn't know where else to turn. I am DESPERATELY trying to source a BNIB (or at best, very good condition used in original packaging) MSI B360 Gaming Arctic motherboard for Intel (see attached pic for reference). I know they are discontinued by MSI, and I have tried everywhere I can think of to get a hold of one in the original boxing but to no avail. I have even emailed MSI directly to try and buy one if they had any residual stock left over, and you wonderful people of the LTT forums are my last hope. I'm more than happy to pay full shipping and import costs to the UK plus the price of the board to get one sent over. A dear friend of mine is building their dream rig (full white build) and no other manufacturer makes truly white motherboards anymore (not counting that NZXT board with the huge plastic frame covering an all black mobo). PLEASE if anyone on here has one, or even if by some strange chance there is one at LTT unused I am very much willing to buy it to help my friend achieve their dreams of the perfect build. Thank you for reading
