Try installing the game on your SSD and/or switching to High Performance Mode in Windows, and also check CPU/GPU temps and clocks while gaming.

I used to experience fairly similar stutters on some games when they were installed on my HDD (WD Green which is slower than most drives anyway). While your assumption that it should only affect loading times isn't necessarily wrong, many games (especially those with large maps) often won't load the entire map at once, so because it has to load in new assets as you progress through the map, you might experience these sorts of stutters/hiccups.

leon12321 got a reaction from Ben17 in Upgrading after many years - is this ok ?
Nope you haven't misheard. I've properly checked the motherboard and people say it doesn't support ryzen 5 3000 series CPUs. That's strange since in the UK, I can find a B450 motherboard for less than 80 quid which supports RYZEN 5 3000, for example: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-PRIME-B450-PLUS-Socket-Motherboard/dp/B07F6ZXNXK/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=b450+asus&qid=1577815796&sr=8-3

    Sorry for the misinformation.

If you're not going to OC, you can downgrade the motherboard to this https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-ATX-Motherboard-B450-PRO4/dp/B07FVYKJHR/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=motherboard+am4+ATX+b450&qid=1577808763&sr=8-4 to save 10 dollars.

Other than that, it seems alright.

Take your time, Check before you screw stuff or plug parts in. Aside from the chassis front IO, you can't really plug wrong cable into wrong holes.
you want a Philips magnetic screwdriver with a J1 head, a grounding bracelet, a flash light or head lamp (or great lightning), maybe some long nose pliers or if you got fat fingers like mine and have a hard time plugging in leads.

-Prep your case, open it up, check your the corners and edges to know where it's smooth and where you can cut yourself
-RTFM on mobo, you need to know how to slot your CPU and where your case cable plug in.
-When you open your CPU box, be careful not to smudge the thermal compound on the bottom of the cooler
-Fit your motherboard with CPU and ram on top of your MOBO box.
-Install cooler (make sure you have the correct orientation so the leads can plug in on your MOBO cpu fan pins. Carefull to make sure there is no plastic between CPU and Cooler.
-Optional: If you feel comfortable, test the build by pluggin the the two PSU cables in the MOBO and shorting the power pins.
-Screw in all your stand offs on your case's MOBO tray. There is a bit provided for that and it fits  (check the holes in your board because your tray probably has more holes than your need)
-Put your IO shield before your MOBO
-Put in the MOBO, make sure the shields doesn't interfere with the IO and screw it in
-Plug in all the case leads from the chassis into the MOBO. In the case of an ASUS build, you have a special adapter to plug in all you case leads easily. Use it!
-Install the power supply, run the cables to your mobo. There should be two cables plugging in.
-Screw in your drives. There might be some rubber washers to lower your HDD drive vibrations. Use them on the mechanical drive.
-Plug the with the SATA cables into the disks and in your MOBO.
-Route a power cable to your drives (or two if you need)
-Remove the correct number of expansion slot to fit your vid card (in the highest MOBO slot)
-Install your vid card and route the power cables
-Test the build. It should post otherwise, troubleshoot using your MOBO manual.
-Install spare fans if you got them
    -Time for cable management!
-Close the case, be careful you don't damage wires
-Install Windows (or Linux or whatever floats your boat)

Note: Smaller cases are harder to build into.
Don't overclock with the stock cooler
Still lost? Watch vids, Linus has some good ones.
Once it's built and tested, you may want to enable XMP profile to gain some processing muscle without overclocking.

Basically all I got.  It's not hard at all, and no you don't need to wear a static strap.

Most people posting that 8GB is not enough don't understand that Windows uses more RAM the more RAM you give it, so will look like 8GB is not enough if you are using a 16GB kit. People used to and still do this with Vram also, where it is just cached, not used.

    2011: Modern Warfare 3
    2012: Black Ops 2
    2013: GTA V (can't believe it's been 6 years)
    2014: Alien Isolation
2015: Witcher 3 Wild Hunt (of fucking course :D)
    2016: Dark Souls 3
2017: RE7: Biohazard (didn't really play many games in 2017)
2018: God of War (the last great game I played on PS4)
2019: Very tricky, I love Sekiro, RE2 remake and Fallen Order but I would say Fallen Order since we haven't gotten a great Star Wars game in ages. Last one I truly enjoyed was the old Battlefront 2.
2020: Can't wait for Cyberpunk, Halo Infinite and Dying Light 2. Would love to play the 2nd Last of Us but I don't have a PS4 anymore?‍♂️

Dude, I doubt your room is too small to fit a PC. Don't get ATX PCs, get micro/mini ATX pcs. They're significantly smaller than standard size PCs and will definitely, with mini ITXs being even smaller than micro ATX PCs. I'm 100% sure, that micro/mini ITX form factor PCs will fit into your room. You have a bed right? Place it there. Underneath your table? Beneath your bed? By the window sill? Inside your sitting room?

Please don't make excuses. You will be making excuses in 2 weeks time when you realize you spent 500 pounds on a used laptop that has malfunctioned.
