  1. No, its not coil whine =( It really just sounds like the sound air or steam makes, a really quiet '' psssssss '' and I always hear it before my PC completely freezes It seems like its coming from the cpu area.
  2. No, its coming from somewhere inside the pc
  3. My pc has been running fine since I built it about 4 months ago, but about 2 days ago it began freezing around 10mins after booting, making it completely unusable. Gpu and cpu temps are normal, no memory errors, ssds are fine, all the fans are working... So I have no idea what's wrong with it. The only thing I noticed is before the pc freezes I hear a really soft hissing noise, kind of like air being let out of a tire - its not loud or screechy at all (which is the sound most people describe when I looked up '' PC making weird hissing noise''). Any help would be greatly appreciated ? 4. Hmmm, so it seems like 2080 is the way to go. >.< In response to the 'avoid paying more for the Strix and Aorus models', I found a few cards that were more in the $940cad ($700usd) range. MSI Ventus - $950cad/ $712usd (it's a dual fan card, but has really good reviews) MSI Duke - $989cad/ $740usd (on sale right now) Zotac AMP - $1009cad/ $756usd And for the heck of it, the Strix and Aorus cards I was looking at were both $1149 cad/ $860usd. Any thoughts/ experiences (good or bad) with any of these cards?
  5. As the title suggests, I just finished building a new PC but can't decide on which GPU to get. For reference, I'll be mostly gaming and doing some light video editing. PC specs: i7 8700k z390 Aorus Elite MB 16GB DDR4 3200 mem. 950w PSU I currently have a 4k monitor but am thinking of switching to a 1440/144hz one in the near future. Price wise, I don't mind paying more for the 2080 if performance/thermals/all that jazz is significantly more than the 2070. But I'd prefer to save money if possible~ xD (the 2080 is currently about $400 more than the 2070 atm T.T) Also debating between the Asus Strix and the Gigabyte Aorus versions of these cards, so if someone could share some wisdom in that regard, it would be greatly appreciated =) Thanks in advance! ^^
