  1. its normal. The load changes so does your clock speed. my 5800X3D does the same
  2. you sohuld update the bios every time you upgrade cpu, even if you have the latest one. also you shoudl isntall chipset drivers. It is obviously a bug on the software side
  3. sounds like broken cpu to me. My 5800X3D has 2 broken pins, but works fine. I guess you had 2 important pins breaking off. One thing is that you should see if the cpu is evenly in the slot, for me it was not, which was why it was not booting. use a flashlight and see if all the sides are in the smae height.
  4. it will work, but the cpu will be a huge bottleneck. you could find a used i5 3450 for like 20 bucks and slam it in there with the rx 580, then it will work better
  5. also 120ms is not high, its not liek the games will use all the bandwith like the bufferbloat tests doo
  6. boot looping is usually ram/bios issue. Bios update has helped me before related to this issue.
  7. cpu cooler is definetly needed even in bios, without it you could be running it at 100c in about 43 seconds (tested with my older 3700x)
  8. Seems like there is something very wrong in the system. Since you have tried all the drivers etc, next try other gpu. If you do not have one, you could buy used gpus like gtx 970 or 1060 for like under 50 bucks. or if you want even cheaper you could go like gtx 570 wich is at most like 30 bucks, but usually around 25bucks. See if the system work normally with the other gpu, if it does, you sould RMA the gpu.
  9. no. that onyl means that parituclar kir has not been tested yet or never will be. You can try to enable DOCP and manually adjust the DRAM voltage a bit higher. if that does not work try to enabe DOCP and losen the timings.
  10. https://citycenter.jo/computer-hardware/computer-hardware-components/components-power-supply/seasonic-focus-gx-series-750w-80-gold-full-modular ¨cheapest one that SHOULD work. Seasonic had problems with Nvidia 3000 seires before. do not know if it is fixed or not. from different site: https://os-jo.com/components/power-supplies/cooler-master-v750-v2-full-modular-80-gold-certified-850w-power-supply?sort=pd.name&order=ASC
  11. You have to note that the psu might not like the new fan. Treat psu's fan profile like a car ECU. if you change the turbo for a bigger one, you either have to replace the ECU or tune/remap it. For almost any psu remapping/tuning is not an option. Neither is replacing parts that control the fan profile, which means that in the worst case scenario, your psu blows up, since the psu thinks it has the old fan, which is specifically made for that psu.
  12. check all the fans manually. like stop them with your finger. *Also if you have another psu somewhere you could try that.
  13. it is more than 10% better. it has double the threads of a 2500k, and well more cahce and better single core performance. They usually go for like 20-40$, which is a good deal in this case.
  14. pretty decent place. You get help if yo uask basically.
  15. for any unit that can run through pcie slot alone could use that psu. In my opinion for my personal machine I would upgrade to something cheap but better.
  16. probably a short somewhere. check that the cable and the plug are fully clean. Alse the is a small motherboard where the front panel connectors are, could be a short there too. if nothing helps, you can try a sata powered usb 2 connector thingy to rule out the issue.
  17. if they are amazon reviews or similar ignore them. If the psu works people will give positive review, even if its a shit unit because to them, its good if it even works.
  18. Thor II is still PRIME, but its the "fixed" one. its still pretty loud, with poor heatsinks, but atleast it does not have any tripping issues, if that is what you want to know. its good psu, but not the best
  19. Not affordable Inrush current with 230V OTP is set high 5VSB efficiency Vampire power Noisy In-cable caps No multi rail OCP Issues with High transient Gpus like rtx 3080+ or rx 6800+
  20. if tis the EVGA G3 then it also has the issue
  21. The paltform is high end, but it has problems, and Asus made ven more problems to it. I have no idea, why it is at tier A, should be like Tier B at most
  22. I have not head anything than negative, whic his true, Seasonic is Scummy, liar and mediocre company. nothing special in them
  23. this is very normal. Why are you even asking this? just google if 100% gpu usage is normal in games and you will see that it is
  24. it probably has zero fan mode, which is normal for such psu. so nothign odd is going around here
  25. 5800X3D is one of the bets cpus. If even that bottlenecks your 4080 then there is not solution for it, for now atleast.
