Why not just get a card with a cooler instead?

However, with True-Fi, it boosts the mids/highs slightly, in turn isn't dark. Planar's seem to handle EQ very well.

Bookshelf speakers vs Computer speakers + Recommendations
Reckless95 replied to cpugeek21's topic in Audio
What's your budget, also do they need to be powered or can you get passive speakers? -
Why not go ultra wide? Also what's your price range

If you want to buy an AIO I bet it's not going to be as good as stand alone units. Do you really need something to mix the sound and voice together , also a mic input? What headphones do you have? Sensitivity w/ the impedance of a headphone will tell you how much power is required to hit X SPL I'm willing to bet that this mixamp is garbage, however this is my opinion. https://www.astrogaming.ca/mixamps/MIXAMP-TR.html?dwvar_MIXAMP-TR_color=Black#start=1

Anything that doesn't assosiate with a company that makes gaming products. Possibly one that makes headphones.

If you want something that's real, Audeze LCD's. I went from Astro A40's to AKG K712s to my LCD-X's. The only way to get bass IMO is Planar>Dynamic.

What's the best consumer level sound card money can buy?
Reckless95 replied to Jumballi's topic in Audio
+1 They both send a digital signal. -
I’ve had ASTRO in the past, but I’ve moved out of the ‘gaming gimmicks’ and just buy a nice headphone with a mod mic etc.
-
I love my Lyr 3 with my Audeze LCD-X’s.
-
Yeah, no. OP- Try looking at True-Fi depending on your headphones you have. They have a free trial aswell. The only downside is you can't change the preset other than how much bass is boosted.

Personally I would look at powered bookshelves or passive from companies like JBL, SVS, Emotiva etc. Since you’re going to have to send power to each one anyways, I would say search for passive with a receiver or Dac/amp as separate.
-
I got SVS ultra bookshelves, not sure what the price difference would be over there. If you’re able to buy directly from SVS you get a 60 day return if you don’t like them.

I still have my ZxR. Recently upgraded to Lyr 3 Schiit. I won't go back to the Sound Blaster. Sounds in games like BFV etc. Are way more realistic and the bass response doesn't get degraded because of the 3D reverb processes. A dedicated DAC/Amp gets you more for your money compared as well. Im interested in Sennheisers GSX 1000 however the amp on it is weak and it doesn't have line out. I have though about double AMPing it. I did use my headphone out from my ZxR to my Schiit as I got begetter headphones. However even with SBX surround, it sounds tinny and doesn't help the sound stage and positioning for my LCD-X's.

Here's my desktop, I've recently purchased Audeze LCD-X's and a Schiit Lyr 3 multibit. The bookshelves are SVS Ultra's, the MBM's are Flex 12's from AVSForum. Powered from a Marantz SR7008. I'll be buying an AMP for the bookshelves eventually :-)
-
The only thing I buy from Razer is mouse & keyboard. I'll stick to SVS, JBL etc. for speakers...
-
Your reason is because you bought cheap shit. " Logitech z623" LOL What do you expect from a Logitech product. It's got what a 6" subwoofer?
-
The subwoofer will only be effective if you either measure multiple locations or do the sub crawl. If you expect to place it in a corner and hope for the best you'll be missing out.
-
I'm getting a 5.2 receiver, what good is a second sub?
Reckless95 replied to Wolf_Lbh's topic in Audio
Speakers, especially subwoofers are placement dependent. Also, I would run pairs of the same subs on different walls if possible. Spread them out in general for a smoother FR (frequency response) I would also go over to AVSForum and ask there because they'll have more knowledge then this forum in general. -
Maybe try out True-Fi from Sonarworks. They've got free trials. It honestly makes my Audeze LCD-X's sound much better IMO. https://www.sonarworks.com/truefi

Sensitivity is also a big factor. If you’re looking for immersion, look for a headphone like Audeze. A real planar. As soon as you add virtual surround, you get less bass response which hurts immersion more than anything IMO.
