I went from triple 24" 1080p surround to a single 32" 1440p and it was great. None of the headaches with lining up bezels (this was back in 2013ish) and the jump in both screen size and resolution made gaming much better.
For that sort of money, I'd look at something like this:

Or if you're willing to push the boat a bit more;
27" options:

32" options:

If you've got the desk space for it, I'd go single 32" personally. I'm actually looking for a new super-wide for my rebuild at the end of the year.

Thanks for the detailed response. I think for myself then the cheaper 'h500' model would work just fine. I think this is what I will end up purchasing.
Thanks also @LukeSavenije

The differences are mostly aesthetic. A notable difference is the top panel can hold up to a 280 or 360mm rad on the H500P/H500M variants, whereas the H500 can only hold a 240 rad. The H500M also comes with USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C as well as ARGB fans. Other than that, it's mostly panel design changes, a bigger PSU shroud, and maybe a TG mounting method change.
