Thank you for the hint Beshington, ok on my 4th days of researches i found out that i have a curious urge to diy & want to build my system from ground up the cheapest way possible & most user friendly possible & stable to learn about networking and wiring the cable hardware with cat5 cables for 4 x PoE IP cams on a small 4channels PoE (or PoE+) switch box, then connected to a miniPC with Windows10 and ''Blue Iris'', which are connected to a router which will be connected to Modem & eventually be all connected to an APC hidden inside the walls with secret door acces will be like a really nice project to do and gain new skills in theses fields, really passionate about it But i find zoneMinder for Linux a lil bit too hardcore & not user friendly for somebody like me who never coded. So i watched many reviews on only the softwares used to remotely view the cams live stream + push notification alert for Android because it is the most important part before the hardware wich i learned too late & wasted a lot of time in the searches, Ex Swann software wich uses Google Assistant is extremely buggy and unstable apparently. Found out the most User friendly and stable is ''Blue Iris'' app for Windows10 for 60$ + 10$ for Android (70$ total to work together). Now i am also on Blue Iris forum asking questions about their software... a really tedious task, not a lot of reviews and comparisons like in other field like gaming in this world of camera surveillance. Because Swann have a innovative thermal detection camera that makes less false alerts than only motion detection, i think they have patented it because i see no one offering theses thermal detection features elsewhere, waiting Blue Iris response on that so i could hopefully use them on Blue Iris and skip their native buggy software wich have a lot of bad reviews unfortunately. Where i am at now... - Selecting a cheap refurbished PC with low power consumption (silent in sound levels optional), with no discrete GPU, multicores CPU i5 or (i7 if lucky), 8Gig Ram minimum and 1 surveillance specialised HDD. I dont know the minimum requirement for CPU & Ram for ''Blue Iris'' to be stable with 4 IP Cams on a Poe Switch box. If it could roll on a mini tumb stick pc would be sick! - Selecting a PoE switch box 4channel plus 1 uplink i guess ? Are theses Security Features in a PoE+ switch important ? 802.1x Radius authentication DHCP snooping IP-MAC binding Port security supports limited dynamic lock and locked MAC address Management access control I dont know yet if Blue Iris is billed monthly, yearly or only free upon purchase of software. - Need to dig more on cloud storage. Ok so the most important part is the software for Android, without stability the whole NVR system crash no matter what the quality. Really trying to find a page with a list of the most stable apps... found none.

HI, i just finished watching Linus video but i wished there was a kind of tests and visual benchmarks and performances on all the options available. Wanted only the front door discrete to see who rings, because i live beside a bar and i am not sure if it will bother the peoples there so that is why. But inside i would love the nice ones and theres 2 doors to get on 2nd floor so discrete at door and obvious in stairway. Nice idea i think i will at the least put a beware sticker on the main door thx Budget it depends on the roommates, we are quite tight but i guess 400-500$CAD in total we can poll. And also my lovely PC rig For Stratocast they use TLS encryption from the camera to the cloud. But no prices revealed for the monthly fees, only a demo upon scheduling a meeting with them. If Linus can make the ULTIMATE camera recording LTT special video episode on all the possible and various options, it would be the only video on the matter that the internet will need benchmark wise and pros and cons in their comparisons! It keeps me out of my personal ruminations watching your funny episodes, thank you I am new to security cams setup, but quite good in autodidact D.I.Y. mentality and comfortable with electronic soldering, and lastly i am a n0ob in coding but also already broken the ice with RasPi3B+ if i am guided clearly. So i was wondering what is the most affordable setup for security cameras for a house ? Ideally i want to use 4 small/hidden HD 1080p cams for all my main access points to the house from the outside view, that can be selected individually to warn me all the roommates on our cellphones with live feed when movements are detected but only on certain one's because the front entrance is a busy street and we don't want to get annoyed with lots of false alerts. Is it possible to create our own cloud storage on a hard drive that can send alerts via wifi data or sms if absent from the house with a link to our diy cloud to see the stream live wherever we are ? I heard about the security cam cloud service and monitoring called '' Stratocast '' by Genetec : ( https://www.genetec.com/solutions/all-products/stratocast/overview ) but i am not sure it is worth the yearly cost for only an appartment if a DIY solution exist. Wire-free security cameras that are powered by batteries (or with solar cells combo or psu) and transmit the data via WiFi ? Vs. All above options or more that are unknown to my knowledge ? For wireless cameras is there any risk of being hacked, i guess they transmit the signal encrypted in AES 256 bits minimum ? I want to hide my Central Surveillance Recording and DATA transmission Hub of hardware piece gears within the wall with a discrette hidden door acces. My profession is home improvement in renovation so if i can add more skills to offer to future clients it would be better for me & i love new challenges & to learn new stuffs!
