Fairly new to the whole PC thing, so I apologize in advance if I say and/or do anything uneducated.
I have myself a whole PC and all of the components and so on all except for a monitor, which is more than likely a crucial component to using a computer (or so I'm told, at least). I was faced with a decision the other day on buying either a monitor or buying an adapter and using my TV as a monitor. This morning, as I go to set everything up, the adapter failed to work. It's just a regular HDMI to VGA adapter. I tried the standard unplugging it and plugging it back in, turning it off and back on again, and I'm left wondering if maybe it's only a one-way kind of adapter, maybe I need a different kind, or some other detail I overlooked. Any help I can get is greatly appreciated.
