  1. Sorry, not sure what the TV is, but it's the one that has HDMI and the computer does not. Computer is just factory Dell Optiplex 7010.
  2. Fairly new to the whole PC thing, so I apologize in advance if I say and/or do anything uneducated. I have myself a whole PC and all of the components and so on all except for a monitor, which is more than likely a crucial component to using a computer (or so I'm told, at least). I was faced with a decision the other day on buying either a monitor or buying an adapter and using my TV as a monitor. This morning, as I go to set everything up, the adapter failed to work. It's just a regular HDMI to VGA adapter. I tried the standard unplugging it and plugging it back in, turning it off and back on again, and I'm left wondering if maybe it's only a one-way kind of adapter, maybe I need a different kind, or some other detail I overlooked. Any help I can get is greatly appreciated.
