  1. Hi, I set up FaH last night without any issues, however I've noticed that only my CPU is being used. I've tried manually adding my GTX 1060 via FaH's Slot settings, however it's not detecting it at all. I've set the FaH exe to use the dedicated GPU under the Nvidia control panel too. Can anyone help? Cheers
  2. Hi, I bought an MSI laptop with Windows 10 preinstalled, I'm wanting to swap out the boot drive for a better one and will have to reinstall W10. I have 2 choices, use the built in MSI recovery tool to create an image recovery (DVD or USB or ISO), or download Windows 10 image directly from Microsoft and use that to reinstall Windows. My question is, will the Microsoft version be compatible with my Digital key (which is likely OEM)? The MSI option most likely comes with bloatware again, whereas the Microsoft one should be 'vanilla'. Thanks
  3. Your CPU is pinned at 100% so you have two choices; drop to a GTX 1060/1070 (or similar perfomance options) or replace your CPU with an i7 that uses the same socket. A quick look online shows me that the i7 4770/4770k/4790/4790k CPU's use the exact same socket. What's better is that on eBay you can sell the Xeon for around £50/$65 and pick up an i7 4790k for around the same price. I'd heavily suggest buying a K varient of the old i7's as you can overclock to help match the potential of the GTX 1080. Hope this helps. Edit, you could obviously swap out for an i7 8700k etc but that would require a new / different socket motherbord (LGA 1150 vs 1151).
  4. Hi, I have an MSI GP63 laptop and I'm planning to upgrade / swap out the stock storage soon. My laptop has a single 2.5 inch drive bay plus 2 M.2 slots (1 is a dual Sata/Nvme slot and the other is strictly Nvme) I currently have an M.2 Sata SSD as the boot drive C (Windows 10 + Programs only), and a 7.2k rpm HDD as drive D (Steam library, photos, music etc). I plan to install a new Nvme SSD (120-240GB) in the empty slot, install Windows 10 on it, have it set up as a second boot option while I ensure all the programs on my original SSD are on the new one. Once this is done I'll remove the original Sata SSD and replace it with a new ~1Tb one. What I'd like to know is, would Windows on the new Nvme SSD recognise my D drive (that I plan to leave untouched)? I'll be installing Steam on the boot drive and hope it properly links back up with my library, plus I hope Windows treats my Pictures/Music folders no differently. My initial aim was to expand the storage by around 1Tb, but due to the slot arrangement I either had to install a Nvme SSD to do this or chose this cheaper/more effort option. This is my first post here and hopefully I've posted in the right subcategory, thanks in advance for your help.
