I'm in america, that would limit it to 60fps

Looking to get a M.2, main application would be for the boot drive and for some video game storage.
Got a B450 Tomahawk, which I believe is PCIe 3
Looking to spend less than $200 dollars
    Ideally, it should have 1tb - 2tb

I just don't know what I should get, there are a lot of them on the market and I don't know what would be appropriate for my needs.
    Thanks for your time :)

Redrooster got a reaction from LIGISTX in WTF? Overclocking Reducing FPS???
It worked! for some reason... Okay, so I reset the core volt and mem clock back to the default settings. After that, I tried just boosting the Memory Clock. And yeah, I'm up to +600 boost to the Memory Clock and I've gained a couple fps. Thanks! Also, a funny little aside, I forgot to remove the fps cap that I set on RTSS (170fps, I have a 1440p 165hz display, I don't need 500 fps when I'm playing old games). So the results that I'm getting from Heaven 4.0 are getting bottlenecked by my FPS cap, lmao (there are a few times in the benchmark where it sits at 170 for a few seconds).

My guess is they stopped producing them a while ago to free up manufacturing for the new series, so supply is drying up.

There are far too many posts for manual approval to be remotely feasible, and the other suggestions would adversely affect legitimate content too. We have a number of spam filtering systems in place, so the vast majority of the spam is caught before it is posted. View/edit the BBCode for a post
Posts don't use BBCode internally any more, so adding support for it would be very complicated, and would cause more problems than it would solve. Add a "use desktop site" button on mobile
Due to the way the mobile version has been implemented, it isn't technically possible. However, if there is anything that you can't do on the mobile site, please let us know so that we can try to change it, so you don't need to use the desktop version. Only cos CSGO isn't a GPU bound game hence high FPS will rely much more on your CPU.

I originally was gonna get the 3700x but luckily i found out how little it improves gaming performance over even the 3600 at 1440p. Im gonna get the 3600 now (only because I am comfortable dropping another $200 into my rig for a decent bump until late this year. once the 4000 chips roll around, if the rumors are to be believed, I'll buy the next evolution. And then I'll be set for awhile)

I think Im gonna get a 3600 or 3600x and then just wait on Ryzen 4k. (I was gonna get the 3700x but the performance bump isn't massive and you guys peaked my interest with next Ryzen talk.)
I don't mind spending $200-$250 for a decent bump, and then selling it for $100 and getting a 4000 series chip when it comes out.

It seems so yes.  It's expected to be the last series off CPUs on the AM4 socket.  Also kinda has to be, no point introducing the x570 chipset for only literally 1 generation of CPUs.  Even Intel goes 2 CPU releases with 1 chipset/socket.

Your 2060 will push over 60 fps in 1440p. Also dependent on settings and game. You don’t need g sync anymore for nvidia cards 1xxx series and up; they both work with free sync or the ‘certified’ G sync compatible monitors l.

From the fragments of original Z that I've watched, pacing is really in line with how the memes portray it as. In larger fights, it is roughly one move per episode and a lot of charge-up or shouting which makes the original Z feel too drawn out. For rough pacing, the larger, saga ending fights in original Dragon Ball would take maybe twice the time for the same type of fight in non-Kai Z.

Redrooster reacted to Touch My Hamm in What's Best Buy's "diagnostic" Tool?
As someone who worked for GeekSquad I can shine some light on any questions people have about Geek Squad practices and such. I will not give information out about specific partners since I no longer am employed with them and cannot confirm or deny who they all partner with.

The Diagnostic tool they use is a custom piece of software built on what I assume is a basic Linux disto/windows boot disc. When booted into this custom OS from either the Network/USB/CD (depending on the computer in questions capabilities or what is wrong with it) it will boot into this OS. From there it allows the agents to use many tools and software for troubleshooting. When I was there it had software for full hardware testing and multiple antivirus/antimalware tests. The antivirus/malware had multiple companies as it wanted to grab as much info as possible. You can run a complete scan allowing agents to plug in multiple machines in this virtual environment and it will send the logs to a central location where the techs can then look at this information.

Once they have more information they are decide what to do after. The reason for the diagnostic price is for multiple reasons.
    1. GeekSquad is there to make money when you bring a car to a shop they can charge you to look at it the same way regardless if there is something wrong or not. You are in theory paying someone who is trained to look at you pc.
    2. It stops everyone from rushing GeekSquad and people pushing "quick fixes" where something that can be fixed in 5min (hijacked webbrowsers I never charged for) this leads to people wanting more and more for free. So this allows them to put a wall up for that.

Note that not every GeekSquad has the same people so I can only communicate my experience and while I was there I tried to bring a professional and easy fix to all clients since GeekSquad doesn't always get the best reputation.

If so.... Honestly, not really no.
Most of the other drivers will be downloaded automatically by Windows update.

You could install the sound drivers if you want the dedicated software for it.... But it's usually garbage tier (realtek) and barely offer anything of value over plain Windows sound settings.

Redrooster reacted to Dayglorange in Boot Troubles
I upgraded from an old AMD A8 to Ryzen 5 3600, and for the first week when nothing worked I started to regret my decision there. But, once you nail down the cause, and find your fix (in my case I sent both the CPU and RAM back to Newegg for RMA) everything is great.

Even if your CPU doesn't have visibly bent pins, it can still be faulty. It could also be a matter of a few pins not having made proper contact, so removing and re-seating it again usually fixes that. If your problem still persists then it could be a fault in the CPU that isn't visibly apparent, or it could be a different component.

To test your RAM, you have a few options. Windows has a built-in memory diagnostic that you can use. I'd also suggest Memtest86 as that's been the gold standard for RAM testing for basically as long as I've been alive. Its a pain in the ass but you'll have to run tests on each stick of RAM separately as well as together, and you'll also want to test each stick in each slot on your motherboard. That can narrow down if the cause is a faulty RAM slot and not a RAM module itself.

My hard drive was acting up, it might have been something on it? I've already ordered the replacement, but I want to be able to play borderlands 3 tomorrow (I store all of my games on a 2tb Seagate USB drive, so if I can get my boot drive to work again I can just install borderlands 3 to my Seagate and play it until Saturday when I finally get an SSD boot drive)

I leave mine on but I lock it. I never bothered with that until one night I woke up a victim of the Teamviewer hack from 4 years ago. I was laying in bed and all of a sudden I get 3 emails on my phone about accounts and a 2FA push notification from Google. I look over at my desktop and windows are opening and closing with the mouse cursor moving around. I yanked the power from the wall and rebooted my computer with the network cable unplugged. They tried logging into my Steam account, paypal account, and email when they found out that I had 2FA and Steamguard active. I refuse to use Teamviewer now.

To be fair, you do have a decent upgrade path. Ryzen 3000 will net you a 15% increase in single-core performance, and you can get higher core counts and clockspeeds.
