  1. Oh, now i get it. But as far as looks are concerned, imo the XPS 13 has the superior design. The HP Spectre looks like the macbook pro's twin.
  2. I don't understand. What does the touchscreen have to do with the screen bezel? As far as i know, when making a convertible laptop you have to add bezel so it wouldn't awkward to handle in tablet mode, not the other way around.
  3. So i'm starting uni soon and i'm in a search for an ultrabook, and i narrowed it down to the XPS 13 2015 (non-touch) and the HP Spectre X360 (Convertible). Both have an i5-5200U processor, 8gb of ram, and a 256gb SSD. Both of them also cost 1000$. The only difference between them is the touch-screen display, with the dell having slightly longer battery life as a result. I find the XPS 13 more attractive, as it is lighter, smaller, more modern, and the screen is gorgeous. Also it's a matte screen. The HP Spectre on the other hand has a touch screen display, and it can fold in different ways, also you can use it with an active digitizer pen similar to the Surface Pro 3. Which, on paper sounds useful for writing notes in class, diagrams and equations, though i don't have any experience with it and neither do my friends. For that i need your help. Do you use a convertible laptop and can comment on its usefulness? or do you prefer a non-touch display for work/ study. Right now the HP Spectre seems like the wiser buy, but i'm not 100% sold on it. Thanks in advance!
  4. A great option indeed, though a core-m processor isn't gonna cut it for my workloads. I thought about getting a macbook pro, but i'm not sure i want to migrate to another OS.
  5. Do they have them with 8gb of ram? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Dell-Silver-Anodized-Aluminum-13.3-XPS-13-Laptop-PC-with-Intel-Core-i5-5200U-Processor-4GB-Memory-128GB-SSD-and-Windows-8.1/43825449 Here they show it with 4gb of ram
  6. Hello, I'll be traveling to new york next week and i'm trying to find the 1080p version of the XPS 13 2015 that comes with 8gb of ram, but it seems pretty rare and up until now i haven't found any store that has it. Does anyone have an idea where i could find one? thanks

  8. Gamers tend to exaggerate sensor supremacy, and reject all other options so that's why a lot of people think it's a mistake to go with a laser mouse. Yes, they do have inherent acceleration but mouse manufacturers have already fixed that in the firmware. Most reviewers will tell you that they don't really notice any acceleration with laser mice. It's not that big of a difference.
  9. Then it seems like you will enjoy the Func mouse more, as the sensor doesn't really make a difference for you and that's the only real reason to go with the Naos 7000.
  10. Both are very similar so it's really hard to go wrong either way. Ergonomics on both mice are the same, both are rubberized and very comfortable for palm grip. If you really need the extra "sniper button" go with the func mouse. The sensor on the Naos 7000 is superior and is very reliable, so i decided to go with the Naos 7000. The software is also very nice. One thing to note is that the DPI Indicator led on the func mouse stays orange and is unable to change, so it kinda breaks uniformity, but most people don't care. Also the left mouse button on the Func MS-3-R2 remains a bit hard to press, and is stiffer than the right mouse button which is kinda weird.
  11. This will be the last component i need to make my build complete, just bought a x99 asus motherboard this black friday and been saving for a 5820k! This is the best CPU that serves as a middle ground between gaming and editing, no doubt!
  12. Yes! Free stuff with 0.00000001% chance of winning My favorite item is definitely the 1100 V2 case, was always a fan of antec cases, rocking a p280 right now!
  13. I read a lot of mixed review about this product, battery life doesn't seem to be top-notch, and some problem with trackpad? do you own this laptop? 4K is kinda overkill for me, especially if it uses more battery life. Guys what do you think of this? http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Edition-15-6-Inch-Touchscreen-Mineral/dp/B00J49ZH56 Is it good? are there better alternatives? the 9h battery life on this sounds amazing.
  14. Hello, Looking for a new laptop and hoping you guys can help me. I'm starting university really soon and i need something to replace my 5 year old laptop. My parents are flying mid-november to NYC so they can deliver it to me, so prices are based off New York area. My budget is between 1000$-1500$. Looking for a general purpose Laptop, should be slim, with the least moving parts as possible. Not looking for a gaming laptop because i'm gaming only on my main rig. (don't care for a good graphics card, fancy lights...etc) My preferences are as follows (from most important to least important): 1)Battery life. (7-9 hours? possibly?) 2)Track pad and keyboard, not too mushy and standard layout is preferred. Trackpad should be very responsive. 3)Slimness and portability.. (yeah, i know slimness and battery life contradict each other, but i want a middle ground between both, not too bulky, but still good battery life) 4)Screen. (1080p is just fine, IPS is preferred) 5)Touchscreen. 6)Gaming capabilities. Thought already about the Macbook Air, but i don't really like OSX (not because it's bad, it's just that i prefer Windows), took into account the Dell XPS 13 (heard about bad battery life) and the Surface Pro 3 (Hinge mechanism doesn't work well with sitting on your lap, kind of a dealbreaker). Already looked all over the internet for "The Best Laptop of 2014" kind of articles but they don't really help, I trust you guys more with my money Thanks!
