Hi, I am building a computer with a r5 3600 (and would like to overclock it). For the motherboard I picked the Asrock b450m steel legend because it has all the vrm heatsinks and nice rgb. The problem is that I have an asrock board in another computer that I built and found the software to be junk. I also found the asus tuf b450m plus gaming with the same 4+2 phase vrm. Is this a good board to choose? Thanks!

I am going to buy a r720

I cannot find a complete r720 for around $250 with the specs that my current machine has (2x x5650, 2x 250gb sata hdd, 120gb ssd, 570w psu.) Is there a cable I can buy that will work or can the pcie 16x aftermarket riser supply 75w? EDIT: Is there another server by a different brand that has the same specs but includes pcie power connectors?

I recently bought a dell poweredge r710 for doing some virtualization. I would like to add a gpu like a used r9 nano or maybe a gtx 1650 but there aren't any power connectors on the motherboard. I have found a 16x riser that I can use to replace the 2 8x slot riser that was preinstalled here's a link to that. Will this riser allow me to use 75 watt gpus or will i have to find a new server? If I have to find a new server, what options are there with pcie power connectors for around $100? Thanks!

i fixed it! it turned out the wifi adapter on my motherboard was waking the system and disabling its ability to wake the system in device manager solved it.

I updated the bios and chipset driver and it still turns on right after i put it to sleep.

That worked! Thanks! I seem to be able to get 3.8ghz stable also, my computer keeps turning back on after i put it to sleep.

Hi all, I recently overclocked my Ryzen 5 2600 to 3.9 ghz (could not get more on my $99 mobo) and was able to get a fairly significant performance improvement in games and (of course) cinebench. My computer was working great until I turned it on the next day went about my usual business and when I was finished, put it to sleep. Immediately after my monitor turned off the darn pc turns on again. and instead of going to sleep and then randomly turning back on again like it usually does (help please,) it turns on and gives me a nice HAL_INITIALIZATION_FAILED blue screen. HELP!!!!! Thanks for any help!

Hi all, I recently started experimenting to see if my new Asus PB258Q could overclock. Short answer is: it didn't. I used the program "nvidia pixel clock patcher" which I found on an article about monitor overclocking for a similar monitor to mine. So I downloaded the program, ran it, and it did it's thing. Next I went to the Nvidia control panel and clicked the customize button in the resolution section. I dialed in an overclock of 75hz and, the monitor went black accept for an error message saying "out of range." After a few seconds, the monitor turned back on and the refresh rate went back to normal. Next, I tried an overclock of 65hz, which seemed to work accept for a bit of stutter which I mistakenly dismissed. Then, as I thought my monitor overclocking adventure was over, I went on to make a bootable usb drive for Manjaro Gaming linux of all things, and restarted my computer to install it alongside Windows 10. I went through the installation procedure as one does, and I hit a snag (please help) but back on topic. After failing to install linux, I went back to windows. But after watching the little dots fly around for a bit, the os had seemed to have booted, but all I saw was the error message on my monitor saying "out of range." So I thought, "lets hook up another monitor" but when i turned it on, there was a black screen with just the cursor. Thanks for the any help you can give me. PS: in manjaro, the display settings say my monitor is running at 65hz. PPS: I tried safe mode, but i couldn't access the nvidia control panel.
