  1. Hi all So I am building a new gaming system with the Lian-Li case, but I am not sure how I should approach the fan situation, what would be the most optimal fan configuration on this case? here is my build; PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD - Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor $269.00 @ Canada Computers CPU Cooler Deepcool - CAPTAIN 240EX RGB 153.04 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler $109.88 @ Canada Computers Motherboard Gigabyte - X570 GAMING X ATX AM4 Motherboard $224.99 @ Newegg Canada Memory Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory $117.99 @ Newegg Canada Storage Intel - 660p Series 1.02 TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive $129.94 @ Mike's Computer Shop Video Card XFX - Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Video Card $519.99 @ Newegg Canada Case Lian-Li - PC-O11 Dynamic ATX Full Tower Case $189.99 @ Newegg Canada Power Supply Corsair - TXM Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply $94.99 @ Canada Computers Case Fan Corsair - LL120RGB LED (Three Fans With Lighting Node PRO) 43.25 CFM 120 mm Fans $141.99 @ Powertop Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $1818.76 Mail-in rebates -$20.00 Total $1798.76 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-07-08 23:21 EDT-0400
  2. Sounds good. Thanks for your help and time, much appreciated.
  3. Thanks for the reply! So would you suggest the 2060 super or the 2070 super when it comes out? And for the motherboard, why not go with Gigabyte - X570 AORUS ELITE? There wouldn't be any BIOS issues with it than. For the CPU cooler, is there any AIO's that would work with this build instead of using the arctic freezer 34 cooler?
  4. The Verge says that the 2060 and the 2070 will launch on July 9th. So not for 2 days. But you would recommend either the 2060 or the 2070 with my build? And just to browse, do you have any cases that you would recommend, or think that would be good with this build?
  5. Are the 2060 and the 2070 supers out?
  6. If you were going to make it more of a performance build what would you change? And in regards to the windows, are you saying I should get the PRO version?
  7. Hi all! I am planning to build a gaming system for my brother that could run 1440p 75-100fps in mind. I was going to build it in Lian-Li case because I really like the look of it, but I am not 100% sure if I want to use it (let me know if you have any suggestions for cases). I have built a rough system and wanted to get your guy's thoughts on it. I have a budget of $2,000.00 CAD but would love it if it could be lower, if possible. Also, I wanted it to use the new AMD processor that just came out. Side note: Some people have said the CPU cooler is overkill if that is overkill what would you recommend for an AIO cooler for this system? Thanks for your suggestions and help! 8. Hmmm, decisions, decisions. I will take a look. Also, is it cheaper to go AMD over Intel or is there any advantages/disadvantages? My current system is intel, but I wouldn't be against doing an AMD build.
  9. Thanks for putting this together! That seems like a reasonable price for that system. For this particular build, I am not looking for anything super powerful because my brother isn't a hardcore gamer or anything thing, but does play some games that could use a decent system. This hits the ballpark in my opinion. I am going to continue looking around at other cases just to see what's out there but right now, this build is standing at the top. Thanks for the help!
  10. Do you have any general recommendations for a build (in terms of hardware) using the O11 dynamic case? Because I want to use this case but obviously do have a budget, so nothing too insane.
  11. Hey all! So I was looking to build a gaming system for my brother. I was looking to build it around the LIAN LI PC-O11 Dynamic case but was wondering what other people thoughts are on it. I really like the look of it, but I believe the case is more for custom liquid cooling than say a liquid/fan combo. I have my own system, but for this one that I am planning to build, I want it to be a bit more visually stunning. I don't have anything set in stone yet, so any thoughts and suggestions would be great! Thanks!
  12. Yeah, sounds like the advice I got a while back when I was installing the SSD for my desktop. Well, I will get the SSD and give the installation a go. If any problems arise, I will hop on the forum and give you a message. Thanks for the help!
  13. Right. After I install the SSD, I boot from the USB to install windows using BIOS. After that I can take out the USB I believe.
  14. Weirdly enough, when I installed my SSD on my desktop, I downloaded the internet drivers and put them on a separate drive. When I installed windows and turned the internet on, it wouldn't connect because it didn't have the drivers. So just to be safe I will probably download the drivers just in case. But the rest of my plan sounds good though? IN terms of removing the old drive, installing windows from the USB, and then installing the SSD?
  15. Seems like most people suggest the clean installation. If it is the same procedure than should be no fuss.
  16. Its a fairly new laptop, so I have like zero personal files on it, and if cloning is to help transfer those files to the new drive, I don't think I need to do that. So for a clean installation, I would just download the drivers for my laptop on an external drive, put windows on a USB stick. Take the old drive out, put USB in, to install windows, then put the SSD in and done!
  17. Excellent! I don't know if you know this, but what would the installation process be like? I did install an SSD as the main drive on my desktop computer and that consisted of putting windows on a USB, then installing windows through the BIOS, and then making the SSD as the boot-up drive (Very short version). I did look online for installing an SSD for a laptop and many sites said to get a SATA to USB converter and to clone the drive and such. Any thoughts?
  18. Hi allSo I was wondering if it were possible to upgrade my HDD to an SSD on my laptop? Here is my laptop http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493257 Also, here is an image of my drive https://ibb.co/r3CVFNj Would something like this work in my laptop? https://www.newegg.ca/samsung-860-evo-series-500gb/p/N82E16820147674?Item=N82E16820147674 Thanks!
  19. Ok great! Thanks for the information and help. I haven't cleaned out my GPU since I got it, so I think a little clean will do it some good. Thanks!
  20. This is the link to the information about my GPU https://www.evga.com/products/specs/gpu.aspx?pn=e466f076-3e8f-4825-b4b0-f1863e893972 For the thermal paste, I do have some ARCTIC MX-4 Thermal Paste. Would that work or do you need a different kind for a GPU? Also, I have watched that video before I noticed he used alcoholic wipes for the board of the GPU, is that needed? Like I do have some isopropyl alcohol 99%. Could I just dab some on a microfiber cloth and then wipe the board? Thanks!
  21. Hi allSo I was cleaning the inside of my system and noticed that past my GPU fans there seemed to be a fair amount of dust. Though it is in a location where I cannot access very easily (my GPU is a NIVIDA Gtx 1060 6GB). How hard is it to take the covering off of the GPU to clean inside it? Are there any concerns I should worry about if I were to clean inside my GPU? Any particular cleaning supplies would be good for the cleaning of the GPU?Note; I haven't cleaned the inside of my GPU since I got it over 2 years ago. I have cleaned the fans from time to time.Any info and suggestions would be great!
  22. Do you have the dimensions of the mouse on hand? I can't seem to find any. I want to see the size difference compared to my current mouse. And just to make sure, this is the same mouse that you have https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA9H58N40964&Description=g305&cm_re=g305-_-26-197-308-_-Product
  23. I looked at the G305 that you have and I like the design of it. I had a mouse that had a very similar shape like that, and really enjoyed it. I also noticed that Logitech do have mouses like that but are not wireless like the prodigy. Do you have any thoughts about the prodigy? And what about the G305, for a wireless mouse how does it stand up? Because I have seen I few wireless mouses but I am not sure about their consistency.
