  1. If I am not mistaken the ryzen 7 3700X is a 65W CPU, as the 3800x is the one that has 105W TDP. https://www.amd.com/pt/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-7-3700x Depending on the price it might not be worth the upgrade... I would say that if the difference is more than 50$, it is not worth it. Then there is the fact that the TDP increase may cause a need to upgrade your psu, further increasing tge price of your build.
  2. It is hard to say what you should do without knowing the prices over there... However I think that you should think about what you use the most, CPU or GPU, and make your decision from there.
  3. I said it once and I will say it again. The storage is easily upgraded!! My build has a better mobo (much more recent and way better looking) and a way better cooler that is way more efficient and much quieter, not to mention the RAM, that is 3200MHz intead of 3600MHz and has no heatsink what so ever! Storage is not to expensive and it is one of the easiest components to add to a build!!! He can get around with 500Gb for a while, as soon as he manages to buy another SSD, it is easy to install!! Just plug and play! Furthermore my build has an NVME SSD that is way faster than Sata SSD's!
  4. I admit that looks good! I just think it is not worth it personally! They are both a great choice. And I must say, nice build!
  5. Anyway, I still believe my build would be the best for you @woody30! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/khWhHB
  6. hello there! I did not quite understand one thing, what is your bedget for the PC alone? 1200$ or 1500$? Anyway, for 1500$ I suggest this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tcj6HB for 1200$ I would build this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gky6HB I think that for 4k editing a 3700X would be a great choice!
  7. Ok, now it is better, however you still have worse RAM, Cooler and MOBO. All that for an 2Tb ssd... (something that can easily added later...) You still did not take notice of the fact that @woody30 already has a case. At the expense
  8. @Nena Trinity that buid does not correspond to his budget... and you have not read his requirements. He said that he already had a case, wanted no HDD, and wanted a quiet desktop (something that both the hdd and the stock cpu cooler are bad at!). Next time check what the person wants, do not give them a generic build!
  9. Despite being more expensive, it is a good choice! I agree, Noctua does great cooler ehich are in fact very quiet, but even in the cromax lineup, they are a bit less appealing in what comes to the look. I think the dark rock pro 4 is the best choice, quiet, efficient, and good looking (after all, you will live with it for several years with it beside you). The choice is yours, the difference is marginal!
  10. Well, the mobo might not be the best choice (at least for the 279.99$ in PCpartPicker), for that price I would consider a X570 mobo, but as it has an extra fan, I would just go for a lower B550 mobo like the B550 tomahawk. For the cooler, I would go for a be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4, as it is very quiet while being a great cooler. The GPU is, while idling, silent as the fans are off, during games they will produce some noise, but there is no way around it. I would consider some 140mm be quiet pure wings 2. This is the build I would make (later you can upgrade both the storage and the RAM): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/khWhHB
  11. it is a bit hard to know the prices over there, however you might want to consider an rx5600xt! It might come out cheaper for basically the same performance. And perhaps put that money into a better PSU(550 - 650W)! And you might want to consider a better case if you get a good deal!
  12. Indeed, it is way better and it has RGB if you value that!
  13. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/VdQJrV maybe something like this... You could always upgrade the wraith spire to a AIO, or something like an BeQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 4
  14. I honestly would consider changing the psu, it appears a bit to expensive. If you just want to game at 1080p, and as you will be using blender and other cpu intensive tasks, why not lower the gpu to a 2070 or an 5700XT and upgrade your CPU? You would run modern titles just fine!
  15. I forgot to mention, the case is not the 100r but the 110r, that comes with 4 aRGB fans. The cooler is more of an aesthetic choice, and the nh-d15 is way more expensive here. I cant go for an 2070 super as it is way too expensive (here they start for 560€)... Is the rx5700xt (400 - 500€) better than the 2060 super (400-550€)? I thought it was the other way around.
  16. Budget (including currency): about 1400€ - 1500€ is my absolute max Country: Portugal - stores: PCDIGA and GLOBALDATA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: video and audio editing and gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): It is a fresh build, , there are no old parts to be reused. The objective of this build is mainly focused on editing, however I do not want to compromise to much on the gaming side of the build. Hello there; I am going to build a editing/gaming pc for a friend, and I wanted to make sure I do not make any mistakes. These are the parts I have in mind: https://pt.pcpartpicker.com/list/gKrGCL. Do you have any recomendations? Thanks for the help!
  17. Hello there; An issue has come up in my desktop. I was working in eclipse (java programming work for university) when, suddenly, the image started to get pretty messed up. It started to have some sort of ghosting (text was not well defined at all) and, in addition to this, the contrast and colour accuracy just went to hell. I have been trying to fix this for a long time now and I do not know what else to do. I have checked cables, monitor, however, I do not think it is a GPU derived problem has I tried to run Overwatch and everything became normal again, even the colour, despite this as soon as I left the game it became worse once again. I have also tried to reinstall windows with no results. The screen ghosting has disappeared, however, the colours are still not right (the black seems grey, and colours have very low contrast) and I do not understand how I might correct that. 18. Hello there! So I was trying to start using folding at home, when I noticed the program was not using my gpu at all. I went into the settings and it simply isn't there. Can you help me?
  19. Firstly I think that your ram choice is a bit overkill, a 3200Mhz or a 3600Mhz kit would be enough. B450 is also good enough for a ryzen 5. You did not have storage in your build, so I added an m.2 SSD By not spending so much in ram I was able to add a 1660 super and a hyper 212 black edition that will according to the manufacture fit in the case cooler. Resuming: better cooling Storage included better gpu Same CPU PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor £185.99 @ Amazon UK CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition 42 CFM CPU Cooler £29.99 @ Amazon UK Motherboard Gigabyte B450 I AORUS PRO WIFI Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard £110.99 @ CCL Computers Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory £83.99 @ Amazon UK sStorage Western Digital Blue 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive £55.70 @ Amazon UK Video Card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB OC Video Card £204.99 @ Box Limited Case Fractal Design Node 304 Mini ITX Tower Case £69.48 @ Amazon UK Power Supply EVGA SuperNOVA GM 450 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular SFX Power Supply £75.46 @ Scan.co.uk Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total £816.59 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-03-06 19:58 GMT+0000 If you only want to pay less, you colud do this: just downgrade the gpu back to the 1650super and use the CPU's stock cooler. 20. If I were you I'd think about getting a lower end CPU and upgrading your gpu. The 2060 is very good, however you should consider a 2060 super (on the nvidea side) or even a 5700xt. this is the build I'd do. 21. That is the plan! I just use it for pictures, documents, and some games I play. As you said it is quite slow, so it is a bit bad for gaming. The M.2 would be used mainly to store my mostly played games the rest would go to the HDD. Thanks for the advice!
  22. I am actually not thinking on replacing it just adding some fast storage. I do not even know if that really is the right hdd, it was in my PS4 (I installed a 2tb HDD). Thanks!
