Nvidia has done a good job at convincing me that they're putting the work in to expand the utility of their architecture and drivers. I find myself using the RTX enhancements to video through Super Resolution and HDR, even their new Chat with RTX. All being features they've just added for free as apart of their software suite.

The 'RTX tax' we all saw back in the RTX 2000 series is becoming worth it over time, considering something like an RTX 2060 Super can now be used in an AI upscaling home threatre machine and/or local LLM server. That also comes with the expectation that they might not support their older GPUs with new features or that it wouldn't resell as easy as something like an RTX 4070 Super with its power efficiency/compact size.

We'll have to see what happens with RTX 5000 series, if we even get high end cards. If the AI performance is as insane as Nvidia is claiming, something like an RTX 4050 might end up being a DLSS/frame generation/AI/home theatre monster.

As it stands, frame gen (on games where you really care about FPS) is kinda crap.

Neither the 4070 Super, or the 3090 will be limited in FPS anytime soon in normal gaming.

Basically pick if you want the VRAM (3090) or extra tech, at the expense of VRAM (4070 Super)

Will return the card, thank you for your reply.

Edit: I've found some simular posts and it could be the aluminum thats working because of the heat difference.

If you can't find any physical issues, then that very well is probably the cause. You get similar effects when you hear a chassis creak.

Dont screw one screw all the way inn at the beginning, only until it bites then try the other screws and then do two turns per screw until all are screwed in.  Recommended to work in a star pattern,  top left, bottom right, bottom left, top right repeat.
A little bit of force might be required for the screws to bite.

Been running my Zotac 4070Ti for 8 or 9 months now, so far so good. Runs at 3GHz/12000 with my OC. Fans are quiet. A little tip for possible future Zotac owners.. the stickers on my fans were more like medallions, and the furthest fan had one installed off center, causing a vibration at X speed. Pulled those off the fans and everything is right as rain.

Unless something has changed you can't set up scheduled scans with the free version of Malwarebytes. I'm going to assume by the question that @tanjackson is using the free version or is trying to write a script to do it for someone else who is.

At least with that card, its only 2x 8pin versus the tentacle monster of a 600W 4x8pin 12VHPWR. Worst case, I'd see if your power supply has a 1st party internally adapted cable. Those generally work even better than 1:1 12VHPWR from a 12VHPWR native PSU.

I appreciate the input. Definitely food for thought and made me look at things a bit more.

Apparently a mistake I had made was only recently looking at the pricing of the 4070 Ti Super and not the 4070 Super. That made a difference. Now sure how I overlooked that. My system is a white build but I decided that the black ASUS 4070 Super Dual wouldn't really ruin the aesthetics. The price difference between the white 4070 vs the black 4070 Super was really too small to gripe about. Going with the white 4070 Super would have been more than I wanted to spend including taxes.

I grabbed the ASUS Dual 4070 Super OC for $599 from Amazon. $652.59 after tax.

Only downside is I now have a 12 pin connector to deal with. Such is life.

NOTE: Apologies for any formatting errors, etc. Significant power outage and even cell service isn't great at the moment so I'm not proofreading as much as I normally would.

I tend to be picky when it comes to manufacturers so my options were limited to begin with. I did look at 3 fan designs but that seemed to increase the price substantially and price was a limiting factor. With respect to going with a white card I still would have preferred it but the black ASUS card I went with shouldn't ruin the overall look.

    ....  i wouldn't get a 2x fan card if at all possible...

there are some white 3x fan models, have you considered those?

i understand the need for a white card though,  they're obviously much faster! look much better in a white case,  i mean!

I'm in the same boat, I have a KISS approach to most things including PC components.

I will say though if you were limiting yourself to white only models, you'd be better off looking at 4070 Super's (yes, I see you do mention to not mention this, but its worth it) since price wise, a white 4070 versus white 4070S aren't far off in price. $530 vs $570 between those isn't worth it, but $570 vs $620 is to go with Super.

Just something to consider, if you're not going with that $530 model and REALLY want white. The extra $90 being worth it if you wanted white specifically to also get another 15% or so performance.

$10 more for a comparably similar model, total $60 more for 15% more performance being worth it still.

Its barely more than 2 slots, decent length, and doesn't require software since it doesn't have RGB to turn off. I don't see another card that's comparably priced, but if you don't want to install companion software, stay away from RGB models.

Unless you're giving yourself an arbitrary aesthetic choice of white, consider the Gigabyte models as well.

Parker Kincaid got a reaction from atxcyclist in Is Cloudflare DNS acting up for other people?
ISP defaults, in my experience, have always been awful on top giving your ISP more ways to get info and possibly make money off you. That said, I prefer Cloudflare, overall, but you could use most of the bigger known "free" DNS providers without really noticing a difference. Some, obviously, provide more in the way of security or blocking malicious domains, etc. OpenDNS while it was superior to my ISP DNS wound up being troublesome. Quad9 was definitely faster than OpenDNS when I switched over. The same goes for Cloudflare, IMO, compared to OpenDNS. Numbers are numbers but there's also some subjectiveness in real-world use, IMO. I use both Cloudflare and Quad9 just for redundancy where if there's an issue with one my backup is a different provider altogether.

I did a quick resolve time comparison between a few DNS servers:
Adguard (176.103.130.130) - Resolve time: 66 ms Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) - Resolve time: 76 ms Google Public DNS (8.8.8.8) - Resolve time: 73 ms OpenDNS (208.67.220.220) - Resolve time: 65 ms Quad9 (9.9.9.9) - Resolve time: 66 ms All pretty close with Cloudflare being the straggler. Between Cloudflare & Quad9 I can't honestly perceive any difference in use.
