Reading Into that article you linked, the ux430un has the 25w version, but it trottles down to be right between both versions in performance. 
 
I'm ok with that. I'm not buying it as a gaming machine, but rather a productivity device that I can play a few casual games while on the go.

i mean its the same thing as having something other than a pen out in a test. you could have (for some odd reason) written test answers on it and used it to cheat. Legally he probably doesn't, but your school policy probably allows teachers to confiscate anything they are suspicious of. he shouldn't have a reason to take it, but he can.
 
best way to deal with it is to be polite and easy. Ask if you can just put it away, and if not just say "ok i will pick it up at the end of class"
