WinNut got a reaction from WhitetailAni in Experiences with non-techies
I must say that the "Ignore" feature on this forum is quite useful.

He's right, you know. Intel does have a higher instruction-per-clock rate and consumes a lot less power than AMD processors.

I was watching the news before and they were talking about the Sony hack, when they said the word "hack" they played a screen capture video of three blank command prompts being opened and resized to fill up the entire screen, and called that "hacking". Me=

or tell the school that they are a bunch of retards
Today there was an iPad in the library (I was loaning them out) with no interwebz connection since somehow they all lost connection over the summer and had to be reconnected, this girl told me to go to Setting, find the Internet box, and enter the password for the internet box. WAT
I found that disrespectful since she was talking in a tone that suggested I was inferior to her (it was a 6th grader, I'm in 8th.)

The computers in my school run so hot, when you walk into the I.T. room/computer lab it feels like a fucking oven.

Today i was in the library and was on a computer.
Girl: Is this computer working? *points at computer next to me*
Me: Yep.
Computer: *monitor in standby mode and computer is off*
Girl: *turns monitor off and back on again*
Me: wat, you need to turn on the actual computer.
Girl: oops, turns on computer
Computer: Warning! System battery voltage is low. Press F1 to continue, F2 to enter setup
Girl: OMFG WHAT DO I DO? (this is a sassy black girl)
Me: Hit F1.
Girl: Shouldn't I go into setup? (bascially "Can I go and fuck up the BIOS?")
Me: NO. Press F1.
Girl: *holds down "F" on keyboard and presses 1*
Girl: WHY ISN'T THIS WORKING?
Me: *reaches over and hits F1*

I took down a school projector 2 days ago (it's scary holding a projector that's mounted 8ft above the ground) and opened it up in the I.T./computer lab room.
Me= HOLY SHIT, such dust, much wow
IT guy= This explains a lot of problems.

Our city DOE (NYCDOE) has a custom proxy that everyone is connected to, they let LTT through but blocked Imgur, as @CreepersCrawlers told me.

What I meant was that we have plenty of half-inserted plugs in the school, it really scares me.
I opened up a computer once and found a empty bag of chips in the FDD. U WOT M8

A kid in summer school:
"I'm going to ask my friend to hack the school website to get the answer key."
Everything at the school is stored on-site on the computers.

I was doing some work in the Ubuntu terminal, my mom freaked out when she saw what happens when you type in sudo apt-get update.
In my school, anything that is not Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or things like that is hacking.

Again, I was called a "hacker" by a classmate in Saturday school. Why? I have a two-monitor setup.
The setup has now been disassembled as summer is here and the room where the setup is does not have an air-conditioning unit.

The Optiplex GX2xx series actually had a case that would open like the hood to a car, you pushed in two buttons and raised the case.
-

A lot of older cases don't have thumb screws and schools don't like thumb screws because anybody (like me) could open the case.

I know people that cannot identify a VGA connector and think that all USB is used for is flash drives.

Alright now that I am on my beautiful PC *cough not cough* I will tell you what happened with the troll.
A few pages back somebody, I think it was @tmccelland455, made a post about girls and lipsticks. The offending user apparently was ticked off by this and made an account to combat it. She wrote something about "that irl is me bae bitch" and @ElfFriend and I stated that her obsessive use of acronyms like "bae" and hashtags made her look like a moron considering that this is a high-end forum where intelligent communication takes place and we don't do things like that. She wrote back (mind you, I quote this) "giving no fvcks tbh" in pink Courier New, 24-point.
I then wrote something (I don't remember what) and she posted a .GIF of some girl with pink hair doing some weird dance, at which point I replied, "Mother Mary, are you serious?" and mentioned the name of a moderator. Within 3 minutes of that post she was banned.
Let's move on with life.
