  1. >shows HL1 headcrab >labels as "Half Life 2" >"these graphics do not look that much better than Half Life 2" You're comparing a game from 2004 to one from 2020 and saying it doesn't look that much better???
  2. 64GB of ram is wayyy overkill for gaming, get 16 gigs A 3800X is equivalent/beats performance of 9900K at 1440p and is cheaper and cooler You don't need NVMe for gaming, it only makes loading times 1 second faster vs SATA watercooling is not for beginners and isn't much if at all better than air cooling 2080 super is only slightly better than a 2070 super whilst being way more expensive PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 3.9 GHz 8-Core Processor ($373.34 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE ATX AM4 Motherboard ($184.99 @ Amazon) Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory ($102.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($146.43 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate FireCuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive ($107.88 @ Amazon) Video Card: MSI GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB VENTUS OC Video Card Power Supply: Corsair RM (2019) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Total: $915.63 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-01-18 21:32 EST-0500 (excludes case and fans) edit: whoops didn't realize the pc was already built, i suppose just take this as advice for later upgrades/builds
  3. 1 Logitech G203 Prodigy 2 Gaming & Media 3 Lighter 4 3.5 5 No 6 Wired 7 Yes 8 1 9 4.5 10 Matte 11 4 12 No 13 Yes (however i prefer static rather than RGB cycling) 14 After long-term use (several hours) palms become sweaty and make mouse usage uncomfortable
  4. That 3570K can still last a while, the 8Gb of ram and 1050Ti could be a problem though. Lower the settings since the 1050Ti can only run recent AAA games (2018 or newer) at medium settings. Maybe find a used 1060 6GB, and find a well reviewed 2X8 16GB DDR3 ram kit.
  5. IPS has better colors and viewing angles (colors stay the same if viewed from an oblique angle), TN panels are the opposite however cheaper, VA/SVA panels are a good in-between (SVA is better than VA). IPS is best for purely watching movies/video, VA and TN are better for gaming
  6. CPU first then GPU later on, for now you can pick up a Ryzen 5 1600AF with a B450 board for around 160-170$ and play at lower res/graphic settings to help your 1060 keep up.
  7. I also use the Wraith Stealth and, yes it is very quiet (i can barely hear it over my 19Db case fan) and is perfectly viable if you don't plan on overclocking.
  8. AMD Athlon X4 950 (@ 3.8 GHz) --> R5 2600 (@ 3.7GHz) G.SKILL Value 1x8GB 2.4 GHz --> Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3 GHz Hitachi 7K2000 2TB --> Samsung 860 EVO 1TB (SATA3) HP W1707 17" 1440x900 60Hz --> HP W2007 20" 1680x1050 60Hz --> MSI MAG241C 23.6" 1080p 144Hz Logitech C270 (using the built-in mic) --> Fifine 669B
  9. Yes it is being bottlenecked. Get an R5 1600AF with a B450 board for around 170$, if you're on a smaller budget, go for a used 6th gen i7 and keep your mobo
  10. Keep the R9 390 and save that 200-250 for a CPU/Mobo/RAM upgrade, a R5 1600AF, a B450 board and 16GB 3/3.2GHz ram would cost approx 200-250
  11. 3900X. According to PassMark the 3900x has better single core and (obviously) better multicore performance. To my knowledge there aren't any major bios issues (correct me if i'm wrong) and the CPU should infact be more secure than the 9900K. According to the comparison you linked, the 3900X scored top in 2/3 of the benchmarks, only beat once by 0.06% from an AMD CPU.
  12. 1.7K hours on GMod, (probably 150-200 hours AFK and loading though) 1.4K on Unturned (although I've recently quit, I'm currently waiting for the sequel) 190 hours on Blockstorm (however the game basically died and I've quit) 140 Hours on Tower Unite (starting to get back into) The rest of my games i have around 50-100 hours in, theres few i occasionally play if at all.
  13. This cooler design has huge potential and I'd love to see it maybe even passively cool 95W CPUs (within a reasonably small size) in the near future. It amazes me that this is equivalent if not better than watercooling and CHEAPER than a 280MM or bigger AIO with the MSRP being 120 USD and most (good quality) 280MM+ AIOs are over 140 USD. Also take into account no pump required and thus better reliability.
  14. my loud, prob used 2TB Hitachi HDD with an SSD, likely a Samsung. like seriously this thing is about 3 or 4 times louder than my case fans when reading/writing.
  15. If a replacement mobo is $285, you might as well get a new mobo/ram/cpu for ~$300 PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($139.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: ASRock B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($78.95 @ Amazon) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($67.98 @ Amazon) Total: $286.92 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-11-23 21:29 EST-0500 Slight FPS increase and greater multitasking/editing ability Could also sell the ram/cpu to get a 3600
  16. This CPU is an absolute joke. In 98% of real world and synthetic benchmarks a 3950X and sometimes even a 3900X is level with or beats it. Why use Cinebench and Blender in this video to benchmark the "Worlds fastest gaming CPU" according to Intel?! Although I get the niche of this CPU when it comes to silicon lottery, but if you're building a new bleeding edge system and want to save money why not go AMD? And you'll for sure save in the cooling department as well.
  17. It depends If you're using an AMD Ryzen CPU, 2933/3000MHz (or faster) ram is recommended If you're using an Intel CPU, ram speed doesn't really matter as much. Although it would be a sort of downgrade, in the real world it'll only increase fps by maybe 5, personally i would rather have 12 or 16GB of DDR3 than 8GB DDR4
  18. PCPartPicker Part List Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($139.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate FireCuda 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive ($59.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: XFX Radeon RX 580 8 GB GTS XXX ED Video Card ($0.00) Power Supply: EVGA 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply ($85.15 @ Amazon) Total: $285.13 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-10-25 00:31 EDT-0400 Gonna steal take my brother's RX 580 once he upgrades. 1TB SSD for OS, drivers, games and freq used apps and a 1tb SSHD for internal backup (maybe?), images and videos. New PSU since I'm scared my 450W EVGA BT is not gonna play nice with a 185W card, plus modularity is gonna help for cable management and airflow. After this i think I'll be happy with the internals of my system for a few years. 1050 ti -> RX 580 2TB HDD -> 1TB SSD & 1TB SSHD 450W EVGA BT -> 650W EVGA GQ
  19. Minecraft: since 2014 Battlefield 4: Since 2015/2016 Unturned & Gmod: 1.4k hours* *approx 75-85% actual playtime
  20. You should definitely increase your budget a bit if you want an okay-good quality PSU. The Be Quiet! System Power 9 500W 80+ Bronze PSU seems like a good pick for the pricing. it is a Tier B on the PSU Tier list. Or you could go with the Be Quiet! Pure Power 11 400W 80+ Gold PSU if you don't plan on overclocking and should power a 1660 and a 2600 well, each are around €55 in pricing.
  21. i would say to avoid both monitors and go for this one it has a VA panel which means that it has better color accuracy and better colors at oblique angles (looking from the side) TN panels have worse color accuracy however are faster, but this monitor is within budget and is best of both worlds.
  22. Turns out it was an HD 6630M (apple website was wrong?) according to this userbenchmark of the machine 6630M drivers have been installed, no issues so far, will update if there are any more.
  23. We have tried 6730M, 6770M and even 6750 (non M) drivers, even tried crimson beta. none worked and gave the same error "We are unable to find a driver for your system. No supported AMD hardware was detected."
  24. I cannot find any 6750M drivers anywhere on amd's website, they have 6730m, 6770m, but not 6750m. (for windows 10 64 bit)
  25. Their Specs: i5-2400s, 4GB DDR3, AMD 6750M, 500GB HDD Linux mint 19.2 cinnamon to windows 10 He uses an all-in-one 2011 mac so there's not much he can do internally "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION" "What failed: igdkmd64.sys" i have searched this online and it says it has to do with the GPU drivers, although what can he do if it bluescreens instantly when it boots to windows? Windows update installed Intel drivers instead of AMD, but theres nothing he can do on the OS or internally
