  1. Just got a Mahogany panel. Same project but with new stereo and speakers. ?
  2. After a couple more mistakes I'm finally done! This radio pulls in stations that's out of town so it's weak and mostly static. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyEVRb4mcLc&feature=youtu.be
  3. Nearly finished. Waiting on the antenna cable before I can close it up but here it is.
  4. Painted! Let's see how it look installed. It's a coincidence that the paint matched the cones of the speakers. ? Cutting a straight line with a dremel is tricky even with the guide but by the time I cut the bottom part of the hole I got the hang of it.
  5. So far today... still working. ?
  6. They're in and I see what you mean about the cage. It's separate from the housing. I didn't know they separate. Here's the stereo: Here's the speakers (showing one): The PSU: Some tools: Let's see how it fits:
  7. They are but these speakers are going to look cool. ? Out for delivery today. ?
  8. Ok I will but are there any cool card to consider (budget wise)? I realized I have the 6670 to fall back on (in my i5 PC) though.
  9. True I don't need a card but how much longer is it going to last?
  10. It came out in 2012 and when I built my i3 PC in 2013 I bought a Sapphire HD6670 1gb DDR3 128 bit video card. Later I upgraded it to Sapphire HD7770 1gb GDDR5 128 bit. It's been in 3 builds since. Since I'm not a heavy gamer it doing well with me. Compared to today's budget video cards, how dated is my card? My card is 7 years old so what a good VC to look at budget wise?
  11. I have a Rizen 5 2600 and I'm real happy with it. Real bangs for the bucks. If mine runs that good hell, the bigger Ryzens are going to blow you away.
  12. Bugs me to wait for sufficient funds to continue with my project. ?
  13. Talk about brain racking looking for a decent set of speakers on a budget. I thought I had a set but after plowing through dozens of models on Amazon I finally found a pair. I'm going 6.5" instead of 5.25". https://www.amazon.com/Skar-Audio-RPX65-Coaxial-Speakers/dp/B01BFK1X4A/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8
  14. 18W RMS per channel is plenty. I'll be happy with dat. ? At listening level it should be hi def.
  15. That's what I thought but AC is going to push AND pull won't it? Only DC will have polarity.
  16. I just added an afterthought before I saw your post so check previous post. The one I'm interested in seems to be the best bet (so far, still browsing) https://www.amazon.com/Aigoss-Bluetooth-Receiver-Speakerphone-Hand-Free/dp/B07J4JV391/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=car+stereo+receiver&qid=1555640237&s=gateway&sr=8-8
  17. Quite well thank you for asking. ? My pain clinic doc added some medications for me and it helped a truck load (finally). I will not bore you with the details.
  18. I remember when I was so hung up on video games (I used to write them). In fact I built a Raspberry Pi project that looked like a mini Nintendo box. It uses a RetroPie OS and Emulation Station and loaded with 4500+ games on 12 consoles. I used to play guitar and others things. All that's behind me because I've aged and lost interest.
  19. At the beginning I was going to get this unit shown in the first post. Got screwed by Walmart so I'm ordering a better unit though it cost more. It's so I can finish the project. I think I can get HD at a higher RMS before THD. I'm not looking to get loud though that would be fun. Just a nice little jamming box. I just had a thought. For a long time I thought some stereos had DC output, high power would use AC output. Now for those with AC output why would the speaker wires be designated with + and - ?
