Bluetac reacted to PlayStation 2 in BEWARE STEAM ACCOUNTS BEING HACKED!
Keep in mind that how most legitimate sites handle Steam integration is simple: they're only supposed to get a simple token that tells the site that you used your account to integrate it into said site. Ideally, it's a token that confirms your account and nothing else. I won't claim to 100% know what that information entails outside of acknowledging it's your account, but that's what it's supposed to be.
Any site claiming to be Steam (or claiming to offer Steam integration) and requires you to log into your Steam account when you're already signed into Steam in said browser isn't legitimate period.

Steam or Valve isn't at fault for mistakes you made. Just have 2 factor authentication on your email and steam account and you would have been fine, even if you shared the same password (though you shouldn't share the same password for different accounts anyway).

Bluetac reacted to Spotty in BEWARE STEAM ACCOUNTS BEING HACKED!
Don't provide your steam login details to anyone or login to any websites other than store.steampowered.com
Use multi factor authentication
Never use the same passwords across multiple sites
Don't click on links sent to you by people you don't know

Bluetac reacted to Slick in Floatplane Subscriptions & Migrating to Floatplane.com
As you may have heard we'll be moving all subscriptions off the LTT Forums and on to Floatplane.com. You will no longer be able to subscribe through the forum AND all billing agreements made through the forum will be cut off. At this time we request that all users cancel their subscriptions on the forum and start new subscriptions on Floatplane.com.
Subscriptions done through the forum have been a major accounting problem for a long time now as the forums billing agreements have all been with Linus Media Group instead of Floatplane media which is an accounting nightmare that we are going to try to avoid in 2019.
As a gift for dealing with the hassle of migrating things over, and to cover any time you had left on your subscription, we will be granting two bonus months to all creators that you are subscribed to on Floatplane.com AND you’ll gain access to an exclusive live chat emoji all on January 31st.
Steps to migrate successfully:
1) Cancel your subscription on the LTT Forum
Method 1, Cancelling through the Forum:
Hide contents
Go to this link: https://linustechtips.com/main/clients/billing-agreements/
click view details(on the right)
Click on view(on the right)
Then click cancel(on the left)
These steps are correct for most people but sometimes the cancel button is sneaky and decides to be somewhere else or isn't there at all.. This is another reason we are moving away from the LTT forums as we can't fix some of the payments problems. If these steps don't work for you please move on to Method 2.
Method 2, Cancelling through PayPal:
Hide contents
Go to this link: https://www.paypal.com/myaccount/autopay/
Scroll through your active autopays and click on 'Linus'.
On the right hand side there should be a Status row that shows 'Active' Click the 'Cancel' Button beside it.
Click 'Cancel Automatic Payments' on the next popup.
If this fails for whatever reason.. Move on to method 3.
Method 3(Last Resort), Sudo cancel subscription:
Hide contents
Send an email to support@floatplane.com
Let them know your forum Username/Email and they'll take care of you. Just a heads up that the wait time will be higher than normal as we are receiving a lot of support tickets right now.
2) Create or sign in to your existing Floatplane.com account, you can use a forum linked account, that's no problem at all.
3) Subscribe to whatever creators you want to support. https://www.floatplane.com/browse
4) Sit back and enjoy the content!
5) If you had a yearly subscription – Please send an email to support@floatplane.com with your forum account name and your floatplane account name. They will make sure you get the time you had remaining on your forum subscription added to your new floatplane website subscription.
Yearly options on the new site are not available at this time but will be soon.
If all else fails.. Just send an email to support@floatplane.com with any relevant account names, emails, etc. and we'll have you taken care as soon as possible!
Thanks!

Bluetac got a reaction from Sabir in Should i wait for PG35VQ ?
Also got my eye on this, have had for what seems like forever. 1440p is plenty sharp enough and easier to drive than 4k add HDR to the mix and this is imo the ultimate gaming monitor; if it ever ships....

Bluetac got a reaction from LunaP0n3 in Wifi interference from neighbours
It's also worth installing WIFI analyzer app on your phone so you can scan for channels least used along with the frequency they are using so as to help you to pick the best/least used one.

Now you are only bound by the ability to install your own OS.
Forget all the memes about Apple removing features, Google is removing the whole OS!

Bluetac reacted to demonix00 in Why do hard game copies don't come with a full downloaded game?
You can't with those that have codes that you have to redeem on steam or any other platform as the original installation media becomes completely useless once the key has been redeemed.

Up to you. Wait for the benchmarks to come out.
There was also a thread on one of the deca-core variants reaching 5GHz on all cores, which could mean the hexa-core hits the same level of speed.
If the CPU sells for $400, AMD might be in trouble as enthusiasts usually don't care for bang for buck if an extra $200 means better performance all-around.

Bluetac reacted to aithos in Try 4th RMA on PG279Q or try my luck with the Acer Predator XB271HU
But you aren't dealing with dead pixels, you're dealing with back-light bleed and if you send Asus and email explaining your situation it's likely they will go out of their way to make sure you get a good panel. These companies know that it is in their best interest to get people taken care of, and if you've ever seen the company reps on sites like Newegg posting on negative reviews to resolve issues then that's what they are doing.
Also, if you've gotten 3 bad panels then you are well within your rights to request a full refund from NCIX as they clearly have been unable to take care of you. At this point I'd be telling them that either they give me a refund or I'm contacting my credit card company to dispute the charges and keeping their monitor. With your level of issues their "return policy" doesn't apply, you just need to be polite but firm when dealing with them and make sure you're talking with someone who has the authority to make decisions.

Bluetac reacted to WMGroomAK in Dutch court rules that Apple cannot supply ‘refurbished or remanufactured’ iPads as warranty replacements
I would think a part of this would depend on the length of warranty and whether any new products are available anymore. If it is a product that has ceased the production run, then a replacement of a certified remanufactured or refurbished that carries on the warranty terms should be acceptable.

Bluetac reacted to CaptainGazzz in Dutch court rules that Apple cannot supply ‘refurbished or remanufactured’ iPads as warranty replacements
If the wifi breaks on a 4 month old device, it was a defect in manufacturing. Apple failed to deliver a proper product and should give the product that they promised.
