  1. I figured as much, I was hoping someone had found that correlation, but I guess not. Thanks!
  2. I've been trying to troubleshoot how to enable the fan-stop mode on my 3060ti FE. I had heard it was possible, and that new Afterburner update has the new "override zero fan" checkbox, so I thought that would help, but no. Today, seemingly randomly, my fanstop kicked in. I was super confused and restarted, and after a certain amount of time, fanstop kicked in again. However on my second restart (I wanted to see if it was time-based) fan-stop didn't enable. Any idea what might be causing this or what I can do to enable this manually? I've included an Afterburner screenshot of when fanstop enabled the first time. I'm using a Ryzen 5 3600 and a 3060ti FE in an SFF case (hence the undervolt curve). No hardware or software chnges between attempts, had the same apps running during tests as well.
  3. I've been digging around for good prices on Noctua fans, and found that AliExpress has some pretty competitive prices. Only caveat is that it's AliX... they look legitimate, but you never really know. Does anyone have experience buying Noctua products on ALiX? Does Noctua have any known partnerships with AliX retailers? Any stores you can recommend? Here are some I'm looking at: PC Cooles Store PC Good Store Yao Yue Store Red Area Digital Tech Store Ruile Cooler Store KY Store Any input is appreciated, thanks everyone!
  4. Audio and video completely out of sync. Seems to have happened recently. It's like the audio was trimmed from the beginning and the video was trimmed from the end. But YouTube is conflicted and displays a different video in the scrub preview, plus the scrub preview disagrees with the video length. Edit: Fixed itself? Weird anomaly.
  5. Sold my school laptop in late 2019 to upgrade to a desktop after graduating. Went a little bit too deep but now it's at a point that I can be proud of (still missing sleeved cables though... one day!) I use it for primarily graphic design and some gaming on the side. SPECS: Asus Strix B450-i | Ryzen 7 2700 | GTX 1080 FE | Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 8x2 3200 | Corsair RM550x | Samsung 970 Evo 500gb NVME M.2 NZXT H210 | Kraken X53 | Kraken G12 w/ Corsair H55 + Noctua NF-A9 NZXT RGB & Fan Controller | NZXT Internal USB Hub | AER RGB Fan x2 | NZXT RGB Strips x4 | Cablemod AIO Sleeving Kit PERIPHERALS: MS Designer M&K | Bose Companion 20 Speakers | Asus VX238H 1080p 60 | Asus PB287Q 4k 60 I played around with overclocking too (since I was on a laptop before...) and decided to collect the results and share them with you all! (I know the RAM overclock isn't technically an overclock. I just thought I'd include it since it doesn't run at full speed out of the box.) Obviously in a more comprehensive test I would run some real-world-application tests like a 4k render, video encode, etc. Either way, I thought it was a lot of fun and wanted to share! Feel free to comment your thoughts on my overclocks and results, or any advice!
  6. Hi all, Build a pc a couple months ago and all was working well. Yesterday I disassembled to add an NZXT Kraken AIO and now the debug LEDs show a yellow DRAM error. All RGB LEDs come on and all fans spin, AIO pump powers on. Powered off, removed one stick, and got a post and into windows! Assumed problem was solved and just had a bad RAM stick. Left for 30 mins and came back, no post again, yellow DRAM led. Have tried no RAM, single stick, swapped sticks, etc. Cleared CMOS (although no way to tell if I did that correctly... ) not sure what to try next. I will note the one time I got in to windows was a very long boot. Debug LEDs cycled through all twice before posting after about 30/45 seconds. Not sure if that's useful info or not. Specs: MOBO: Asus Strix B450i Gaming RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 2/8gb 3200 CPU: Ryzen 7 2700 GPU: Strix 1070 PSU: Corsair Rm550x ETC: NZXT Kraken x53, NZXT rgb & fan controller I'm at a loss because a) it worked perfectly yesterday and b) it did work once today. Any help is appreciated! Thanks everyone, Mike
  7. I recently got a used Strix GTX 1070 from Facebook Marketplace and since it's my first build in a long time (and first time buying pc parts used) I neglected a good visual inspection and instead made sure that it ran properly and that was it. So let's move past the fact that I'm dumb and get that out of the way first. Anyway, one of the fans is missing a fin which doesn't affect cooling or noise unless under load, at which point it does get quite loud. The heatsink near the power connector are also a little dinged up but nothing major there. Is there a source for OEM Asus fan/heatsink replacements, or am I stuck hoping for the best from Ebay and Aliexpress? Alternatively, I'm thinking of watercooling some time down the line with NZXT G12 mount and Kraken cooler (mostly for noise and aesthetics), so should I just hold off on replacing parts? I'd only really opt to replace the fan in the meantime if it was relatively cheap and an easy install. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks guys.
  8. Charging seems to take longer and longer, cable turns yellow and honestly just looks awful.. I'll give ebay a look!
  9. Does anyone know of any reputable sources for 3rd party Macbook chargers? I'm specifically looking for one for an early 2015 A1502 13" Macbook Pro Retina. This will be the third one I've had to buy since getting the machine... I'd hate to have to keep buying $60-80 OEM ones if there's a good 3rd party out there. Thanks for your help!Mike

  11. @Minibois @NunoLava1998 @suchamoneypit All figured out! All known issues on Dell XPS models. First, Nvidia was defaulting to using the iGPU and never the Nvidia GPU, which I fixed. Second, core speed was limited to 0.8ghz on both AC and battery mode. This is apparently caused by the motherboard not detecting battery power correctly and switching to a "safe mode" to save power. Disconnecting the battery inside the laptop for a minute and reconnecting resolves the issue. GPU now functioning properly, and CPU running at full capacity. Cinebench and 3DMark scores reflect this as well. Thanks everyone for the help! This was a great introduction to the forum Mike
  12. Thanks for the breakdown! I ran a few more tests and found that my CPU is also capping at 0.8ghz but even when on AC power... I'll do some digging and see if I can see what is causing this, including BIOS updates, Dell Hardware diagnostic tests, etc. Hopefully I'll be back with good news! I'll do some good old fashioned Google work too and see what I can find. Thanks again!
  13. So I ran both the cinebench and 3D Mark benchmarks. The cinebench seemed extremely low, especially compared to the other 730-740 benchmarks (see screenshot) and the 3D Mark tests seemed passable? I'm not too sure. I ran both NightRaid and FireStrike (basic version). Let me know what you think. Again, I"m new to all this software so I may not be using it correctly, I'm not too sure lol On the same note, I used MSI Afterburner to monitor the CPU temps and it seemed it didn't reach any unusually high temps. Any help is appreciated again and thanks!
  14. I figured this out. There's a setting in the NVIDIA control panel to default to using the nvidia GPU or "auto-select". I switched it to the nvidia gpu and my benchmark results improved somewhat. I'll till run the other benchmarks to see what happens! Apparently its a known issue on Dell XPS models that when on "auto-select" gpu mode they rarely (if ever) use the nvidia gpu. weird.
