  1. This will be fun, also a question. Can i use canned compressed air to blow the dust off of the CPU socket?
  2. I'll try re seating the CPU and check if there's any dust. Unfortunately I live in the middle of nowhere So i can't test it out. I do have another PC that works 'currently in usage'. But I got no idea if it supports the other CPU
  3. Thanks for the reply. My System worked fine until i turned it off and then it wouldn't boot anymore. Well actually it booted but I had no display at all the fans were spinning the mouse and keyboard lights were on. But now the fans spin for a second and stop The LED on the motherboard is lit if that signifies anything and when I unplug the power to the CPU the fans spin a little longer but stop too. Should I try re seating the cpu?
  4. Hello everyone, to my surprise I thought my PSU was dead I even made another topic about it. I just presumed it died and posted. But Out of boredom i did the paperclip test and my PSU fans spun without any problems. What is the issue? When I connect the PSU to the motherboard and the cpu The PSU fan starts for 2 seconds and then The CPU fan spins for a second and nothing else happens unless I plug the switch On and off on the PSU itself. I tried already to reset CMOS I tried re seating all of the cables and RAM But there might've been something that I missed. Or could it be that there's not enough power from the PSU going to the rest of the system?
  5. Would this be a fine pick? It's in the C tier and I plan on not using this PC for a very long time ? http://makromedia.hr/proizvod/xfx-400w-xt-series-80-bronze/
  6. Whoa so many replies you lot are awesome. To answer a few questions. I'm from Croatia, once I get myself the new PC i plan on giving the other one to my sister for use so i'd like to have both of them working and I'm on a tight budget at the moment. I Am checking all the resources given too and I appreciate all the help given. Also I tend to buy from a local store so if anyone's willing to help This is the website i buy my items from. The prices are in Croatian Kuna 100 kunas = 15 usd. http://makromedia.hr/katalog/komponente/napajanja/ Thanks for helping me out everyone.
  7. Hey everyone my PSU slowly and painfully died after a few months of struggle with it. Now I'm in search of a new one. I know how to replace parts etc and how to plug cables but what I don't know is which PSU I need mostly how much power it needs to have. I have quite an old system: SPECS: CPU: i5 650 GPU: ASUS Gts 450 direct-cu MEMORY: 6gig's DD3 BROKEN-PSU: Cooler Master V450 it has 450w STORAGE: 1TB WD BLUE I'll be getting a new system by the middle of the year but I still want this one fixed and I'd like to go as cheap as possible. So I am wondering how much power a PSU needs to run the given components. I mostly do programming on the computer but sometimes I like to play TES skyrim It also runs two monitors one is 1080p and the other one is 900P So that's all I do. Thanks for the help.
  8. Thanks for the reply I found a quite large dustbuny in the back of my motherboard stuck between it and the case could that cause a short and prevent it from starting?
  9. Hey everyone for a while I've been having this issue. I'll try to describe it the best I can. Specs: CPU: i5 650 GPU: Asus direct cu Gts 450 Memory: 6gig Samsung idk the rest PSU: cooler master 450v The problem: For awhile now I have this issue where if I turn off my computer completely it won't boot. Sometimes it boots after constant power switching on and off on the back and draining it while it's off. The weird thing is that it works complete ly fine if I just restart it through Windows and don't turn it off completely. What happens when it turns off is ill hit the power switch and the fans of the cpu and psu spin for a one tenth of a second and stop. I tried to solve it myself but I'm not good at it. Only clue I might've found is that when I turn off the cpu power cable the fan spins for a little longer. I'm sorry if this isn't well formatted and articulated I'm on my phone thanks to anyone who tries to help.
