  1. so i got my first rig set up today. i'm using a 4K tv for my display, and on the 2 games i've tested, i get random spots of the screen turning off and back on, with the message of "game mode enabled by your device." normally i'd expect this from the game starting up, which is no issue. but in the middle of the game, it gives me like 2 seconds of nothing until it refreshes. i'm not sure if it's from the tv or gpu, but is there any way to disable it from occurring? using a 5700 XT gpu
  2. the omega's front panel is less in showmanship to the alpha, in my taste. and while the Meshify S2 does look really good, i'm pretty much going by a theme of red and black for color, which really limits my options.
  3. so aside from my main build, i have a secondary build in mind, which as i posted in the liquid cooling section, based off Command & Conquer, Brotherhood of Nod. i'm making a mockup on pcpartpicker, and stuck on deciding which case. mainly because i just can't pick anything that's perfect. call it being stingy if you want my 2 main choices are stuck between either the Corsair Spec Alpha to which i absolutely love the front panel, but the side panel has the small window design the other choice being the Phanteks Eclipse which suits my internals perfectly, having fittings for water cooling and reservoir, but the front panel is just bland to me. i also came across the Azza Inferno 310 which looks like a great compromise, except the internals on the main website don't seem to show any reservoir fittings, just that it supports a radiator on the top case pic so i'm open to ideas of anything that may suit my needs, or advice on which of these i should go for
  4. luckily my first build i plan in in a few months is gonna use UV leds, specifically for the purple hue. so i can use that as a testing ground on controlling brightness i hadn't considered green cables. was planning on red/black like the rest, but if i can get glowing power cables, that'll be perfect for a Nod theme
  5. no worries, i don't want the red reactive. just the green liquid. i want the board, case, components to be red/black, but have the liquid coolant to be green. watching a vid right now on making UV water, which i may go for
  6. that may work, though wouldn't the UV leds give off their own subtle glow? to give an idea of what i'm after, i'm a casual Command & Conquer fan, always gone Nod. i like the design of the MSI GPU being red/black, so i wanted to make a Nod themed build. pretty much everything red/black, but make the coolant a green glow, to represent tiberium.
  7. i got sorta inspired by a 2nd build i want to do, which involves liquid cooling. but for the idea i have in mind, i want to ask this. is there a method or any fittings/mixtures where the coolant itself gives off a glow? rather than doing rgb, i want to have a setup where the lights are coming from the pipes/reservoirs. is this possible, or would i have to scrap it for something else?
  8. as i mentioned in an earlier post, pretty much doing the whole dual storage deal, of having the M.2 for the OS, and the SATA for game storage. though after adding it, the compatibility notes said something about the M.2 and SATA sharing the bandwidth as well as disabling a port? though this says when put in slot 1, no clue of slot 2
  9. ok, i've pretty much changed it to LogicWeasel's build, but also looking for an M.2 SSD. which one would you guys suggest? Edit: though i noticed the board lacks SLI support. i hear that was supposed to improve GPU performance, or would i have to not worry about that?
  10. with that tower, i wouldn't need the data hub i picked out, so shave another 26 bucks off. the board still has 2 M.2 sockets, for my other stuff. thanks for the suggestions, LogicWeasel. i think i'll go with your first pick
  11. so would i need a 750W power supply? and what kind of ram would you suggest?
  12. well, from what i've seen in other vids, i've noticed others using a 250GB for the OS, then a TB just for game storage. i picked the optical drive simply because i saw bluray. even though i doubt i'll be using it, i have the old mentality of better to have it and not need it i picked that Ryzen 3 since i was looking for something relatively cheap. but if i ditch the optical as you suggest, i think it'll balance out
  13. so i've been watching a lot of build videos lately, and i now have the urge to make my own. so i wanted to share my build for any tips/additions i may need https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yMhWRJ i think the main thing i want to try to add is a 250GB m.2 SSD, though it doesn't show up on website, so i'll outsource it. i'll also be adding an m.2 bluetooth adapter i found, since i plan on using a dualshock 4 controller. if anyone else has tips, i'd be happy to hear them
  14. thanks for the suggestion. i more or less picked out what seemed cheap from top of the list, and found a better one at a cheaper price, picking the Hyper T2. it'll still be a while before i even purchase parts, but i'm always looking for helpful changes
