  1. There's a variety of ways you can do this. The specs of your computer will really determine that. There's things from elgato you can build if you're looking for just straight up regular output capture. Or you can get a pearl2/tricaster, if you're really looking to add a video production and routing scheme, but that is a very pricy option. Best recommendation would be if you could post your specs, and see if you might need/want to run a second computer for capturing. You could use a connector or NDI 5
  2. a VPN isn't the sure-fire way to determine location. DNS plays a major factor into this. Otherwise every single crime commited on the internet would be unsolved.

Well I just found out my uncle has had a heart…

THIS. Take up your time. It's easier to just sit around and sulk. But one foot in front of the other. Next thing you know, you're walking. Do you bud. Do you to the max.
  4. It really depends on the latency of transmission on the product. The name of the tranmission latency is escaping me right now, but if A/V Sync is important, there are late models of bluetooth that you can go with that have minimal de-sync

Take time for yourself. Family first. Just lost an aunt 3 weeks ago. Take. Your. Time. The site will function. Your role here is important, but we can survive while you handle your life. Please handle your personal affairs first.
  6. I had this issue happen to me when the game first launched. After trial and error on everything, assuming you've done all the necessary troubleshooting - make sure your graphics card does not have an OSD (on screen display) parameters enabled. Like displaying framerate, etc. This caused the game to crash every single time without error. Hopefully this helps.
  7. I've been looking at breakdown videos, and trying to avoid taking mine apart - but i'm genuinely curious as to who made the lidar sensor in the 12 pro/max. Curious as to whether Apple outsourced it, for a trial run on the new cameras, or if they went with MicroVision, Velodyne, or something along those lines. I've tried everything. Scanning QR codes. But no one goes past taking the sensor out of the phone without doing a further breakdown. Any info would be awesome!
  8. 100% fair. Thank you for the response. I'll pose the question again if I see increased discussion to possibly warrant it in the future, but thank you for laying it out! take care,
  9. No worries at all. I figured it wouldn't hurt to bring up. I also had a more detailed reply above. Thanks for getting back to me!
  10. That's a fair point. There is a broad spectrum in regards to AV, but I was mainly focused on production. Such as events, television, and general broadcast. Working with video switchers, SDI, NDI, and congolomerated A/V setups that go outside of the consumer space. While it is niche, there is a community for it. To answer your question, no - I haven't personally seen any, but I don't think folks are going to be discussing XLR/SDI runs for most home-theater systems, as they are applicable to larger-scale events. Also, with the pandemic, NDI has seen a rapid uptick, as it is allowing full on production to happen over networks, reducing foot-traffic to sites. As seen with the DNC, and RNC (most notably recently). Basically, this would be more medium/large scale oriented, rather than towards the consumer space. There are so many groups on facebook, but the layout there is quite frankly awful, and the moderation is sub-par. It would be something I would volunteer for, but I'm sure there is a vetting process. Just throwing it out there. Thanks for the reply!
  11. Who do you think would be the best person to reach out to, regarding this?
  12. While there is a "other" discussion board, I feel like the AV community, especially the production side could have a bigger voice in this community. Lots of folks in the AV side, albeit with Video Conferencing, Events, Speaker Arrays, SDI, and Live Production could use a larger community to bolster discussion within the field. Just a thought.
  13. I think you have just worded this question in a way that is confusing many people. OEM just means Original Equipment Manufacturer. Gaming motherboards are just a type of motherboard that has software in the BIOS that is overclocking friendly. Other motherboard variants could be: - Server Motherboards (sometimes have dual sockets, but have support for ECC RAM mainly) - Workstation Motherboards - "Business" Motherboards - Laptop motherboards Perhaps this video by Linus will help
  14. Assuming that voltage is your RAM? We can't get enough information, as it'll help us try to come up with a fix. Have you looked through your motherboard to see if there's any bulging capacitors? Have you done any BIOS updates? It's sort of exhausting to have to pry.
  15. Have you ran any diagnostics? Like memory tests? Are you getting a blue screen? have you checked the error logs in windows? Have you done any overclocking? Are your voltages showing okay?
  16. We're all happy to help, but this is similar to going to the doctor and saying "randomly I cough, what is wrong with me?" Have you run any diagnostics? Doing things under heavy load? Replicatable? Any information can help us help you!
  17. Wow! In all my years of working with computers I have only had ONE CPU die. You would almost never think to check. Glad you got it worked out man. Sorry I couldn't help!
  18. Did you also do a bios update? That usually expands compatibility

  20. Just popping back in to see if you were able to figure this out?
  21. I mean, if you're looking for a cinematic experience getting a low reponse time 60-120FPS may be the way to go. If you're looking for a competitive advantage, that's when you get 144+
  22. SOL, unless you hook up a USB hub for mouse/keyboard support. (Android Only)
  23. Yes. This is normal. High-refresh monitors are aimed at responsiveness. Not at color accuracy or vividness. Sometimes you can compromise by spending more money, but the results are relatively the same. My 700 dollar ASUS PG278Q has light bleed and color banding issues, but it is the most responsive monitor I've ever owned by a long margin. In order to combat this a little, I made contrast and brightness adjustments, and go the proper color profile from https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/icc_profiles.htm. Hopefully your monitor is there. Hope this helps.
