i personally use a DS215+ and have it running 24/7 all the time and it has never skipped a beat once. i can wholeheartedly recommend a synology nas. i would go with the +II as it has better features.

A NAS if he doesn't have one already? or maybe a racing quadcopter or something?

if a ramdrive is of use to you then it would be really nice and also running VMs with plenty of ram is also nice but you also need more cpu cores for that.

main differences will be the colour scheme (similar), the nic and audio implementation. if you like the killer e2400 nic then go for the msi board as it has it but if you prefer intel nics then go for the asus. the audio should be better on the asus. see which features are more important to you and go for that. also the msi board does not support sli which is something to point out. overclocking should be similar on both. both have fan curve control in the bios.

If you plan on SLI in the future, go for the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming (for Crossfire, either will work). There's not a huge amount of difference otherwise.

Asus has better VRM's, so if you're going for extreme overclocking, that'd be the choice.

it would make your cpu more future proof but you can only overclock on a z170 chipset i believe. h170 wont work for that. the i5 6600k will have a higher second hand value though.

I actually like your MB but here in this shitty country we dont have so much to choose, so these two are the only options :/, that B150 should be fine for me....

im using a 1155 Intel Core i5 3340 with a mini-itx Gigabyte GA-H67N-USB3-B3. Like i told you i cant buy that MB cause is not in argentina, we get a little part of all the motherboards in the market. Yeah ive seen some h170/b150 but i dont like their features PS2 connectors / 3way audio...2 usb3.0 no USB-C...... old stuff

thats not too good of an idea as smaller drives have worse speeds and worse iops. just go for a single 480gb pny which is the best option imo.

What it seems like you have to do is remove the battery connector(red cable) then get a screwdriver and bridge the 2 pins at the jumper so they make contact.
if you don't want to do that you can just remove the battery and unplug the pc from the wall. When that has done hold the power button for 10 seconds and leave the computer unplugged for 10-15 min before plugging everything back in and booting

damn. then go for the others. i wouldnt go for kingston or sandisk though. the performance is not that great. pick a drive from ocz, adata, crucial, etc at a drive ard 500gb with a price and warranty u like and you should be fine.
