A reminder that political and religious discussion is banned...yet it still finds it way in.

The political ban has not been lifted.
Seeing the topic was open for political interpretation and thusly lead to direct political commentary the topic is now locked.

He's actually using his old Samsung Galaxy Note 9

With him planning to make a LTT video where he will daily drive for a month and do a review about it as well as talk about what he loved all his previous phones.

About 2 weeks back he talked about how he might let the audience decide partially since LMG also got their hands on the new fairphone.

Foldables are pretty cool, but are they worth the money? Linus has been daily driving one for a few years and thinks he might be able to convince you.

2023 find myself after 30 years of being into Gaming / Computers etc having a ton of stuff I'm able to get rid of the odd cable but most end up in that "I may need this one day box" that is now rather heavy and full.

I've just counted and currently have 7 Desktops and 2 Laptops (all but 2 are used on the regular) but fear time has come my first full build PC is just not super useful and trying to do something about that to save him from being send to big skip in the sky.

Something that comes to mind is using him to render I'm looking to get back into making videos and remember rendering was always a slow task not talking anything fancy just low grade youtube bollocks odd cut here and there but wondering if I will be wasting my time even trying to get it set for that.

Its a i7 920 from launch week back in like 2010 i think it was maybe earlier.

Would be using devinchi resolve and question is would this be able to even do the job or just use my NAS (Optiplex 3040 with a  i5 6500k)?

other question is when do you say goodbye to the old kit 😞 its been a friend almost and around a long time.

Not once, heck no. But I'd pick a publisher or developer I really hate and reinstall it 10,000 times. I also recommend thousands of other people do the same. I'm sure something will happen lol

It all depends on how they implement it.  Since it something as simple as a fresh install count, all it would have to do is essentially keep a config file that has a flag set saying it's registered itself as an install.  Most users wouldn't bother figuring out how to make it look like it's already "installed" and it wouldn't require being online (instead it could just call out if there is an internet connection, but continue if not).  This kind of approach might be good in that it if someone deletes their config it counts as a new install.

Like if they "needed" more money; I would have been okay with them lowering the indie level revenue sharing level.  Even if they did something like $5,000 (but didn't really enforce it) I would be okay with it.  At $5,000 a year before revenue sharing it would start making people consider the paid options, and those who don't will be sharing a lot more revenue...and it doesn't feel like a kick in the gut either (since at $5k/m that's at a level where self reporting the profits would only take a minimal amount of time)

The original PSP wasn't quite this bad, but I did lose interest in it as games like Ridge Racer were borderline unplayable as every turn was a brown smeary mess.  I find it bizarre people raved about it so much as I found it ruined the otherwise excellent hardware.

Price is the only real problem for me. I would love to have this as a secondary monitor for reading (I read quite a bit).

If I were a writer of some kind, I'd be very tempted by this. But it would have to have it in a dedicated writing space, separate from my normal desk.

But, given the price and hassle for two work spaces, if I really needed clear text I might just get a very high DPI monitor like the Apple Studio Display, Dell's 6k monitor, or the Samsung ViewFinity S9. The pixel density on any of those where probably make text look quite good.
