  1. Just bought a pre built PC as I know nothing about building PC's, it has a I9 9900K, Gigabyte z390 Aorus Ultra mobo and a H150i Pro AIO. I noticed the CPU temps were hitting 80-87 degrees after about 3 hours of playing Modern Warfare 2019. is that high? to me it seems a little high. Idle temps seem fine at around 35-40 degrees which is what my old PC sat at idle (i7 4790K, also i live in Australia so ambient cpu/room temp is a little higher than usual) and the AIO fans are at 100% I HAVE NOT OC'D THE CPU. everything is default except XMP to get 3600mhz RAM which was done by the place I got the PC from. only thing I seem to find online about this pairing of board and CPU with high temps is that the default settings push voltage a bit too extreme. Would love to hear from the experience fol out there or people with this board.
  2. Changing Dropbox storage location to where my work is, worked just as I wanted it to.
  3. so, theoretically changing Dropbox's location will do what i want it to do then?
  4. Okay, so I have a quite a specific request when it comes to back up services. as of now I'm looking at dropbox and/or google drive. I have about 90GB of work I want to backup and be able to easily access and download any part of said work. So what I'm trying to figure out is with these services they are more of a "syncing" style of service, so both your computer and the cloud are the same, which is cool. But when I use the dropbox program it will place the sync folder on my C drive, but my work is on my F drive. I don't want two copies of my work (the original location F: and copying it to C: for dropbox), so i manually upload my work through the browser, but doing this the program sees I have nothing in my dropbox folder (C:) and will start downloading it. there for i end up having two copies of my work and a full SSD (my C:). is there a way to just upload a specific folder that doesn't have to be on the C: and upload it without me having to re-download it again? the only thing I can think of that will theoretically work is to change dropbox/google drive save location to where my work is saved. so it will automatically upload any changes done whether its a modified existing file or brand new files, and it won't download another copy as the space is occupied by the same folder. can this happen? is there any service that can do that or am I out of my league here? I would like to be able to have it automatically back up as it will save a lot of time on my end. which comes to another question. if I were to skip using google drive/dropbox programs and just drag and drop in the browser, if I were to upload the parent work folder (all my work is in sub-folders inside of it), then make changes to it like adding a new file or modify an existing one then drag and drop the same parent folder into the browser again, will it try and upload the whole thing again? or will it figure out the difference and only upload the changes? sorry if it's hard to understand and it doesn't make sense, I'm trying to wrap my head around it myself. the TL:DR version. I want a way to automatically upload my work without having to re-download it due to the "sync" design of the application.
  5. its the same amount of noise whether its plugged into mobo or the front. I will have a look at the cables and see what's happening.
  6. ever since i've had my PC (company built it, 7 months btw) I have had constant audio buzzing/hissing, when i plug in external hard drives i can here it power up with buzzing, i also here when data transfers. Now i here when i select/highlight things and scroll on webpages now. I use headphones and no matter if i plug it in at the front or plug it in to the mobo at the back. any suggestions?
  7. thanks. tried this, still doesn't work, this is the result. anything else?
  8. Sorry I forgot to add that I cant role back far enough to when there was no issue.
  9. Okay so I have this issue on every time I start up or turn off my PC it will try and install some windows update. It never installs it and says "failure configuring windows updates undoing changes" at the end of it. This happened because I was trying to turn my computer off during a storm and windows thought it was going to be a good idea to install some updates right then and there, say to say it wasnt. Lost power for a second and now I have this issue. I cant role back to when this wasnt an issue because it happened over a month ago, and have been putting up with since then. Some people suggest uninstalling the updates, but I cant, since they arent actually installing they dont show up. I have tried some methods of using CMD.exe things on turning off windows updates and checking for errors, some errors do pop up but I do not know what to do with such things. I have Deleted the updates out of the folder where they get stored and still nothing. Its driving me nuts as a 12 seconds boot up (OS on SSD) now takes 5- 7 minutes turning on and turning off takes 2-3 minutes. P.S. I'm using Windows 8.1
  10. thanks for the help, but i am aware of this. anything else?
  11. I have made some progress on figuring out the problem, being using DVI and has been working. As soon as I switch back to Display port, 2 of the 3 ports gets no signal and the last port the screen flickers off and on. I have rolled back drivers after this and still a problem. its a bit weird to have this sort of problem with only a 2 month active lifespan to things. oh well.
  12. okay, it seems like a driver related issue. every time its black screens it creates a shortcut to "3D Vision Photo Viewer" which to my understanding is Nvidia related because the shortcut shows up every time after driver updates. speaking of which, just checked MSI afterburner. seems like the random black screens have set it back to default value,
  13. Ive had my PC and monitor for 2 months, every now and then i would get a black screen on cold boot up. To fix it I would simply restart PC and it would fix this. Over time this issue fadded away maybe only happening once a week. all of a sudden these past 2 days, there is a 50% chance on start up now that i get no signal. I'm not quite sure what the issue is, but thats not the main issue. Only today has it started to randomly black screen while operating. its happened 3 times today, twice when playing games and another when browsing the internet. I was using a display port cable, i have now swapped it out for a DVI cable to see how it goes. my GPU drivers are 347.25, the GPU is OCed but ive been gaming on the current setting for over a month now with no issue. anyone have any ideas ?
