  1. So this was my first time to do my own custom water loop. the only thing that didn't work when I started it up was the gpu. So, I thought, maybe the motherboard just didn't like the PCIe port I put it in. I put it in another one, and I still had the same problem, triple checking that it wasn't a seating issue. I went into the bios, and both times, the motherboard wasn't recognizing that anything existed in the slot. Is it possible that when I was cracking open the shell, that I could have static shocked the gpu dead? I was pretty careful in placing the thermal pads and cleaning the gpu off... is there anything else I should try before giving up entirely on it? here's my specs: i7-7700k Barrow-Jetting micro waterway; Acrylic Aurora Asus GeForce GTX 1080 8GB TURBO Alphacool GPX, full block + backplate GTX 1080 m10 Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8 GB DDR4-2400 RAM Corsair RMX 1000W XSPC RX240 Dual-Fan Radiator V3 + 4 noctua's in a push/pull Bitspower D5 pump Tygon E-3603 3/8" ID (1/2" OD) Clear Tubing and Bitspower fittings CA-1I7-00F1WN01 THERMALTAKE v71 case Mayhem x1 UV blue coolant
  2. I actually found one of the last few waterblocks on the market that still make asus turbo 1080 cooling blocks. it's expensive, but the quality is amazing. check it out: http://www.performance-pcs.com/alphacool-nexxxos-gpx-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-m10-incl-backplate-black.html#Specifications I think if performance pc runs out, you can go directly to alphacool's website to look it up.
