  1. It's relatively small, should be able to get away with using electrical tape. For the ethernet cord, I'm likely stuck with either unplugging it every night or turning off the PSU switch like I have been doing. Thank you for your help and time.
  2. Good to hear that that was probably a rumor or something. Bios is fully updated to version 5220 https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-B350-F-GAMING/HelpDesk_BIOS/
  3. This has been a constant reoccurring problem despite following many tutorials online and troubleshooting, where although these efforts have been successful for most of the lights these two in specific although insignificant brings enough light in the room at night to make me shut off the power supply every night, which is not only a huge inconvenience but also worse for my PSU and computer's lifespan as well. There's two specific lights causing this problem: 1. This on specific orange light still on the motherboard. Would just removing the motherboard LED plug fix this and the other problem and/or is there a better option? 2. More importantly, a blinking orange light by the ethernet cable which is much more noticeable. This video didn't work entirely but shut most of the rgb off. https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?52422-HOW-TO-Turning-off-All-motherboar-lights-when-shut-down-Keep-ROG-LED-when-PC-is-on talks about this ErP solution, would a Corsair rm850x be ErP ready and would that fix this? Suggestions would be appreciated.
  4. See title... Recently reinstalled Windows onto an ssd. Now having Bluetooth connectivity problems Have redownloaded/updated new Realtek drivers Made sure Bluetooth usb is connected Made sure USB wireless drivers were downloaded/updated Says its paired Headphones are definitely trying to connect, still work fine on phone However, I think when reinstalling windows I did pick one of the minimal options regarding Bluetooth (I can't remember), which could maybe affect it (just a hypothesis). Any suggestions on how to fix, please?
  5. Going through it now, thank you it should fix the problem this I bet will be quite useful. I should familiarize myself with these kinds of shortcuts more thanks again.
  6. MSI afterburner or RTTS ain't running, only the setup is and it gives the error regardless.
  7. "MSI Afterburner is currently active" problem. Can't install updates, can't uninstall it and even when deleting all the hard files it still shows up. What I'm hoping to do is reinstall the latest version of MSI Afterburner and maybe Rivatuner (haven't tried it yet) but regardless of troubleshooting myself it keeps giving the same error right here: It appears also every time I start up my computer which has started to get annoying. Does anyone know why this keeps on appearing it even does when I have Afterburner, Games, programs and absolutely everything but the uninstall option?
  8. My problem is that I placed my ram sticks in the wrong slots. Research your motherboards preferred placement of ram and try again. If that doesn’t work retry what I troubleshooted before. ex: I had my sticks in 1 & 3 instead of 2 & 4
  9. Just curious hows the comfort with the Sony's? I know it's still great but do you need to take them off or get irritated after like a certain amount of hours?
  10. I'll likely try the QC35's first and try the sound but also make a trip to BestBuy again and compare to see if it's worth it. I already compared them today at a not local BestBuy (Out of town currently) but the Sony's they had there didn't give a sound testing option only noise cancelling. One more thing: any preference on if I should get Black or Triple Midnight? I don't think I'll mind either but they're the same price & if I were to try and sell em many years from now if colour is any important
  11. It's Canada. But it's Vancouver. So.... it isn't that Vancouver doesn't ever get cold but it's way less cold than the rest of Canada & even Seattle and other places in the U.S. I doubt I'll bring them out in cold temps much but I guess it ain't worth the risk considering the $450 price tag for me.
  12. In the market for good wireless noise cancelling headphones. Been wanting to replace the old Beats 3 that I got ages ago when I didn't really know better: falling apart with only 1 side sound working etc I plan to purchase these within the next few days. Already went to BestBuy to try on a few (will likely buy from amazon.ca though) I know there's already a lot of information regarding these two choices but I'm trying to find out if anything has changed since the last time these two have been reviewed. Compared the Sony wh-1000xm3 vs Bose qc35 II. Learning more towards the Bose for the slightly lighter & comfort + less Bluetooth problems and its reliability in other things like the cold (I live in Canada but it is Vancouver so it doesn't go to 0c often. Heard bose is better all around sound but Sony's have better quality sound, I usually listen to indie, rock, "video game music" etc. I don't hear either of them mentioned for gamers often though as I'm not interested in a headset as I already have a dedicated mic. However, as I'm only on planes occasionally and use headphones much more frequently with my computer I'm wondering if there really any better wireless noise cancelling headphones for gaming. Like I understand if its only middle of the line and is pale compared to wired pc music editing headphones, but it should at least be pretty good for a casual goer that might edit video audio occasionally in the future with these. Not the focus, but should keep in mind. Just would be smart to know some more information when like the next gen could come out (I'm in the market now so this doesn't really affect my choice), if these are still good and will likely be solid headphones 2, 3, 4 years down the line. Main use is gaming/work on a PC & travel on airplanes, road trips and occasionally with a laptop on vacation gaming/work. Also if they're worth the steep price of $450 Canadian https://www.amazon.ca/QuietComfort-Wireless-Headphones-Cancelling-Control/dp/B0756CYWWD/ref=sr_1_3?crid=EIC6JTMXJCKY&keywords=bose+qc35+ii&qid=1552965913&s=gateway&sprefix=bose+qc%2Caps%2C221&sr=8-3 & would work well with an iPhone as well as a PC with If I were to get the Bose QC II in a few days with an adaptor something like https://www.amazon.ca/Avantree-Bluetooth-Adapter-Computer-Keyboard/dp/B00VWEK4IG/ref=pd_bxgy_23_2/139-4093734-4990358?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00VWEK4IG&pd_rd_r=9e6bada3-49f6-11e9-8389-5995d9cc0e53&pd_rd_w=x3EQg&pd_rd_wg=sneyX&pf_rd_p=a62e2918-d998-4bbb-8337-35aac776e851&pf_rd_r=MJKSHC3657822Q9BV2N6&psc=1&refRID=MJKSHC3657822Q9BV2N6 Just looking for insight/suggestions before I possibly make an expensive purchase for me as I was initially planning on a monitor but then my headphones went haywire so the monitor will come next in line. Suggestions/insight is appreciated.
  13. Thank you it took a long time. I figured there would be some catches with particular va monitors. For the mg279q I am concerned about the “draw of luck” factor as I’ll likely not be able to test it with a Nvidia card until the return time is over so I’ll likely cross that monitor off the list. I’ll have to research more about colour shifting and pay attention to sRGB in specific and that should hopefully narrow down the choices. This has been very insightful.
  14. https://www.amazon.ca/Acer-XF270HU-ABMIIDPRZX-FreeSync-Monitor/dp/B01NAXRX5E/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?keywords=acer xf270hu wqhd 144hz ips&qid=1552702205&s=gateway&sr=8-1-fkmr2&tag=linus21-20&pldnSite=1 the only seller on amazon.ca sadly has it way too overpriced for it's value I think. Thanks anyways.
  15. https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=0JC-000P-00083 Yeah I envy microcenter. Only one I can find in Canada is out of stock
  16. I've researched 1440p monitor's for months now. For long have I've been bound to this old 1080p relic of an old business monitor with my battle station. I've figured out a few potential one's but many factors come into play, especially price changes as a Canadian. I'm definitely buying one in the next 2 weeks (Spring Break) so suggestions are appreciated. I'll try to explain it the best I can: Resolution: Definitely 1440p, 4k too much 1080p too little. Refresh: 144hz perferably. Minimum 120hz and 240hz is excessive for my budget, maybe 160-165 depending but that's just a bonus. Response Time: Lower is obviously better, I don't usually get that low (at least I won't until I upgrade the rest of my battlestation). Worst case scenario I could work with 5ms or 4ms but if possible 2ms or 1ms would be great. Panel type: I'm thinking VA as if I am to possibly edit some videos, do some part-time art possibly drawing comics I should avoid a TN. IPS are usually way too expensive but there are a few IPS monitors in my budget. Not sure about dead pixels, ips bleed & glow etc. Screen size: 27" or 32". Found quite a few 32" ones that seem intriguing but I always have people tell me that 32" is too much for 1440p as it's too big + 1440p 32" is basically 1080p. So perferably 27" but I should be able to work with 32". Not sure which but it will be my main monitor and could be using it for some productivity so maybe I should go with the 32". Suggestions? Freesync/G-Sync: This kinda complicated. I currently only have an RX580 (I don't play that many intensives so it's fine for now) but I'm almost certain about upgrading to a 2070 in the summer. And with Freesync usually being cheaper and there being this "G-Sync compatibility" I definitely need at least a monitor that works with the "G-Sync Compatibility" or just flat out G-sync. I don't mind being stuck with G-Sync until the Summer if it helps. Used For: It's mostly a gamer, not esports or anything but a pretty casual gamer and possibly streamer, stuff like Halo MCC (when it comes out), AC Oddesy, PUBG, CSGO. I'm also considering making artwork and editing videos, not it's the main focus but it shouldn't be absolute dogcrap but it also doesn't have to be too much. Like I said before some VA panels could do. It will stand on a desk directly in front of me. Budget: I've configured my budget to be around $600-800 Canadian (CAD) at most, preferably including the 12% tax from my province. It's a lot more then I initially planned but I'm making sure that this monitor lasts me hopefully. I could possibly up it by an extra $50 if it's that much more worth it. Monitor's I have in Mind: Samsung - LC27JG50QQNZA 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor https://www.amazon.ca/Samsung-LC27HG70QQNXZA-27-Inch-Curved-Monitor/dp/B06XSQ5QN8/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_147_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=5AKCBX7KEWT5B9QH951K https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/qnqhP6/samsung-lc27jg50qqnza-270-2560x1440-144hz-monitor-lc27jg50qqnza Seems to be a really good VA panel w/ freesync 2, says to watch for 1+ dead pixels though MSI - Optix MAG27CQ 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/p4WfrH/msi-optix-mag27cq-270-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-optix-mag27cq https://www.amazon.ca/s?k=1440p+144hz+monitor+ips&i=electronics&ref=nb_sb_noss_2 Really good if I want to cheap out, should be more than fine to save money and have a VA panel just like the one above watch for dead pixels. It's a older monitor I think too LG 32GK650F-B 32" QHD Gaming Monitor with 144Hz Refresh Rate and Radeon FreeSync Technology https://www.amazon.ca/LG-32GK650F-B-Monitor-FreeSync-Technology/dp/B07FLGR2PN/ref=asc_df_B07FLGR2PN/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=292991900780&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8588080272428495716&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001581&hvtargid=pla-559550265089&psc=1 Seems to be very simular I think to the Samsung but 32" Asus 27" 144Hz WQHD FreeSync Gaming Monitor [MG279Q] IPS, 4ms https://www.amazon.ca/Asus-FreeSync-MG279Q-Response-DisplayPort/dp/B00ZOO348C/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3J5MRUUMMDS58&keywords=144hz%2Bmonitor%2B27%2Binch%2B1440p&qid=1552691127&s=gateway&sprefix=144hz%2Bmonitor%2B27%2Binch%2B144%2Caps%2C223&sr=8-3&th=1 Likely the most expensive one I would consiter. G-sync Asus IPS 4ms. No freesync options but I heard good things of asus monitors https://www.amazon.ca/Asus-FreeSync-MG279Q-Response-DisplayPort/dp/B014X4U076/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3J5MRUUMMDS58&keywords=144hz%2Bmonitor%2B27%2Binch%2B1440p&qid=1552691127&s=gateway&sprefix=144hz%2Bmonitor%2B27%2Binch%2B144%2Caps%2C223&sr=8-3&th=1 Not really sure how this one's different from the one above aside from Adaptive Sync and 1ms I haven't looked into it yet There are a few others out there, older, newer, cheaper or more expensive but there's a few I had in mind above. Suggestions are appreciated. Feel free to suggest one above or a different one you know and why.
  17. Yeah I had lots of ussies with a1 & b1 but I've had no trouble with advertised speeds 3200mhz and could possibly stable overclock even.
  18. I think I also found something else that possibly was a major contributing factor: I had my slots in a1 & b1 instead of recommended a2 & b2 I’m trying it now to see the difference
  19. Have watched many videos reguarding stable overclocking of the Ryzen 5 1600 w/ stock cooler but this BIOS seems quite different and the only video I could find with the same BIOS was clocking to 3.8 I’ll like to know what different steps or settings I should take as I’m still quite new to overclocking and when figuring out myself it often results in crashes or lacklustre performance like when trying to yesterday with cinebenchr15. Not sure if the process has changed because of BIOS updates (made sure I am on the latest one) Stuff like personal experiences with these kinds of specs, with DOCP, DOCP standard & auto settings would be helpful.
  20. Yeah got ahold of the 2nd videos creator for insight and I’ll likely post a forum tommorow reguarding 3.6 settings as his video was for 3.8 which I won’t need until later.
  21. It's now become stable after being slightly overvolted at 1.36 at DOCP standard 3200mhz. I'll likely bump it up to at least 1.38 or 1.4 like what other people also recommended for it to make sure it's stable. Not what it was advertised as but I guess it's understandable as it's a budget mobo. Thank's for your help. This isn't really related but now that's done any info on how to overclock Ryzen 5 1600 to 3.6 stable? Will either of these videos work? I'll move it do a different forum if appropriate/requested.
  22. Sadly it crashed with d.o.c.p standard 3200mhz at 1.35v. I’m not sure if I should maybe try tweaking manually, or worse case return it for a different pair. Not sure if it’s because of my Asus b350-f gaming mobo.
  23. I updated the BIOS via USB and tried the D.O.C.P standard which surprisingly despite what people say has given me solid 3200mhz 1.35v with no crashing for at least a few hours of all sorts of things. Not sure if it’s resolved for good but things are looking a bit up. I’ll look a bit more into it tommorow just in case
  24. Trying D.O.C.P standard at same as D.O.C.P. If it has the same result I'll check out MemTest86 and adjusting SOV & LCC as stated.
