No, and from your post I can clearly see who the dick actually is. Your new boss is paying for the internet connection, not you, so he get's to decide who can use it and for what. Size all action against that or it will be you who is out of a job.

If there is line of site I would look into a Ubiquity NanoStation. Super cheap and they just work https://store.ui.com/products/2-4-ghz-loco

Like the others said fiber would be even better but it would get really expensive really fast

    That's not correct.
Just disconnect the strands at the end and swap them around. It's not damaging.

Do you have a proper PTR?
    SPF, DKIM, DMARC?
Are you running an on premise mail server? Does it even support TLS?
Are you tring to send out marketing newsletters filled with 5MB bmp images to 10.000 customers?

Those spam emails are pretty common in the recent weeks. "we have your password ......, we hacked your camera and have footage of you <YouKnowWhat>. Give us BTC".
Change your passwords. Use a password manager. USE DIFFERENT PASSWORDS!

Hyper-V host needs about 4GB RAM.
DC+File Share can be run with 4GB RAM aswell.
Exchange 2019 has a 128GB RAM as minimum requirement.

YouTube-DL is all you need, although according to YouTube, downloading videos from their platform is a violation of their Terms of Service. (Even though streaming a video technically downloads a copy to your computer, so you tell me how that logic works.)

Try getting your hands on Packet Tracer and a few IOS files. IIRC it's behind a paywall. It's been a long while since I did my CCNA.
    GNS3 is also an alternative.

There are multiple ways you can handle this.

    1. You could create a network share on whatever computer you designate as the server. Create some basic permissions with user accounts, and then map those drives to each PC with the credentials remembered.

    2. You could take the "server" computer and install an actual Server OS onto it, such as FreeNAS, Linux, Windows Server, etc - then configure as needed. Ideally, setup an AD Domain or LDAP/similar.

    3. You could just go out and buy a small 2-bay NAS from Synology or QNAP - they are very cheap, and also give a level of drive redundancy if you setup the HDD's in a RAID1 mirror (highly recommended). Both Synology and QNAP NAS's can operate as a Domain Controller, and you can create permissions level access to folders based on users. You then map the drive to each client.

    4. You could buy an actual server, with Windows Server operating system on it (Please, nothing older than Server 2012, ideally Server 2016 or newer) - this could be new or used. Setting up a proper Windows domain would be best, but is more complicated and the hardware could be more costly.

I'd advise you to go the Synology/QNAP route. The NAS's themselves are very cheap. Just slap a couple of HDD's inside (The capacity depends on your needs. I'd advise a drive that's at least 50% bigger than your current needs, and then buy 2 of them). The interface and configuration is stupid easy and straight forward, and the support both Synology and QNAP offer is damn good.
*cough* the SysAdmins on the forum (such as myself) take offense to that!

Though you're right, most users on this forum are basically noobs when it comes to proper business infrastructure.

A small NAS (Synology/QNAP) is probably the cheapest, easiest and yet best solution. I'd advise option 3 aswell.

I was just using what I know best as an example. I am sure, Dells SonicWall, PaloAlto, Watchguard, Juniper, Sophos, Barracuda, Meraki etc. etc. etc. all offer those features now.

A firewall filteres traffic by ports. DNS resolves names. You can only get around DNS filtering that way. The firewall could easily block 53/tcp/udp for you to stop you from doing it.
