alatron978 got a reaction from GamerBoy705 in I9 10850K vs Ryzen 5800X
€145 for a 10400F which beats the 3600. A 3600 system is not the way to go at all.

alatron978 got a reaction from SAVE-12-HK in 10400f VS 3600
10400F has a stock cooler that is perfectly fine. Just cut the cooler out of the 10400F system and it'll be faster and cheaper.

alatron978 got a reaction from Skiiwee29 in Memory overclock
Asus reverse engineered xmp (this is very easy to do) and made DOCP so they don't have to pay royalties to Intel for using XMP technology.

1.36v is not safe

alatron978 got a reaction from jumbo9i0 in question about overclock memory speed
XMP by definition is an overclocking technology. XMP is designed to make overclocking memory available to all.

alatron978 got a reaction from jumbo9i0 in question about overclock memory speed
How complicated something is doesn't mean its overclocking or not. Anyone can overclock a 10900K to 5.3ghz for example, you just set it in the bios. Would that be a good 5.3ghz overclock though? No. Just like XMP is very easy to set, but XMP is a very bad memory overclock in technical terms.

alatron978 got a reaction from Mando772004 in R5 3600 OC
Look at this voltage, anything under 1.225V is fine. Anything over can be dangerous.

alatron978 got a reaction from Psittac in New build, same problem
Are you using a new operating system? If not, reinstall windows.

alatron978 got a reaction from DakotaWebber in Geforce 1060 overclock questions -Please as many people who has overclocked answer
Thermal paste and power delivery isn't what is massively affected from overclocking. Modern cards have enough VRM protection to be sure the VRM doesn't up and die. And thermal paste is literally a consumable. The physical silicon degrades faster through electromigration and silicon oxide breakdown which are induced by higher current and temperatures, and voltage and temperatures respectively.

No point in doing so, you can modify the soft power play table. It's much easier, and also safer.

alatron978 reacted to Skiiwee29 in New CPU issue
The 9600k is incompatible with the B150 motherboard, requires a 300 series board to work.

alatron978 got a reaction from radioactive000 in only 2cores are available in 4core cpu
It has two modules with two cores each. The two cores in each cores do share some stuff and that sharing of stuff does make it slower then a true quad core. This two cores per module is much better then multi threading and gives around a 70% performance boost over 40% from multi threading.

yes I call them 1080p cards, they will run all games ultra at 90fps, even the badly optimised AAA games

Nvidia cards on and after 10 series (includes the 16 series) can use Freesync anyways

alatron978 got a reaction from DJ46 in Does increasing the resolution reduce FPS when the CPU is the bottleneck?
Depends on when you transition from a cpu limitation to a gpu limitation. You can try playing at 1440p super sampled to see how that goes. You can do this by enabling virtual super resolution in the Amd Radeon Settings application under the display portion.

alatron978 got a reaction from BTGbullseye in Sapphire 5700 XT super low fps assistance required
Ok, so first of all, swapping gpu manufactures, 100% should use ddu. I had those issues and i was able to fix it by changing the power limit in any way, plus or minus, fixed it for me, don't know if it will help you but i have had no issues with this card other then that. Also try turning free sync off, free sync is stupid and wreaks my fps if its on.
